Work Text:
Wild liked Wind's world well enough.
Yesterday they had a beach day. That was cause enough for celebration. Especially because he was able to watch Wind's attempts at teaching Warriors, Hyrule, and Four how to swim.
However, the issue with a world being mostly water was that they were stuck on Outset island until Tetra and her crew came along.
So there they were walking to the top of Outset Island because Time wanted them to look over the whole island.
The place was so small that it was a fairly easy task.
He stood at the front with Warriors and Twilight listening to Wind's stories of his adventures and island.
Wild loved kids, he let them climb all over him and loved listening to their every word.
Wind being a Hero just happened to make Wind the coolest kid ever.
Behind them were Time and Sky chatting quietly, then a very silent Legend and a very worried Hyrule, finally Four taking up the rear.
Legend had been off ever since they touched down on Outset Island. Less rude but blatantly unhappy.
It was disturbing to see the life so utterly sucked out of the Vet.
Four was probably keeping Legend and Hyrule from straggling too far.
"And then I went to the basement and it was full of ReDeads!"
Both Twilight and Warriors instantly cringed.
"What's a ReDead?" Wild asked, curious about what would cause that kind of reaction.
Maybe they were like Hixnoxs?
All three snapped to look at him.
"I have no fucking clue how to answer that." Wind said bluntly, before unsubtly turning to Warriors and Twilight so they would answer instead.
"Don't ask me about magic bullshit enemies." Twilight said, throwing his hands up.
"ReDead Knights are—" Warriors began.
"Knights?" Wind asked incredulously.
"Are they not supposed to be knights?" Twilight questioned.
"Fuck no!" Wind answered vehemently. "They bite you!"
"Fucking what?!" Warriors exclaimed, while Twilight went pale and sputtered incoherently.
"They don't bite you in your Hyrule pup?" Time asked, causing them all to turn around.
Wild caught a glimpse of the stragglers.
Legend, Hyrule, and Four were lagging on the bridge looking over the side. Well, more like Legend was lagging and Hyrule and Four refused to leave him alone.
"They stab you, they don't bite!" Twilight said, and Time solemnly shook his head.
"They never learned true fear." Time said directly to Wind, and Wind nodded gravely in agreement.
"How do they get close enough to bite you?" Sky asked leaning on the end pike of the bridge, while they waited for Legend and Hyrule to remember they existed.
Warriors, Twilight, Time, and Wind all made twin grimaces.
"Yeah, how do they get that close?" Wild said as he sat down on the ground.
"They scream." Twilight said, frowning deeply. "It's the worst sound ever created by anything."
"It's also magic." Time added. "It stuns you, so they can bite you."
"What happens when they bite you?" Sky asked.
"Pain ." Wind said deadpan. "Pain happens."
The small group burst out into giggles, even Time chuckled at Wind's joke.
"You know—" Wind started with his usual exuberance.
Their sailor was known for his expressive face, which is why it was so concerning when his face went completely blank.
"Wind–" Warriors said, reaching out and Wild looked up to see Sky and Twilight with expressions of horror.
Wind jumped to his feet, shoving Warriors out of his way, running right up to the entrance to the old damaged drawbridge.
"GET THE FUCK OFF THE BRIDGE!" Wind screamed at full volume, visibly startling the three looking at the ocean.
Hyrule instantly looked around, gasped at something, and shoved Legend forward.
Wild turned his head and holy shit that was a big bird.
It was giant with deep purple and red wings with black accents. Its dark yellow and green tail swished with each flap of its terrifying wings.
Wild's blood went cold. The thing's eyes were blood red and it was breathing out the malice smog that Wild had seen everywhere in his Hyrule.
"It's infected." Warriors said gravely.
Hyrule, Four, and Legend we're running towards them and–
Wind, Sky, and Twilight we're sprinting towards the other heroes. Wild, Time and Warriors pulling out their bows.
Wild pulled out his beloved ancient bow and pulled out a single ancient arrow.
The normal arrows from Time and Warriors didn't even scratch the thing's skin.
Wild's arrow struck true and the creature screeched in pain but didn't stop.
"It's too big–" Wild stuttered, looking at the small gash of flesh he took out.
"I can't– I can't–" Wild said, looking at Warriors helplessly.
"Old man," Warriors said, not taking his eyes off the bird. "Light arrows."
The bird was terrifyingly fast and was nearly on top of the other Heroes.
Warriors shoved the arrow into Wild's hand, and he lined it up on his bow on instinct.
