The start of December signalled the start of the lead up to Christmas, and also the start of many peoples frenzied panic buying as they realised that time was slowly running out to get their loved ones presents for the holidays.
It was a cold, dark evening at the Schnee household, and one Ruby Rose was sitting at her girlfriend's vanity table as Weiss wielded a metallic handle, flicking the soft brush-end up and down Ruby's rosy cheeks.
The powder coated Ruby's face and gave it a certain shine. A shine that Ruby was quite fond of. Normally she'd be wearing a wide smile as Weiss did her makeup for the weekend, but today was a little different as the poor girl was struggling with, once again, pesky, invasive feelings of isolation.
"I just can't believe it's been almost a year..." Ruby said wistfully as Weiss moved onto her other cheek.
Weiss giggled softly to herself as she padded the brush into the powder, replenishing it's supply. "It has." She said, gently running the brush across Ruby's face once again. "And yet you've come here every Friday without fail."
As Weiss popped the brush back into its stand and slipped the lid back onto the powder, her smile slowly faded as she saw that Ruby continued to wear an unusual frown. Sensing something was wrong, she grabbed the back of her swivel makeup chair and spun it around so that Ruby was facing her. "I know that look." She said sternly, lightly gripping Ruby's freshly powdered cheeks in order to maintain their eye contact. "What did I tell you, little missy?"
Usually the jokingly scolding nickname did the trick and made Ruby laugh her worries away, but when her frown persisted Weiss knew that Ruby's thoughts were deep and heavy, and she quickly switched her serious mode on.
Sure enough Ruby did try to turn her head away, but when Weiss' gentle hold proved too much she sighed. "You told me to tell you all of my problems…" She said in defeat.
Weiss cocked an eyebrow up as Ruby still seemed hesitant to do exactly that. "And?"
Ruby stared into Weiss' soft, blue eyes. There was no malice or judgement there. Only care, and love, and honesty, as there always was. Ruby sighed slightly again and tried to hold back tears. She just loved Weiss so much, and couldn't believe that she was in her life. "And that...we should talk through them like a mature couple." Ruby said finally, repeating Weiss' words from long ago back to her.
"Exactly!" Weiss said triumphantly. "So, Ruby Rose, tell me what's going on in that pretty little head of yours."
The small flirt did it's job and Ruby tried hard to suppress a blush from forming on her cheeks. Weiss smiled, and the constant loving assault from her girlfriend made Ruby smile too. "Okaaaaay!" She said, relenting to Weiss' soft demeanour. "Um...well, I just...don't want to spend another Christmas as Coral…"
If Weiss didn't already know something was wrong, then the way Ruby so casually used her deadname made sure she did. "Ruby, the boy I once knew is dead, we buried him a long time ago and in his place is you, a beautiful blooming flower." Weiss was quick to reassure her partner that she never had to use her deadname again.
Her reassurance seemingly fell of ears when Ruby shook her head. "He's not dead to my family. You know that, I can't be...me in front of them!" She correctly said, causing Weiss to lower her eyes slightly.
It was true, despite being out to her girlfriend and her girlfriend's best friend, Velvet, nobody else knew the real Ruby Rose. Not even Weiss' family, who only knew that Weiss spent every weekend with her boyfriend 'Coral' up in her room doing gods knows what. In a way Weiss was lucky that her parents didn't interfere too much with her life.
The sour topic of Ruby coming out to her family had come up a few times throughout the year, but each time had been dismissed by Ruby with a wave of her hand and a cuddle into Weiss, as she hadn't quite been ready to tackle it.
But maybe, Weiss thought, this would be the one time things would change. After all, it was Christmas day last year when Ruby had first come out to Weiss. Maybe there was something special about the holiday that coaxed out Ruby's true feelings.
Or maybe it was as simple as what Ruby had said. She was tired of spending a whole day of what should be joy in a room full of essentialy strangers. "I promise you Ruby, when the time's right, I'll be there with you. Every step of the way." Weiss wielded her smile like a weapon as she pulled Ruby into a soft hug.
Ruby didn't hesitate returning the hug, sniffling up the false promise of tears as she leaned into Weiss' shoulder. "I know you will." She said with absolute confidence in her girlfriend. The two of them held their pose for a short while, long enough for Ruby to continue her train of thought which eventually led her straight to an ultimatum. "I wanna tell them Weiss." She said with a shaky yet determined voice. "I wanna tell them who I am. By Christmas."
