Chapter 1: Odd Greetings
Chapter Text
You groaned, running a hand through your hair while you drove down an empty road.
The faint chime of a message being received on your phone was in the background. "You can't keep doing this Maia! You know you can't just fight people on a daily basis, it's not normal! You're only ten. Why were you even trying to fistfight somebody anyway?" You had picked up your younger sister from school early, which was horribly timed since you were in the middle of teaching. "I know you like stepping up for your friends, but this could reflect on your grades and reputation."
She just gave you a look that said "no duh" while her arms were crossed.
"I mean, yeah 'course it'd affect my reputation. I mean half of 5th grade was surrounding us so I'm not surprised if they view me as some aggressive girl." She scoffed.
"Don't you want people to like you? I mean, you just want a good impression. I don't want anybody to pick on you or for you to be like me." you stare at the road ahead of you. "I don't care. I can take care of myself. I'm not pretty and dainty like all those other girls." Maia had her knees pulled up to her chest as she stared out the window of the car.
"Just because you're taller and aren't skinny doesn't mean you're not pretty! Hell, wear whatever you want, I don't care. We don't have parents so you're technically under my supervision most of the time, remember?" You snorted. True, the school dress code was ridiculous but you weren't worried if she broke that silly rule. As long as she wasn’t showing up in a bikini.
It didn't take very long for the both of you to arrive back home to the large house. It was on top of a hill, decked out with decorations of plants and flowers. "C'mon, let's go."
You opened the car door and slid out, and your sister followed you. The gravel crunched underneath your feet as you made your way towards the front porch, and walked up the stairs to stick your keys in the lock. Once you manage to unlock the door both you and your sister go inside to witness the usual house ruckus. You slid your shoes off next to one of your other family member's, since all of your shoes were organized in a certain way.
"(Y/N)! Can you help me with this decoration please! I can't do it myself!" Your uncle called out to you. "I'll get to you in a minute Uncle Kalen!" You walk forward past the kitchen and one of your cousin's bedrooms to go up the spiral stairs. The house was roomy on the inside despite all the rooms that are crammed into it. Your room was near the end, Maia's room ending the row of the few rooms. Unfortunately though, you had many family members so there were of course lots of tasks. Especially groceries. Damn you groceries....
There was lots of open space to peer downstairs and see what was happening, with of course railing to make sure nobody would fall off. Some bedrooms were downstairs like Cousin Juliana's room and a few others, but most of them were upstairs like yours. Your sock covered feet made you able to slide easily over the hardwood of the flooring and in front of your door. You quickly ran inside and shut the door behind you just to flop on your bed. It was nice to be home, even if there was always some sort of yelling occurring outside of your room. All you had to do was get your small bag and you'd be good!
You looked at the hanger that was sitting on the corner of your room, that was standing next to your comically large E.T plush that you had gotten as a gift from one of your friends. It wasn't there.. That's odd. You always put it there, but it wouldn't be out of this world that you might have misplaced it at some point. Maybe you had left it in the garage? That would make sense since you were painting in there for a while before leaving to go to work.
You huffed and ran out of your room, having to go all the way back downstairs. You slid down the railing past your Uncle Bruce and scampered back over to Uncle Kalen to help him with whatever he needed. "Uncle Kalen! What do you need help with?" You could do this real quick since it was on the way to the garage.
"Just with this paint, I can't seem to get the right color! Either it turns out brown, or it's too dark, or it's too light then it turns too dark! How do you do it?" He hands you the palette of paint and a clean paintbrush. "You want cobalt blue right? Hold on.." It only took you a minute or so to whip up the color.
“Thanks, Darling.” You just nodded in understanding and walked away. “Sup, (Y/n)!” Uncle Bruce patted you on the head. He was always way taller than you, and almost everyone else in fact. And super muscular. “Hey Uncle Bruce!” You grinned and watched him walk over to Uncle Klaren.
A few of your triplet cousins were stacked up on top of each other, with one of your aunts scolding them and trying to pull them apart. “Heh,” you then finally reached the back doors of the house, sliding them open. It was cloudy outside, but not enough to look like it was going to rain.
The backyard was mostly covered in bright green grass with two soccer goals set up for the kids. The porch also had two tables and a grill for whenever they decided to do cookouts. You stretched your arms and hopped down the few stairs. No one was outside, seemingly distracted by other tasks like work or school for the most part. The shed’s door was left slightly open like always. It never closed all the way for some reason. You should ask Uncle Bruce to fix it, you don’t have the patience to fix things other than projects of your own.