Wild let the arrow loose at the, this time the thing did more than screech.
It stopped flying and started hovering, stopped due to the pain in its side.
It flailed causing its talons to hit the bridge as it tried to stop in the air.
Hyrule went over the side.
The bird got its bearings back.
Hyrule can't swim.
Legend jumped over after him.
Four was by himself on the far side of the bridge.
In an instant, Four was snatched off the rickety bridge, but the bird didn't get far.
Sky whip was wrapped around the monster's leg, Wild doesn't even think that he saw Sky take it out, and Twilight was using his strength to pull the whip and force the monster still. Wind was using his grappling rope to grab Four. Him and Sky trying to pull Four out of the bird's grasp.
"This bridge isn't going to be able to handle much more of this." Warriors said as Time handed Wild another light arrow.
Wild aimed at the bird, hoping the pain would force it to drop Four.
"Aim for the meat of the leg and not the talon. It could be armor." Warriors said and Wild nodded, adjusting his aim.
As soon as Wild let go of the arrow, the bird tucked its wings in and spun, throwing Sky, Twilight, and Wind into the ocean. Wild's arrow missed by a mile, as the bird sped off too far for Wild to hit in an instant.
Warriors cursed up a storm in clear horror and frustration.
Wild was shocked still.
Four was just taken.
"It must have slowed down to grab Four." Time said gravely.
Wild looked at the half-destroyed bridge that most of his brothers fell off of, that Four was stolen off of.
"We need to regroup." Warriors said putting his hand on Wild's shoulder, probably trying to steady himself as much as he was steadying Wild.
--
Wind swam to shore, collapsing on the beach, hacking up small amounts of water.
"Shit." Wind said, rolling his sore wrists.
He had gone into the diving position as soon as he was thrown off the beach, well aware of how solid water can be if you hit it from high enough or in the wrong position.
His hands still hurt from the force of hitting the water, but that was the least of his problems because...
"Shit." He snarled as he looked up.
Because Four was gone.
--
Warriors stepped out of Wind's way as he marched up to Wild, his hair still dripping with water.
"What did you do to hurt it?" Wind's voice was flat, hard, and left no room for fluff.
"Time's light arrows." Wild answered quickly, still reeling from the shock.
"Ask around for light arrows, while I get the boat ready." Wind said. "We leave in two hours tops."
"I thought you didn't have a boat to travel in?" Time asked not unkindly.
"It can only fit two of us uncomfortably." Wind answered. "When Tetra comes, tell her that me and Wild went after the Helmaroc King, she'll take you after us." With that Wind turned around to go get his boat, leaving Wild in stunned silence.
Wind was never serious.
Despite his claims at not being a kid, he was constantly goofing off, and joking around, and well acting like a kid!
"Wild." Time said, catching his attention.
Wild looked over to the older Hero to see the man holding a small bundle of only four Light Arrows.
"It's not much. The only reason I have any is because my Zelda can't actually make Light arrows, only enchant normal ones with the power of Hylia's Light magic." He explains pressing them into Wild's hands, and—
"I don't like this." Warriors said frowning before Wild could even process what was going on. "He's a child."
Time sighed.
"I agree with you." Time put his hand comfortingly on Warrior's shoulder. "But it's too late for that." Time said bluntly. "No one that young should've been asked to save the world, but he was. He knows this enemy, he's probably killed it before. Wind is the most knowledgeable about this situation. Those are just the facts of the situation."
"I don't like it." Wild echoed Warriors' words, finally able to explain his feelings. "Someone should have been to protect him, he was too young."
"Someone should have been there for all of you!" Warriors snapped, more at himself than at Wild. Wild cringed at blatant self-loathing in his gaze. "Me and Sky we're seventeen when we started our adventure, and none of you were afforded the same courtesy!"
"We should be able to protect him." Warriors said sadly. "Give him something like a normal childhood even when we're being dragged around like toys."
Warriors shot Time a meaningful glance. "We're the adults here. We should be able to do something."
The way Warriors spoke was desperate. Like he knew what he was asking was impossible but still wanted it more than anything.
Time's face was downright mournful, and Wild was starting to feel like he was intruding.
"We do as much as we can." Time responded with a deep sadness in his voice.
Wild could tell by Time's face that he wasn't happy with that answer, but it was the best one he could give.
Wild quickly turned to walk away, leaving the adults to their grief.
--
Wind stumbled to the doc where his recreation of the King of Red Lions sat.
He had nearly fallen on his face multiple times, feeling like the first time he ever stepped foot on a boat.
