Summary
Joaquín finds an old The Falcon and the White Wolf Workout! tape at Old Man Steve's garage sale. He decides to play it for nostalgia's sake.
EXCERPT:
He even remembered this cover; he used to pull it out to just stare at the two men. Captain America in what was either a very convincing curly mullet wig or legitimately grown out his hair just for this tape; the leotard with the belt and the spandex pants and scrunchy socks and a headband, all striking neon colors. White Wolf with a scrunch in his hair and sky-high bangs, high-cut fitness briefs over his biker shorts, slouchy sweatshirt that always reminded Joaquín of Flashdance, leg warmers, all wild prints, even his futuristic prosthetic.
Before Joaquín knew it, he was looking up at Old Man Steve, asking, “How much for this?”
Old Man Steve looked at the VHS.
He looked at Joaquín.
He smirked.
“Free of charge,” said Old Man Steve, patting Joaquín’s shoulder, and maybe Joaquín should be more worried about that weird interaction, but Joaquín was a little distracted by the fact that oh wow, he owned this video now.