Weiss definitely wasn't expecting that. She was sure Ruby was going to simply dismiss the thoughts again, but was instead totally surprised when Ruby sounded so certain in her resolve. "Are you sure?" She asked the nervous girl hugging her, just to be on the safe side. Ruby's reply was to lean back away from the hug and nod to Weiss a few times in quick succession.
"I want to be me." She said firmly.
The mood in the room had changed almost in an instant. While the moments prior to Ruby's mission statement were filled with dread and sadness, it was now filled with an air of hope, as Weiss' sad smile turned up into a large grin. Which in turn made Ruby smile. "I'm so proud of you, Cookie." Weiss said. "You've come so far in such a short amount of time."
Ruby began to giggle to herself. "Thanks to you!" Weiss waved off the compliment with her hand, but Ruby didn't let her get off that easily. "Oh shh, you've been an amazing help and you know it!" She said quickly, gently pushing Weiss' shoulder to make her giggle. "I've just got one last step to take…and Christmas is my Deadline."

The rest of that weekend saw Weiss keeping Ruby's spirits high with hugs and kisses and emotional support. She knew that Ruby was taking on a monumental task when she made the decision to come out to her parents, and while Weiss wanted to make sure it was Ruby's decision, she had to make sure that Ruby actually stayed true to her word and didn't back out.
They both knew that it was a very healthy step to take, both for Ruby and her family, but it was still a hard thing to think about. The rest of the week passed without much incident, with Ruby distracting herself with sports and schoolwork in order to not think about the looming challenge of coming out to her family. After all, she had told herself, it was future Ruby's problem.
When the following Friday finally rolled around, Ruby was excited to go back up to the warmth and comfort of Weiss' room in order to spend another weekend as herself with her doting girlfriend.
But alas it was not to be, as Weiss was quick to remind her that they had promised to go on a double date with their friends Coco and Velvet to see 'Blood Stained Fangs III', the latest instalment in the groups favourite horror franchise. Ruby may have been excited for the time out with her friends, both of which were very dear to her, but there was one glaring issue with them. Or rather, with one of them.
"Hey Coral, congrats on acing the 100m sprint! You're unstoppable, kid!" Coco said with glee as the group of friends made their way through the old town of Vale and towards the newly renovated cinema at the end of the high street.
Ruby cringed slightly, as she always did when her uninformed friend called her by the name she had long since ditched. But she didn't dare make a scene, after all she didn't want to ruin their night out. She instead forced a confident laugh as she turned her head away from Coco. "Heh, oh yeah, thanks...Coco…" She said somewhat lamely.
Velvet, already knowing how Ruby got when Coco referred to her with her deadname, was quick to jump into the fray and offer her support. "It was a close one though, Coco...I don't think Rose wants to talk about it." She said, trying to deflect attention away from Ruby while carefully picking her words. Both herself and Weiss had decided to call Ruby by the nickname 'Rose' in an effort to avoid using 'Ruby' while around Coco. Unfortunately the pet nickname didn't take as Coco thought Coral 'sounded cooler'.
Ruby suddenly felt a comforting hand on her back, instantly recognising the small palm as Weiss'. The little confidence booster allowed her to raise her head up, just in time for Coco's reply. "Nah, I mean it Coral, you're like...the fastest boy I know!"
Ruby couldn't help but freeze up. Coco's kind words were like gunshots to Ruby's very character, and she felt conflicted on how she should feel. On the one hand she was getting complimented by a friend, something that would make most people happy. But on the other she felt like the compliments weren't aimed at her.
They were aimed at Coral.
A boy she had said goodbye to almost a year ago.
The thought made her seize up. Ruby's face slowly started to look panicked seemingly out of nowhere. "I'm sorry...I can't do this…" She muttered to herself, turning away from the group and heading straight towards a bench on the other side of the street, wiping away freshly forming tears with the back of her hoodie sleeve.
"Was it something I said….?" Coco asked innocently after Ruby slumped down onto the bench. She had known that her red-haired friend did this on occasion, but this particular mood swing seemed to come from nowhere. She also knew the protocol from last time; Weiss would be the first one to head over and comfort her. Sure enough, just as the thought entered Coco's head Weiss dashed across the street and towards her girlfriend.