Off-balance.
"Fuck." He muttered to himself once he was sure no one was around. "Fuck, fuck, fuck fuck. "
Tears were spilling down his face now and he couldn't do anything to stop them.
It happened again.
A member of his family was taken by that stupid fucking bird right in front of his fucking eyes again and he couldn't do shit!
Again!
Wind collapsed on his knees in the sand, body shaking from the force of his sobs.
He could see Aryll being taken right in front of his eyes.
He remembered it like it was yesterday and he hated it.
She had screamed so loud for him to save her and he couldn't do anything!
All he managed to do was run off the side of the mountain in blind rage trying to reach his baby sister, only kept from falling by Tetra's quick reflexes.
At least he did slightly more this time, Wind though bitterly, not like he accomplished much at all.
Four’s face was clear as day when he was held in those things talons.
Four was one of the calmest members of the chain. He didn't scream, he didn't call for help. He grabbed onto the makeshift line Wind had given him, and kept his fear to his eyes.
Wind could see Four's eyes wide in terror, taking on such a bright red color that they were almost hard to look at.
Four's eyes would be seared into his mind just as hauntingly as Aryll's screams.
Wind allows himself a moment longer to sob, letting all the feelings that were weighing on him out, before he stood up.
Wind needed to save Four and quickly.
Crying was not helpful.
He wasn't going to leave Four in the clutches of that thing, not any longer than he had to.
Not the months he had to leave Aryll with it because he was too weak to do anything to save her.
He was going to do this right.
He's not making the same mistakes again.
--
"YOU GUYS OKAY?" Wild yelled to the group of cold and wet Heroes on the other end of the beach.
Twilight and Sky were standing talking to each other, startled out of their conversation by Wild's yelling.
Twilight tilted his head to Legend and Hyrule, and Wild suddenly knew the answer to his question.
Hyrule was clinging to Legend who actually wrapped his arms over his chest where Hyrule was holding. It was the closest Legend would get to clinging back to Hyrule. Hyrule wrapped up in Sky's sailcloth.
They both looked incredibly shaken, eyes small and shivering. Though Wild didn't doubt that it was for different reasons.
Wild picked up his pace to Legend and Hyrule, stopping a few feet away from them.
Hyrule's eyes had snapped to him as soon as he yelled but Legend still looked out of it.
"Want my flame blade?" Wild asked the shivering Heroes, and Hyrule instantly nodded.
After tapping on his slate, Wild stabbed his flame blade into the sand next to them. Then turned to face the shaken Heroes.
"Do either of you have any light arrows?" Wild asks and feels like a bastard for bothering them when they're so clearly not ok, but… Wild wouldn't make Four wait like how he forced Zelda too.
Legend and Hyrule can be soothed by Twilight and Warriors later.
Four needed to be saved now.
"Sorry," Hyrule said, taking slow shuddering breaths. "I don't know what those are."
"That's not how light arrows work." Legend said, still staring at nothing. Voice utterly flat. "Zelda summons them for her Light bow. They disappear as soon as she stops."
"Time's Zelda can't summon light arrows, only bless normal ones." Wild patriots Time's explanation.
Legend's blank stare and flat voice made Wild's hair stand on end, but he refused to look away from his hurting brother.
It was the least he could do after forcing Legend to speak.
"I have silver arrows." Legend said, finally moving instead of staring aimlessly.
"They work about as well for smiting evil." He explained while digging in his bad.
Hyrule blinked at Legend before going through his own bag.
"Pure distilled Great Fairy light magic." Legend dropped the bundle of no more than ten arrows, wrapped in a thick cloth. "They're one of the sharpest things to ever be created. Watch your hands."
Wild nodded, and Hyrule pulled three silver arrows out of his bag.
"Uh, I have these," Hyrule stated with a shaky smile, handing the arrows to Wild. "Might wanna put them in the thingy."
"Thanks." Wild said, gently opening the thick red and gold cloth and adding the other three arrows in.
Wild stared at the arrows as they gleamed in the sunlight.
Legend was right. They looked impossibly sharp.
Wild looked up to see Legend slumped in Hyrule's arms and Hyrule burying his head in Legend's shoulder.
"Is there a reason you need these?" Legend asked, looking exhausted, but not annoyed or mad.
He was probably too tired to be his usual self and that hurt Wild in a way that he couldn't explain.
"Yes. Wind has a small boat. We're going after Four." Wild explained, keeping his voice monotone in fear of the other Heroes hearing his fear and sadness.