You slowly pushed the door open a bit, and then shoved your shoulder against it to finish getting it open. “Damn! It’s getting harder every time I swear…” You huff and began to look around for your bag. The shed was quite spacious and tall. Fairy lights were hung everywhere along with art supplies scattered everywhere. You really needed to clean this place.
“(Y/n!)” You heard a familiar voice call out to you. “Yeah, Maia?” You look over your shoulder while shuffling through a pile of canvases and sketchbooks that are lying in a corner. “Dishes are your turn tonight.” She walked into the shed. “Alrighty, fine with me. Have you seen my bag by the way? It wasn’t in my room so I thought it’d be in here…” you huff.
“You have like, a million bags. Is it the one where you stuff your art stuff in and always squish paint in?” Maia snorted and crossed her arms.
“Oh, hush! It’s not that messy.” You rolled your eyes. “Oh! Nevermind! Here it is!” You smile widely when you find the familiar pale green bag. “Welp, I’m going back inside then.” She slipped back outside into the backyard while you were searching your bag for the item you needed.
“Uhh. (Y/N)? What’s in the sky?” Maia’s muffled voice came from outside. “Whaddya mean? Is it a bird?” You yell back at her. You decide to make your way through the door and outside where your younger sister was standing. “What did you even call me out here for- what the hell.”
Something was definitely coming towards you. Quickly. It looked like a rock..? Not really though, but at the same time, you didn’t have the time to just stand around and watch like an idiot. “Well, get inside the damn shed! We can’t stand out here!” You probably wouldn’t be able to make it to the house in time so you shoved your sister into the shed and yourself also. Of course, the door didn’t close all the way.
“It better be fuckin’ aliens. That’d be sick,” she grinned. “Wow, you love sticking your ass in danger, don’t you?” You couldn’t care enough about Maia’s usage of curse words at this moment. All you needed to do was keep both of you safe from whatever was being throttled in your backyard.
You opened your mouth to speak again until a loud screeching noise and what sounded something similar to an explosion suddenly erupted. Greenish-grey smoke wafted in through the cracked open door and through a few crevices of the shed. “Totally aliens.” You knew your sister was trying to joke at this moment, but her face looked like she was in pain. That sound really messed her up, same for you.
“I’ll go check it out..” you cautiously placed a hand on the door, getting ready to go out. “Alrighty, don’t die by alien hands, please. That wouldn’t be preferable.” Maia jokingly saluted you. Her shoulders were visibly tense. “Thanks, sis, I’ll be back in a moment's time.”
The air felt like it crackled with energy. You meekly pushed past the broken door and suddenly your senses sharpened. You could feel your whole body, almost down to the bone. You shook your head to try and snap out of it. Why was the grass.. crunchy? You just shook your head and kept walking.
As the smoke got thicker the closer you got, you could hear the muffled yelling and confused talking of your other family members from the house. You gasped, your skin feeling something like pop rocks in your mouth.
Once you had gotten to the unfamiliar thing, you had started to examine it. This wasn’t a rock… this was a pod! You think.
It took you a few moments, hesitating, and rethinking life choices, but you finally placed a hand on top of it. You sighed in relief when nothing bad happened. Instead, the shiniest part of the pod had opened with a hiss, some blue smoke seeping out. Gee, there is a lot of colored smoke in this area.
“What..” you stared down at the tiny alien in front of you. This wasn’t normal. Oh my god, Maia was right. Why was Maia right!? Out of all times..
You huffed and knocked on your head to knock yourself out of whatever thoughts you were having. “Hey little guy..” you mumble and watch the alien baby wave it’s arms in the air. Out at you. For you.
“H..huh?” You take one of your hands and brush it against his own. You soon felt that feeling of pop rocks and the sound of crackling. The feeling was surreal. “Sis! You good?”
“Y-yeah! Come on out! You were right!” You beckoned your sister to come to look at the sight to behold. The yellow robot was making a nonsense of noises. At first, it was just warbling and the sound of frequencies. “What’s your name..” you mutter to him. He didn’t respond, not that she expected as much.
“I was.. right? Holy-“ She stopped herself from cursing. “A baby! ..Toddler, maybe? He’s so cute!” You were shocked to see some green crackles of electricity across her skin. This was odd. Too odd for you.
