Chapter Text
The lights shone down on their sweaty bodies as loud cheers engulfed the stadium. The stage lift began to descend concluding another successful performance.
The moment they were out of sight, Freddy reached his hand up to wipe the sweat off his face until someone grabbed his hand.
He looked up to see Bonnie smiling at him, handing him his handkerchief.
“You did great out there, but you might not want to smudge your face paint.”
Freddy let out a small chuckle, using the handkerchief to dab at his forehead.
“Ah, you’re right. I tend to forget sometimes.”
Bonnie then turned to their other two bandmates.
“You guys were great too! I think those extra practices we hold are really working.”
Chica grinned and nodded in agreement while Roxanne shrugged her shoulders.
“I think I’ve always been this great… but thanks anyway,” she boasted, pushing her fingers through her hair.
The lift came to a stop and every one advanced to their personal dressing rooms.
“Psst. Freddy.”
Hearing the familiar voice from behind, he turned around to face Bonnie once more.
The other cupped his face and pecked his cheek.
“You seemed a little dizzy on stage today… Are you alright?”
Freddy laughed and nodded.
“Of course. I was whipping my head around too fast is all. No need to worry about me.”
Bonnie’s thumb caressed his face gently as he nodded.
“That’s good. Be sure to drink lots of water, okay?”
“I will.”
“Good.”
Freddy leaned forward and pecked his lips.
“I love you~” he cooed, causing Bonnie to let out a small chuckle.
“I love you too, superstar.”
“Hello? Earth to Freddy? Dude, snap out of it.”
Freddy blinked a few times before looking up, a bit dazed.
“Huh?”
“Were you even paying attention?”
“Y-Yeah. Of course!”
Chica let out a sigh and shook her head.
“Seriously guys. What should we do about this weather?”
Freddy turned to look out the window. Rain poured onto the area, showing no signs of stopping any time soon. Dark clouds covered the sun, taking away the bright blue sky and turning it into a depressing gray instead.
“We should just cancel. No one’s going to come to a concert when the weather is like this,” Freddy suggested, fiddling with his left earring.
Chica nodded. “That’s what I was saying. Besides, we already had a rain date set up in case something like this happened. I’ll notify our manager.”
“I’ll come with you,” Roxanne hummed, making Chica smile.
“Sounds great. Enjoy your day off boys! We need it.”
Once the girls left the hotel room, Freddy glanced at the man standing next to him.
“Fucking hell,” he muttered. “A little rain doesn’t hurt anyone! We should be out there, getting ready to perform!”
“Monty, it’s no big deal. This tour still has six more stops and we’ve been performing for five days straight already. I think a rest day is necessary.”
Montgomery scowled under his breath, plopping himself on the bed with a sigh.
“Bullshit.” Freddy rolled his eyes, getting up from his seat. “Hey, what was your deal earlier? Something on your mind?”
Freddy stared at Montgomery for a few seconds. The question was too forced. He could tell, but it’s not like he could answer truthfully either.
“I was just thinking about yesterday’s performance.” A smirk found its way on the man’s face.
“I was pretty hot out there, wasn’t I?” he gloated, beckoning him over. Freddy complied, sitting down by side him.
“Yeah. It’s a bit embarrassing now that I say it out loud.”
Montgomery let out a chuckle, wrapping an arm around him.
“I, for one, think it’s cute that you think about me. I mean who can blame you? It is me, after all.” He pressed a hard kiss against his face before whispering in his ear, “I think I’ll head out for a smoke. Want to join me?”
Freddy could feel a tingle run down his spine. The lust that was laced in his voice made his intentions obvious. Instead of cracking under the pressure, Freddy pulled away with a small laugh and gently pushed him away.
“You know I don’t smoke, Monty. Go ahead, I’ll catch up with you later.”
Montgomery frowned slightly and stood up.
“Alright. Don’t keep me waiting for too long. I’ll miss you~”
Freddy waved him off. “Yes, yes. I know. I’ll miss you too.”
Once the door was shut behind him, Freddy pressed his face into his hands. He wasn’t planning on meeting up with him.
Today marked the third anniversary of the day that Bonnie had gone missing. It’s a day that he refuses to forget, but it’s not like he could even if he wanted to. His life had shattered when he heard the news.
The search for his lover lasted a week; a pathetic seven days. After that, everyone assumed that he purposely made sure that he wouldn’t be found. Everyone forgot about him. They thought Bonnie betrayed them, but Freddy didn’t.
He believed that if Bonnie never hurt his ankle that day, he would still be here with him.