Legend gave him a solemn nod in understanding, and Wild hoped he and Hyrule weren't blaming themselves.
"Hurry then." Legend said blandly. "It's not like I have any more blessed items."
With a nod Wild left to talk to Sky and Twilight, trying not to cast a glance back to the distressed Heroes.
"You two okay?" Wild asked instead of a greeting.
Sky smiled sadly and Twilight's face twisted up in a grimace.
"Twilight broke his shoulder, we healed it up," Sky answered before Wild could ask.
Wild cringed. He landed wrong in water before and knew how hard the stuff could be.
"We've been trying to give Legend and Hyrule space. Last time we tried to talk to them..." Sky trailed off staring into the distance.
"It wasn't well received." Twilight finished.
"What's going on Cub?" Twilight said, blatantly changing the topic.
"Wind only has a boat big enough for two. Where going after Four first, while you all wait for Tetra and follow. Wild said, scratching his neck. "He sent me to get supplies. Have any light arrows?"
Sky and Twilight blinked.
"I'm sorry?" Twilight asked incredulously. "Light Arrows are made of Light Spirits? How—how would I have one?"
"Time had arrows blessed by his Zelda, and Legend said they're made of Zelda's magic." Wild supplies.
"That's weird. Zelda... Huh." Twilight stopped to think. "She asked for the spirits' help. I mean theoretically, she could have made them herself too..."
"What's a light arrow?" Sky asked, looking between Twilight and Wild.
"Ask Legend later," Wild said with a shrug. "I just need blessed arrows. He and Rule gave me silver arrows."
"Sacred weapons?" Sky asked.
Wild nodded and before he could even say anything Sky was already pressing the Master Sword into his hands.
"I have more," Sky said, digging through his magic pouches. "Give me a moment."
"Sky—" Twilight tried to say but before he could Sky had already pulled out a shield and a bow and arrow.
"The Goddess Shield is pretty weak, but it regenerates durability. It's my own design, I wanted a shield that was worthy to go with the Master Sword." Sky explains of the purple shield with Hylia's smiling face on it, and Wild isn't even a little surprised that he made it. "This is my Sacred Bow. It was reforged with Goddess Plumes instead of being made with them like my shield."
Sky shoved both his bow, and shield into Wild arm's, and Wild stumbled back at the sheer force Sky used.
That was Sky's sword, shield, and bow!
"Sky, I—I can't take all your gear!" Wild exclaimed at the Chosen Hero's complete disregard for his own safety.
"It's not all my gear Wild." Sky said with his too soft, too kind voice. "Plus you can give me one of your swords and shields. Then I won't be defenseless."
Sky smiled and it felt like staring at the sun.
Wild wanted nothing more than to look away.
Giving in, Wild sighed and pulled out a Royal Guard sword, Savage Lynel shield, and a Royal bow, handing each to Sky who accepted them with a smile.
"I would give you my harp, but I don't think you or Wind know how to play." Sky said, putting the borrowed weapons away on him and Wild blanched.
"I can not take your Harp Sky!" Wild exclaimed as Twilight threw his arm around Sky.
"You've done more than enough Sky," Twilight said gently. "No need to give away your most prized possession." The undercurrent of it's not even a combat item, that it wouldn't help in Wild and Wind's quest, was clear in his tone.
Sky was really going above and beyond in any way he could.
"Ah-ha, that is true." Sky said with a sad smile. "It's just we'll be waiting for Tetra to come for us."
Sky's expression took on such extreme guilt that made Wild shift uncomfortably.
"I don't want us to show up too late." Sky admitted, saying the word late like it was some sort of curse.
Wild nodded sadly in understanding, and Twilight pulled the Chosen Hero into a side hug.
"Don't worry," Wild said with far more confidence than he actually had. "We'll save Four before you guys even get there."
--
"Wind?" Someone behind him asked and Wind couldn't stop himself from flinching hard.
Wind spun around to come face to face with a very sad and nervous-looking Wild.
"You okay?" Wild asked and Wind sighed loudly.
"No." He said honestly, turning back to his sailboat so he can finish fixing the sail. "I'm really not but I don't think anyone is right now."
Wind could practically hear Wild mental sputtering at Wind's blunt admittance.
Wind really wished he wasn't the only member of the chain that knew how to talk about emotions.
"Is there anything I can do?" Wild asked hesitantly.
"Not really." Wind said double-checking all his knots. "I won't feel better till we get Four back."
"Trauma thing." Wind said in lieu of an explanation. "You know?" Which was Link for I don't want to talk about it.