“I don’t see any other pods… I mean they would’ve totally wrecked everything like this little guy. Is he… is he all alone?” Maia had gotten closer to the robot and gently touched his head. You knew you could hear the hurt in your younger sister’s voice. The alien apparently did too and made a few more noises.
“What do we do?” she asked. Hell if you know! You barely just made it out of college. How would you know?
“Let’s talk with the family first. I’m sure they’d like to know what’s happened and what to do with our… visitor.” You spoke. Maia was still highly infatuated with him. You decided to lift him out of his seat and into your arms, cradling him the best you could. Definitely much heftier than the average baby.. And bigger too!
Sooo.. you dropped him into Maia’s arms. “HOLY- Dear god! He’s heavy!” She yelped.
You did have to admit though, he was kind of cute. “Erm, alrightyy.. So now that we’ve got the alien baby let us go!” She started to skip through the smoke. You chuckled but then grimaced when you inhaled too much of it. “Ew, I better not turn alien too after breathing this stuff.” you half-joked.
You decided to look at the pod a bit more before you left to meet up with the rest of your family, but the only new thing you found was an odd electric blue cube that could fit into the palm of your hand, but besides that there was absolutely nothing. “Hm..” you raised an eyebrow.
This was new territory. New territory that could be dangerous, you contemplated. But something that was absolutely thrilling. You haven’t had feelings like these in ages, you loved art, yes, but this was something new and exciting. You only ever reached a high like this back in the later years of High school, including your very early 20s. You shook your head, snapping you out of your daze.
But now, you are a full fledged adult. Not old, certainly not, or even middle aged, but you had responsibilities. Like the new alien child that crashed landed into your backyard.
You walked over to the porch, treading up the stairs and through the glass sliding doors. Hey, at least those aren’t destroyed. You clutched the unfamiliar cube in your hands as you scanned the living room to see everyone. “Is everyone alright?” You frowned and looked at one of your niece’s faces to get a better look to see if she was alright.
“I don’t think anybody got hurt, I mean, only you and Maia were outside. We should be asking if you two are okay!” Auntie Jade walked up to you and pinched your cheeks. “Ack! Yes, I’m fine!” You shut your eyes, just wanting her to stop the pinching. “Alright, alright.. But you better be careful (Y/n) (L/n)! I swear one day you are going to get killed. She rolled her eyes and stepped away from you. “I fully believe that Maia has taken that role now, I’m retired.” You chuckled and shook your head.
“I know, I know.. It’s just, life is risky. And very unexpected!” You Auntie kept rambling on after that so you decided to distract yourself with your two nieces and your one nephew. “You three better keep your mom in check, who knows how crazy Great Auntie Jade drives her crazy..” You whispered to them jokingly.
“I can hear you, you know!” Your aunt had her hands on her hips. Her husband had died a little while ago, which of course, was devastating to the family just like your mother’s had. After that she was always a little uptight and paranoid, especially with your cousins. “I know you’re worried, but neither me or Maia have a scratch on each other.” You smiled softly and kissed Auntie Jade’s cheek.
She just sighed and rubbed her forehead. “Okay.. okay..” she muttered. “Speaking of new and scary things, I found this weird cube looking thing! Wanna check it out Uncle Bruce?” You glance over to the muscular man. He had his arm wrapped around Uncle Kalen, but pulled away to go over to you.
“I’ve never seen something like this before..” he gently took it into his hands, much more careful than you have been with it previously. “It tingles, are you sure this isn’t radioactive?” He shot you a look with one eyebrow raised. You just shrugged. “Well you already touched it so it’s kind of too late.” You grin.
“My big question is what are we going to do with the alien?” Uncle Kalen looked extremely concerned. Not for the alien, but about it.
“Uhh.. I don’t know. Something other than turn it into the government probably?” Maia decided it had been too long since she had last spoken. “Why not?! We finally learned that aliens exist and we’re not going to turn it in so they can figure more about them?” He was right in some parts.
This was the first time in ages the house was silent.
“But haven’t we learned enough that the government can also do a lot of immoral things?” You crouched down next to the bright yellow robot that was sitting on the couch. He just looked at you happily and clutched to your arm. Your Aunt Jade and Uncles immediately tensed up when he grabbed you.
“See? Not so bad. He didn’t hurt me nor Maia outside either.” You actually sat down next to him and let him cling to you. Your nieces and nephew looked curiously while peeking over the arm of the couch. “Well.. fine! We won’t turn it in I guess. But we have to do something about it.” Uncle Kalen crossed his arms.
