Chapter Text

One thing about Riki was that he was a reckless child. Some could agree he was cool, most could say he was very medically concerning. Riki's friends? They thought the latter.

"How are you still alive?" Sunoo asked,

Riki shrugged, "I can smell colors."

"Yeah, let's get you to the school clinic," Jungwon sighed. "Please don't do this often,"

"Don't plan to,"

"...But will you?" Sunoo muttered,

"No promises."

"Somehow you've been injured enough times for us to be well acquainted with the nurse," Jungwon pointed out. "I'd prefer to not have gone that far."

"Hey, Hanbin hyung is a great friend!"

"He lets us play on his phone while we wait for him to get more ice," Sunoo nodded.

"...And why, exactly, were you in there when you had class?" Jungwon asked rhetorically,

"To be there for my friend?" He tried,

"Nope."

"...To get out of math class,"

"There we go."

"Can we please get to Hanbin hyung now? My arm hurts like hell,"

"Nishimura Riki, I swear, you'll be the death of me," Jungwon mumbled.

Five minutes later, Riki and Sunoo were (as Riki said, "vibing") in the school clinic.

"What was it this time?" Hanbin asked,

"Spider bit his arm. Couldn't think right for a few days," Sunoo sighed.

Riki shrugged. "I like to think that I was cool for going through it,"

"You screeched at a blank wall, somehow monotonous, for three minutes straight."

"This isn't what med school prepared me for," Hanbin muttered, grabbing a bottle of iodine. He was working at the school part-time to help pay for university. It didn't pay as well as expected, but it certainly helped.

"Maybe next semester?" Riki said,

"Currently learning about anesthesiology," he said, pouring iodine onto the scar.

"Like tylenol."

"Let me guess, you know that through a true crime video?"

"Ooh, you watch true crime too!" Riki said excitedly,

"Nope, last week a student got a bad migraine. After some pain killers, he started rambling about true crime,"

"Once Riki was so sleep deprived that he called a teacher's assistant 'mothman'." Sunoo said,

Hanbin nodded, peeling the backing of a bandaid. “Lee Heeseung?"

"Oh, you know him?"

"When you’re an extrovert who works shifts with children, you know many things." Hanbin said, putting the bandaid on RIki’s arm. “You’re good to go, kid.”

“Thanks, hyung,” Sunoo said. “I’ll try to prevent him from getting injured again,”

“Anytime,” Hanbin grinned. “Stay safe!”

Off the two boys went to class.