Patented by Warriors and Four, codified by Legend.
Wild hums something non-committal behind Wind.
"Wanna say goodbye to your Grandma?" Wild asked, and wasn't that a dragon of a question?
"I already told her that we might disappear." Wind said evenly. "Plus I think if I go in there I'm gonna break down."
He was already reliving the moment Aryll was kidnapped, he didn't need to relive the moment he told his Gram.
He didn't know if Aryll being on Tetra's boat at the moment was making Four being taken easier or harder to process.
"I understand." Wild said and Wind believed he did.
If any of them knew avoidance it was probably Wild.
"You ready?" Wind asked Wild, and Wild nodded.
Wild tapped his slate and he was suddenly dressed in dark blue pants and tunic with the old symbol of the Zora in the middle of his chest, opal earrings dangling from his ears.
Wind pushed his boat into the water, holding it still long enough for Wild to climb in the back.
He said nothing as they set sail.
--
The boat wasn't headed in the right direction and Wild wasn't going to say anything.
"You ever warp with magic before Wild?" Wind asked, staring at nothing in the sky.
Oh, that explains it.
"No," Wild said. "My slate isn't magic, it teleports me not warp."
The sailor smiled and stood up.
His smile was off, dull, and didn't reach his eyes.
"I've been meaning to show you some of my magic." Wind said, and at least the little sailor was smiling.
Wild smiled back and he was sure it was off as Wind's own.
"How are we warping?" Wild asked genuinely curious. "Where are we going?"
"That first one is a secret." Wind with a wink that looked a suspicious amount like Tetra's.
"And we're going to Windfall. Mother and Child Isles is closer to our destination but the warp spell will trap us inside of it." Wind clarified.
Wind pulled out a baton of some sort—Wild was certain he had heard Wind explain what it was to Warriors but Wild couldn't remember the name—and began conducting.
A song began playing on the wind, like the air itself was the orchestra, as it bends willingly to the Sailor's commands.
It sounded beautiful.
As the other Hero conducted strong gales collected, and Wild gripped the sides of the small red boat, but the powerful winds never so much as rocking the boat.
The boat did however start spinning.
Wind was still conducting with his eyes closed so this must be how this is supposed to happen, and maybe Twilight had a point about magic.
The boat slowly began being lifted up into the air by the gales and Wild hoped he wasn't cracking the wood with his death grip.
Wild was not the best swimmer in the world and he couldn't teleport out like in his world, but he trusted Wind.
It began spinning faster and faster and faster around, Wild closed his eyes as it spun too fast for his eyes to keep up and suddenly it stopped.
Wind giggled a little bit as Wild's head swam around.
"Are you ok?" Wind asked giggling, and Wild loudly groaned.
"That was fucking awesome," Wild said, glaring at Wind. "But next time warn a guy ok?"
Wind just laughed, and maybe things would be ok.
--
Wind fought the urge to twist his face up in disgust as the Forsaken Fortress finally came into view.
They had spent two days sailing and the bird would be there by now.
Wild was asleep, dealing with the claustrophobia and constant rocking of the waves by sleeping through most of the journey.
Wind would wake him when they hit land.
It was midday and the Forsaken Fortress never looked less intimidating.
Its presence was utterly destroyed by the light of the sun, and the lack of spotlights.
The place was probably completely abandoned, aside from the bird.
Wind didn't know how to feel about that.
At least it would be less of a struggle to get inside.
Wind sailed the recreation King of Red Lions through the entrance of the Forsaken Fortress, and for once didn't feel like he was being watched.
It was hauntingly silent and utterly dead.
As it should be. As it will be.
--
Something poked Wild.
Something poked Wild again.
Wild woke up slowly, rubbing his eyes and trying his hardest to glare a hole through the skull of whatever had woken him up from his nap.
Wind snickered.
"Morning sleepy head." Wind said, smiling with deep purple bags under his eyes.
Wild frowned and batted the Master Sword away from his face.
"That is not what that is supposed to be used for." Wild said, instead of are you sure you wanna fight when you haven't slept in two days?
"Like you actually care." Wind scoffed. "You've used her to chop trees, and smash rocks! Since when did you care?"
"I don't." Wild agreed. "I am, however, according to Twilight, feral."
"What's your excuse?" Wild said accusingly.
Wind rolled his eyes and hopped off the boat into the water, climbing on the craggy rock that led up into the tower they were beneath.
"Hurry up." Wind said climbing out of the water, and Wild jumped in after him.
