Osamu was excited.
He'd been in a battle for months, trying to secure the location for his next branch of Onigiri Miya in Nagano, he wanted to be in the same prefecture as Suna. He'd been planning on opening a new branch over there since Suna moved over there to be in the EJP Raijin's. Of course, Osamu loved being near his twin, loved having easy access to watching his games and enjoyed being near Kiyoomi too, since them and his brother had gotten together, both Osamu and Suna had become really close to Kiyoomi Sakusa, something Osamu never thought would happen although he also never thought that Atsumu and Kiyoomi would get together. And, meeting Kiyoomi had been so good for Suna, knowing there was another non-binary player so close by was comforting, Osamu knew that and was grateful for that. The two of them understood each other in a way the twins never would.
And now, he finally had his location secured.
All he had to do now was finally tell Suna that it was happening. His lease started in January and Suna was a week away from coming home for the holidays meaning when they went back to training, he was going with him.
Osamu was grateful for the other manager he had hired a year ago, it meant that he could set off for a new store and know that the two branches he already had would be okay. And, during Suna's off season, the two of them would come back so they could be near to Atsumu and Kiyoomi for a couple of months. It's what was going to work for them, it meant the four of them would also still be close together and Osamu wouldn't have to miss his partner constantly.
It was finally happening.
He just needed to tell Suna now.
Suna Rintarou was truly the love of Osamu's life, even more so than food. The two of them had known each other since their first year of high school, Suna had been scouted to come to Inarizaki and Osamu had immediately wanted to be friends with them. And, after a couple of weeks, he'd finally worn them down and Suna had accepted him into their life. Suna knew things about Osamu that nobody else did, even Atsumu. They were the one Osamu always had gone to when him and Atsumu had argued, had always gone to them when Suna's parents arguing became too much and they needed Osamu. Osamu was the first person Suna had told when they discovered they were non-binary and Osamu had helped them tell the rest of the team and then offered them a place to stay when their parents hadn't accepted them. The two of them just made sense, they always had and now they were finally going to get to be together all the time.
"This is Suna Rintarou, you could leave a message, but I'd prefer you just left me alone."
Osamu sighed, this was the third time in the last couple of hours he'd tried to get hold of his partner with no luck. He knew that Suna wasn't in practice because their schedule was engrained into Osamu's brain, maybe even more so than his own so he couldn't help the worry that was coiling in the bottom of his stomach. Something must be wrong. Suna always answered, even when they were asleep, they always kept their phone on loud so that they could hear when Osamu was calling them.
"'Samu, honestly. I'm sure everything is fine. Yer over thinking it!" Atsumu called from where he was sat on the couch, Kiyoomi leaning against him, half asleep on Atsumu's shoulder.
"Shut ya trap!" Osamu snapped back, glaring at the amused look on Atsumu's face after his twins outburst.
Atsumu rolled his eyes, a smirk on his face as he went back to reading the manga he was holding in one hand, his other was running his fingers through Kiyoomi's curls.
Watching Atsumu and Kiyoomi was weird for Osamu. His brother had always been so obnoxious, loud and unapologetically himself but with Kiyoomi he was so soft, so gentle, always making sure to respect all of Kiyoomi's boundaries, always whispering comfort to them when they were overwhelmed. It was a strange view but Osamu knew that meeting and being with Kiyoomi was the best thing that had happened to Atsumu.
"I'm sure it's okay Samu," Kiyoomi reassured, not lifting their head from Atsumu's shoulder.
"I'm sure yer right," Osamu sighed, sitting down at the kitchen table, resting his phone down in front of him.
"How come ya listen to Omi and not me," Atsumu pouted, pressing a kiss to the top of Kiyoomi's head. Honestly, Osamu didn't even really know why the two of them were there although ever since Osamu had told Atsumu about his impending move, Atsumu had become more clingy, Osamu would miss him too even though he wouldn't admit it.
"Because Kiyoomi isn't full of bullshit," Osamu shouted back, ignoring the protest coming from his brother.