Coco watched on as Weiss crouched down in front of Ruby, placing her hands on Ruby's knees in comfort as she did so. "Let's give them some room, Coco." She heard Velvet say from beside her.
Her sad eyes didn't leave Weiss and Ruby as she replied to her girlfriend. "I just...don't get it. Vel', did I say something wrong?" She turned to look at Velvet only to see her shaking her head. "Be honest with me, Vel'. This isn't the first time this has happened. Does Coral not like me or something?"
She saw Velvet's eyes widen in surprise. "No no, what? Coco they love you, I mean, you and I are pretty much their best friends." Coco nodded along, assuming that by 'they' Velvet was referring to both Ruby and Weiss. But then Velvet said something that confused her. "Apart from Weiss, of course...but she is their girlfriend."
Coco narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean by 'they'? Is Coral…?" She asked, confused as to why Velvet wasn't saying 'he'. Before her girlfriend could explain what she meant, the two of them heard approaching footsteps as the red and white duo made their way back towards them from across the way.
Coco turned to the pair, wondering if she was going to get any answers. "...you can do it, Ruby." She overheard Weiss say as they drew closer. The quiet reassurance only added to Coco's confusion, as she had no idea who Ruby was.
The tension was high as all four girls were silent. It seemed like at least three of them wanted to speak up, but none of them could bring themselves to do it. That was until Ruby finally opened her mouth. "Coco I...have something I need to tell you…"
It was a little surprising for Coco to see her usually energetic friend look so forlorn. But she knew that whatever was about to leave Ruby's mouth wouldn't have mattered. Coco had promised, as she did to all her friends, to be there for them and be as supportive as she could be. But despite all that, nothing prepared her for what Ruby said next.
"Over this past year I've been sort of...Finding Myself…you know, figuring myself out." Coco hung onto her every word, gripped by Ruby's mysterious confession. "And um...I'm a….I'm a girl!" Ruby blurted out, quickly and bashfully despite Weiss' prior confidence boosting. "I'm a trans girl, and I want to be called Ruby!"
"Ooooh..." When Coco reacted with a long droning noise, poor Ruby almost burst into tears, but Coco's reply came swiftly after and stopped those tears dead in their tracks. "It's nice to meet you, Ruby." She said simply, extending a hand for the redhead to take.
Ruby blinked her tears away, confused for a moment before catching on to what Coco meant. She tentatively raised up her hand, sliding it into Coco's waiting palm and shaking it. Coco's smile held true as she returned the handshake, and Ruby began to giggle wildly as she realised that she was being accepted so easily. She yanked Coco's arm and pulled the older girl into a hug. "Coco! Oh gods it's so nice to finally meet you!" She practically cheered into Coco's shoulder.
Ruby's laugh was infectious, and pretty soon Coco found herself laughing along with the rest of the group. "It's so good to finally get to meet you too, Ruby!" She looked at Weiss over Ruby's shoulder who proceeded to send Coco a quick wink. "Wait a sec...Rose…?" She swiftly put two and two together and rotated Ruby in such a way in order to send a glare at Velvet while still entwined in the loving hug. "How long have you known?!" She asked in mock anger.
Velvet's laugh faded slightly as she was suddenly put under scrutiny. "Only a few months!" She said quickly, making a heart with her hands as Coco began to frown at her. "Forgive me, okay! It wasn't exactly my place to tell you"
Coco maintained her frown, only for a moment, before smirking at the apologetic Velvet. "You're forgiven." She said before turning her attention back to the young girl latching onto her. "I'm proud of you kid. Thank you for trusting me with this." With a gentle tap onto Ruby's back signalling the end of the hug, Coco pulled away and smiled warmly down at her friend.
Ruby smiled too as she felt a heavy fog lift from her soul. "Thank you! It's not that I didn't trust you before, it's just…" Ruby paused and tilted her head slightly, struggling to find the right words. "...Hard to just say something like this, you know?"
Thankfully for her, Coco knew the feeling all too well. "Don't worry Ruby, I went through something similar coming out to my parents." She raised her shoulder in a sort of half shrug. "But they still love me so it couldn't have been all bad." Ruby's smile didn't waver for even a second as Coco treated her like she was the most normal girl in the world.
The smaller redhead baulked slightly as Coco reminded Ruby that coming out to her was only one small step, and that a much bigger challenge still loomed around the corner. "So outside of Velvet and Weiss, you're the first person to, uh, know about me…" Ruby was glad Coco was so accepting about this whole thing. "I still need to come out to my parents and...it won't be easy."