He really hated swimming.
Wild climbed out of the water to see Wind drying himself with the Wind Waker.
Wild nearly giggled at the sight, that was fucking genius!
Tapping his slate a couple of times, Wild's outfit changed to his amber earrings, champion tunic, and hylian trousers.
Completely dry because those Sheikah from ten thousand years ago really thought of everything.
Wind turned to the fortress.
"We're gonna have to climb up there." Wind sighed and Wild snickered.
Who knew the Heroes of the past would all have such terrible stamina?
Wind began walking and Wild followed a close distance away.
The walk was quieter than usual but not uncomfortably so.
Less awkward and more determined.
Wild was happy Wind wasn't sad anymore, angry was not good but it was better.
--
"Ready?" Wind asked, right hand about to push the giant doors open.
Master Sword in his left hand.
Wild summoned Sky's bow. "That bird won't know what hit it."
Wind smiled and shoved open the door.
Instantly Wind sprinted into the tower and was greeted with the loudest screech he's ever heard in his life.
The Helmaroc King was sitting poised in the middle of the room waiting for them, and Wind couldn't see Four but that was fine.
They would find him.
Wind doge rolled out of the way of an incoming beak, and just as planned, three glowing arrows pierced the bird's mask.
The Helmaroc King screeched as its mask fell off, Wild should be climbing up to the higher levels of the tower as the creature caught its bearings.
The bird turned its small red eyes on Wind, face dripping black goop.
Wind sprinted at it stabbing the Master Sword into the holes left by Wild's arrows.
The Helmaroc King screeched and threw Wind off its head.
Wind slammed into a wall, hard, barely having enough sense of mind to doge the talon going straight for him.
"Found him." Wild voice came out clearly from the communication stone around Wind's neck. "In a wood cage like you said. He's out of it though."
Wind frowned as he dodged the Helmaroc King's beak.
"Take him up." Wind responded, taking out his skull hammer. "You'll be seen if you go out, but eventually the thing is going up there too so be ready."
The communication stone went dead and the Helmaroc King got its beak stuck in the wood.
Wind smiled viscously as he slammed his skull hammer into the Master Sword as hard as he could, driving the divine blade into the monster's skull.
The Helmaroc King screeched, screamed, and thrashed in pain.
Wind climbed onto the ramp wrapping around the Forsaken Fortress, which really should be broken, and started sprinting as the Helmaroc King began destroying the whole building.
Wind bobbed and weaved through all the falling debris.
The Helmaroc King was smashing through walls and Wind couldn't get to the top fast enough.
Wind took a breath of fresh air.
"Um, Wind?" Wild called, crouching next to an injured Four.
The Helmaroc King shot through the top of the tower, and Wind jumped out of its way.
"This is expected." Wind explained to a confused Wild.
Four looked terrible. Bloodied and bruised. He probably had bruised ribs and he had eaten in two days. Despite the fact that he was injured, Wind was happy to have his missing brother back.
Wind reached out to grab Four's shoulder when suddenly the injured teen tackled him.
The Helmaroc King talons were wrapped tightly around Wind's chest and Four definitely had broken ribs.
"Shit!" Yelled Wild and suddenly Wind was falling.
Wind gripped hard on his skull hammer and Four and his skull hammer started floating.
Wind looked up to see it being surrounded by some sort of yellow and bluish glow.
Wind and Four were slowly lifted back onto the tower and Wild sighed in relief.
"Magnesis I'm so sorry I called you the most useless option on my slate." Wild muttered lovingly to his slate.
Wind looked into the sky to see the Helmaroc King flapping around with its legs barely attached by its tendons.
"Uh, Wild?" Wind asked, unsure how to phrase his question.
"Silver arrows." Wild explained. "Legend was right, those fuckers are sharp."
"Yeah, ok." Wind said, just accepting the answer. "Give Four Sky's shield. Imma go kill that thing."
"Can't I just knock off its wings into the ocean?" Wild asked and Wind really didn't want to explain how the great sea wasn't made of normal water.
"It won't drown." Wind settled on.
Wild frowned but did as Wind asked.
Wind walked over to the other side of the tower and whistled loudly.
The Helmaroc King made a dive and Wind jumped smallest down his skull hammer into the Master Sword.
Driving the blade through the bird's malice-infected brain.
The Helmaroc King let out one final screech of pain before it finally disappeared in a poof of smoke.
Wind smiled victoriously and picked up the Master Sword.
That's what it gets for messing with his family.