He could tell Atsumu was going to carry on the argument before a loud knock sounded on his front door. Osamu sighed, getting up from his spot, he was slightly confused. Hardly anybody ever came up to his apartment apart from Atsumu and Kiyoomi and they were already there. It could be one of his managers he supposed but they didn't really bother to make personal visits when a phone call would normally do just fine.
Osamu was immediately suspicious when he glanced over at the massive smirk across Atsumu's face. So Atsumu was planning something, of course he was.
He swung the door open and his jaw dropped when he saw who was on the other side.
Suna was just as breathtakingly beautiful as they always were. Their volleyball jacket was hanging across their shoulders as a duffel bag was hanging off of their arm. Their cheeks were red from the cold outside, Suna hated the cold, they always had but also hated when the summer temperatures got too warm, Osamu had already decided it was hard to win there.
"Rin," he whispered, finally letting it hit him that Suna was actually stood in front of him. He threw his arms around his partner, pulling them to his chest, not caring that their bag was now wedged between them, digging into his stomach.
"Hey Samu," Suna whispered, holding on tighter before pulling away, showing Osamu a gentle smile. "Surprise!" They smirked, throwing a smile towards Atsumu who was still smirking on the couch, Kiyoomi was now sitting up, waving to their best friend.
"W-What are you doing here? I thought you had practice until next week!" Osamu squeaked, letting Suna into the apartment and pressing a quick kiss against their lips. "I missed you so much RinRin."
"Well obviously I lied," Suna said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. They followed Osamu over to the other couch opposite Atsumu and Kiyoomi and immediately laid down with their head in Osamu's lap, putting one of Osamu's hands in their hair so he would run his fingers through it like Suna loved so much.
"Yes, I can see that," Osamu whispered, running his fingers through Suna's hair as requested. "I actually have something pretty important I need to tell ya," Osamu said nervously, making Suna sit back up so they could face their boyfriend. They reached out and rested a hand on Osamu's cheek, sensing the anxiety of their boyfriend.
"What is it?" They asked quietly, almost forgetting the other two were in the room at all. "Are you okay?"
"Yeh, I'm okay it's just, today, I finalised a lease on a new shop location," Osamu explained, letting the smile take over his face. "It's in-"
"Nagano," Suna finished, hope lighting up their eyes. "Tell me it's in Nagano." They whispered.
"It's in Nagano," Osamu assured them, leaning forward to press their lips together. "The lease starts in January around the same time you'd go back for training. O-obviously if ya don't want me to live with ya I'll find an apartment and we can still see each other every day and I'll spend the first few weeks obviously getting the place set up and-" Osamu's ramblings were cut off when Suna leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his forehead.
"I want you to live with me more than anything?"
"Really?"
"Really." Suna confirmed.
Osamu smiled softly at his partner, resting their foreheads together and letting himself enjoy this moment. Suna was really here in front of him and they were really going to get to live together in Nagano, they were going to get to properly be together just like they'd always wanted to be.
"I love you Rin."
"I love you, Samu."
"Wow, get a room," Atsumu muttered but Osamu could hear the happiness in his voice. He was happy for him, for them. He knew how much this was going to mean to them and although it was going to suck that the two of them were going to be properly apart this time, they would still see each other in the off seasons and Osamu was still going to be cheering him on every single game. Plus, Atsumu didn't need him as much as he once had, he had Kiyoomi now and Osamu trusted Kiyoomi to look after his stupid twin.
"We're in my apartment!" Osamu cried back, letting Suna settle back into his lap.
"Come on Atsu," Kiyoomi said, letting out another yawn. "We should get going."
"No, it's fine, stay the night!" Osamu replied, "we have the spare room and it's getting late now."
"Yeah, I've only just got here," Suna said, letting their eyes slip shut. "I missed you as well Kiyoomi," they said, the smirk evident in their voice at Atsumu's offended shout. "My three favourite people."