Coco chuckled slightly, once again thinking back to that same conversation with her own family. "I feel that! I promise Ruby, I'll be here every step of the way." Despite offering her support, Coco still had one burning question in regards to her friend. "So how long have you….known? About yourself?"
"About a year….since last Christmas." Coco's eyes widened in surprise, not expecting it to have been that long ago. The shock didn't deter Ruby, who continued to explain her feelings from a year ago. "For a while leading up to it I just felt like A Part Of Me was missing, you know?" Ruby tried her best for her thoughts to make sense. "After a while I spoke to Weiss about it. She was so lovely and supportive." Behind her, Weiss smiled and reached an arm out to take Ruby's hand in hers, not wanting to speak and interrupt Ruby's story.
Ruby smiled as she felt her girlfriends touch, and happily continued recounting the events of last Christmas night. "Anyway, she was incredibly supportive to me….and eventually we came to a conclusion that I was trans, and just like that Ruby was born!"
Coco hummed as she took in the story. "Ruby….so it's Ruby Xiao-Long?"
The question caused Ruby to shake her head. "We decided that since I was finally being true to myself that I should change my surname. So I kinda took my mom's…"
"Ruby Rose huh? I like it!" Coco smirked down at the younger girl, even going so far as to ruffle her hair. "It's cute." She said, chuckling alongside Ruby's embarrassed giggles. "Anyway Ruby, since I'm new to this whole thing, lemme know if I cross any boundaries! I don't wanna say the wrong thing."
Ruby nodded happily as her name kept getting used. The repetition made her feel warm and fuzzy, and pushed away the memories of Coco using her deadname. "Uhhh..I'm pretty tough! Just try not to use my old name again and I should be good!" She said with a firm nod. The way Coco was so thoughtful about the situation made both Ruby and Weiss' hearts soar. Ruby subconsciously knew that Coco wouldn't have exactly been insensitive, but it was still reassuring to get confirmation.
Weiss stepped forward and slung an arm around Ruby's shoulder, proud of the leap she had just made. "Thank you Coco, your support means a lot to us." She giggled to herself slightly as she spoke. "You have no idea how much she was freaking out over there." Weiss nodded her head towards the bench on the other side of the street, and her little joke made Ruby whine in mock anger.
"Hey, gimme a break okay!" Ruby's whining was met with multiple apologies from a snickering Weiss.
Coco watched the scene in front of her unfold, happy that Ruby's mood had been overwhelmingly positive since she came out. She had a feeling that Ruby would be riding that high for a while. "Now, I may not be the 'trans expert' here, but I do know fashion...and I'm going to field a guess and say you'd rather be in a skirt right now." She said, winking down at her friend, who was looking more and more confident as the minutes went by.
Ruby's eyes practically shone like diamonds. "Yes! A red one that goes down to my knees! Oh oh, and a sparkly red sweater to match, I saw a really good one at Freedom's the other day, and-!" Ruby forced herself to stop when she saw Coco's face, and the moment she did all three of the other girls burst into laughter, causing Ruby's cheeks to go as red as the sweater she was pining after.
In order to ease Ruby's embarrassment, Weiss brought her into a quick hug and held her close. "You're so adorable." She whispered into her girlfriend's ear.
Coco managed to calm down her laughter enough to propose an idea to the girl she now knew as Ruby. "Hey, Blood Stained Fangs isn't going anywhere, how about we hit the town instead?" She started to grin as the idea grew in her mind.
The offer came as a bit of a surprise to Ruby who widened her eyes in shock. "Wait you...you mean shopping? Right now?!"
Coco nodded vigorously. "I sure do! We can go to Freedom's and get you that skirt and sweater combo, and Vel' can even do your hair!"
"I do a mean ponytail." Velvet chimed in with a smile of her own.
Even Weiss jumped onto the idea. "What do you think, Ruby? It'll be a regular girls day out!"
Ruby's mood had pulled a complete reversal from what it was just a few minutes ago, and she squealed as the idea of a girly shopping trip wormed its way into her mind. "Yes! Please! That sounds amazing!"
As it turns out none of the group needed a lot of convincing, and before long the four of them were giggling to each other whilst asking Ruby about all the clothes she had wanted to get for so long. Coming out to Coco had managed to turn an average day out to the movies into an incredible day out shopping.
The day out managed to prove that coming out and revealing her true self was a good thing, and an evening with the girls helped strengthen Ruby's confidence. And she knew she needed all the confidence she could get before Christmas day the following week.

It seemed like absolutely no time had passed as Christmas eve finally rolled around. Ruby felt like she had barely any time to prepare, but she had no intentions of backing out now, regardless of how scared she was.
Ruby knew all too well that she was cutting her 'by Christmas' deadline rather close, but she wasn't too torn up about it. It was still a surprise to her that she was ready at all, even if there were only a few hours left before the big day.
Ruby couldn't stop her hands from shaking as she made her way down the stairs in her house and towards her family. Weiss was beside her all the while, but even the presence of her girlfriend didn't calm the butterflies in her stomach.
Ruby walked into the cramped living room, side by side with her trusting girlfriend. As she entered she felt four pairs of eyes boring into her. Her parents, Summer and Taiyang, as well as her sister Yang, and her girlfriend Blake.
Regardless of the warm smiles her family wore, Ruby still felt that their piercing gazes were judging her every move. She subtly slipped her hand into Weiss', her sweaty palm gripping her girlfriend's hand tightly in order to anchor her in the situation.
Time seemed to freeze as Ruby struggled to find the words she had spent all day practising. She deeply inhaled and then promptly exhaled, before finally getting the courage to speak up. "U-um...guys?" She said rather lamely. "I have something to tell-" She stopped to nervously gulp, something which made half the room frown in worry.
Just as Ruby was about to squeal and run out of the doorway, back into the safety of the hall, she felt a warm breath on her face before suddenly feeling Weiss' lips press a kiss into her cheek, whilst simultaneously tightening the grip on her hand.
The small act was enough to bolster Ruby's resolve, and she nodded firmly to herself, continuing her confession. "Well, I'm um...I'm t-transgender. I use she/her pronouns now and um...I would like to go by the name R-Ruby."
Ruby had spent the intervening time since coming out to Coco in improving her wording. After all, Weiss said that her wording last time was a little awkward and rushed. The ensuing silence was both a blessing and a curse. It allowed Ruby to calm down and catch her breath, but the longer people went without speaking the more worried she became.
Rather unsurprisingly, the boisterous and excitable Yang spoke up first. "Wait, what?! That's awesome to hear!" She stood up from her seat next to Blake and jogged towards her sister. Ruby wasn't given enough time to escape one of Yang's crushing bear hugs. "And Ruby is such a cute name!"
While Ruby was thankful that Yang was taking the news in stride, she didn't have time to get a word out as Yang locked her into a warm embrace. Ruby's mother was the next to speak up as she also rose from her spot and clasped her hands together in joy. "Oh that's so exciting to hear! We love you, Ruby." She added as Ruby was finally released from Yang's hug.
"I'm proud of you, Ruby!" Blake said from her spot on the couch. She had only been dating Yang for about a month, but the whole family quickly fell in love with the raven haired Faunus. And she herself felt that love in return, especially when her girlfriend's little sister seemingly trusted her enough to come out to her as well.
Yang backed away to let Summer take her spot in hugging Ruby lovingly. Ruby had begun to cry happy tears at some point during the confession, and Summer instinctively wiped them away with her sleeve. After a moment of pure love emanating from the room, Taiyang finally broke his silence as he too stood up from his spot. "Let me get this straight…" He said slowly as he stepped towards the hugging trio.
So far things had been a massive success for Ruby, and everybody was eager to meet the new family member that had just come out to them. But her fathers words were enough to send an icy chill up Ruby's spine, and she became suddenly aware that she hadn't considered that he may be bitter about losing his only son.
He placed his hands on his hips and tried his best to hide a smirk as he posed his daughter a question. "So you're trans?" Ruby slowly nodded in response, her grip on Weiss' hand tightening while getting interrogated. "Does that make me see through?"
Taiyang's next question brought confusion to everyone's faces, Yang included even as she was preparing herself to defend her little sister. Even more odd was how Tai's smirk grew into a grin. "You know, cause I'm trans-parent?!"
The confusion evaporated into thin air as Taiyang managed to turn a tense situation into a joyful one. "There's a time and a place, Tai!" Summer scolded her husband, even through the laughter of all the other girls in the room.
Yang shared a high-five with her dad, and Ruby followed suit just a moment later. "Hey, puns are how I show my love!" He said in defence as Summer scowled at him. Thankfully Tai understood enough to know that puns weren't a replacement for love, and he stepped forward to hug his new daughter as well. "Seriously though Ruby, I'm very proud of you. Your mother and I will be here for you, no matter what happens."
Tai's kind words allowed Ruby's happy tears to resume. All of her hard work and stressing out had paid off, as now her family knew all about her true self. She could add her home as another trusted sanctuary, and never again would she have to worry about panicking about clothes or deadnames or hair complaints. She could truly, finally be herself.
Weiss watched in glee as the family continued to share their loving embrace. She was truly happy for Ruby to finally be free. "We'll have to go to Qrow's at some point, he'd love to meet his niece." Tai idly said. "Raven oughta know too." He mused. In truth, he was just excited to tell more people how proud he was of his daughter.
"We'll have to give you an official name change too!" Summer spoke up next, coaxing a delighted giggle out of Ruby. "Ruby is just too precious."
Their shared hug naturally came to its conclusion, with the only person left holding Ruby being her dear, protective older sister. Said sister suddenly gasped when another idea popped into her head. "Hey mom, what about school? Can we get Ruby re-enrolled as a girl?" Yang asked excitedly.
While Ruby was a little surprised about how fast things were moving, she wasn't put off by it in the slightest. After all, she had assumed her biggest hurdle would be earning her family's acceptance. But now that it was no longer an issue, Ruby saw no reason not to immerse herself entirely in her new life.
All the positive encouragement as well as her family's constant usage of Ruby had made her the happiest girl in the world, and the feeling was only amplified when Weiss hugged her from behind. "Told you you could do it." Weiss almost whispered as she pressed a kiss into the back of Ruby's neck.
Ruby had a hard time hiding her happy blush as Weiss held her close. Weiss was right: it had been a lot easier than Ruby was making it out to be, but even still she knew she couldn't have done it without the help of her supportive girlfriend. "Thank you for believing in me Weiss...I love you so much."
"I love you too, Dolt." Weiss replied without hesitation.
Their romantic hug was broken up when Yang asked Ruby a probing question. "So, if I can ask, how long have you known about yourself?" The words may have left Yang's lips, but it was obvious by the way that they looked at Ruby that the question was on everybody else's mind as well.
Ruby had expected the question, and was more than happy to explain her fateful Christmas day the year prior. "Well, it's like this..."

The following morning was a culture shock to Ruby. The day prior she was still trapped in a cycle of waking up as Coral and being unable to live the life that she had wanted to for so long. But now she could wake up and be herself, especially since she had her supportive family behind her every step of the way.
And what a family it was. As soon as the black and yellow pair of Blake and Yang were awake, they allowed Ruby into their room in order to give her a really girly Christmas morning. Specifically, she was having her makeup done and her hair cared for by the three older girls.
"Do you remember The First Time I sat you at my vanity? It was the day after Christmas." Weiss said idly as she ran a silver, sparkly hair brush through Ruby's steadily growing hair. "Almost a year ago…"
Ruby giggled at the memory. "I would never have imagined that I'd be here in my sister's room doing the same thing. And do you wanna know the best part?" Ruby didn't even pause to allow any of the other girls to take a guess. "I did it before my Christmas deadline!"
"I'm so proud of you Rubes!" Yang said in glee as she finished up with Ruby's eyeshadow. "It takes a lot of guts to do that in front of so many people. Trust me, you're gonna be so much happier with that weight off your shoulders.”
Obviously she had had her makeup done before many times, over at Weiss' place, but this was the first time Ruby had three different people all fawning over her to make her look as feminine as possible. "I just can't believe it…" Ruby muttered as she shook her head at her reflection. "it's like….a Fairytale Is Coming True, right before my very eyes…"
Weiss giggled slightly as she helped Ruby stand up fully from the vanity seat. "It's coming true for all of us, Ruby. I promise you each and every person here wants what's best for you." Weiss grinned at her girlfriend as she marched the two of them to the door. "Now get down there and show the world the girl Ruby Rose is Destined to be!"
With a new, confident swagger to her walk Ruby Rose descended the stairs once more, dressed up in her usual pyjamas but with a visage fit for a Princess.
This Christmas marked the start of the rest of Ruby Rose's life. And what a wonderful life it was shaping up to be.