“What if he..” Maia stood there, silent for a moment. “Stayed with us!” She clapped her hands together excitedly. “What– no!” Auntie Jade immediately protested. “Aw, come on, Auntie Jade! He’s only a baby!” She tried her best puppy dog eyes. “You know those don’t work on me, Maia (L/n).”
“Well, I don’t see what could be so bad if we let him stay?” Your cousin, Amara, spoke up, fiddling with her shirt sleeve. Her partner nodded and smiled sheepishly. “I mean, what else would we do with him?” They gestured to the tiny alien.
“Why not just test it out for a few days? He can stay in my room. When I’m instructing, someone else could watch over him? I don’t trust Maia for obvious reasons.” She just huffed and lost hope. She couldn’t even fight against your stubbornness. “We can!” Your two cousins, Anastasia and Aurora, raised their hands at the same time. “We can take care of them!” They bounced happily.
Your uncles looked obviously worried. “We can handle ourselves, y'know. We’re adults just like (Y/n)!” They crossed their arms. “We know, but you two are still only nineteen! I mean, are you even sure you can do this? All by yourselves?” They just nodded in response to Uncle Bruce.
“Daddy, we can do it!” “Yup!” They both cheered.
Chapter 2: Adjusting
Notes:
Soooo I'm not really proud of this, but I swear next chapter will be more organized and planned! I'm trying to get into the habit of writing more often instead of writing it on a whim at 12 am like I'm doing right now, but I promise I won't take month long intervals between each new chapter. Just take more happy Bee please.
By the way I know this is short, that's one of the reasons it's not my favorite.
Chapter Text
It was already a very odd new way of living with the alien around. The twin cousins seemed to quickly take up some sort of aunt roles, while you were kind of like a parent in a way. That’s what Bumblebee thought at least. He would usually only stick by you. And whenever you had to go away, he would stick to Maia like she was his life support.
Uncle Kalen still obviously didn’t trust the yellow ‘bot, and Uncle Bruce was unsure on how to feel. Auntie Jade though was a totally different situation. As fast as she was to distrust Bumblebee, was just as quick to butter up to him..
It was concerning to the majority of the family. You all had no idea what to feed him, so you resorted to trying out oil.
“Okay uhm.. so how are we sure that this is going to work?” Aurora put her hands on her hips and narrowed her eyes at the cup of oil. “It’s an experiment!” Her twin chuckled. The only difference between them was that Anastasia had two low hanging braids, and Aurora had a french braid.
“Right, an experiment.” You smile and set Bumblee down on the table. “Okay, sweetheart. Do you want to try this for me?” You lifted the cup into his tiny hands. Making sure it wouldn’t slip and spill over the table and tiled floor. He looked unsure about it, peering down into the dark substance.
“C’mon, just a sip?” You urged him. The twins peeked over your shoulder expectantly, along with Maia tapping her foot against the ground while staring. The majority of you knew he probably wouldn’t be able to consume what the average person could, despite what your nieces and nephew said.
Bumblebee slowly yet unsurely took a sip. His reaction… actually wasn't so bad! The twins cheered and decided to twirl each other around in happiness. “Why didn’t we try this earlier?” You chuckled when you looked over to your two cousins. “Probably because he’s an alien? I dunno, he looks like he’d consume some bright radioactive substance that would give us superpowers.” Aurora shrugged.
Bee had started to catch onto the excitement and was bouncing happily too. Maia just patted him on the head and giggled. “Oh, Y/n, I forgot to tell you I found your phone lying in the shed from earlier.” Your younger sister placed the phone in your hand, which made you sigh. “Maybe if my phone was hit by Bee’s pod I’d be happier too.” Which made her roll her eyes.
“Oh c’mon, sis! It’s not so bad, right?” She had a hopeful expression. While the twins were handling Bee again you chatted with the ten year old in front of you. “Yeah, it’s fine. Nothing I can’t deal with.” You gave her a tiny forced smile and shoved your phone into your pocket.
That seemed to relieve her a bit.
“We’re going to go teach Bumblee some stuff! See ya guys in a bit!” Anastasia yelled out to them while walking away. “Alright! Just remember to stick to the really basic stuff!” You knew Aurora could get a bit overboard with education.
Bumblebee had started to slowly wedge his way into your and everyone else’s lives by now. It had been only around a week by now, which of course had made you start to fret about meal options.
One very odd thing though, was the crystals starting to form in the backyard. Uncle Bruce had taken up the opportunity to study it himself since science was his thing that he was into. The electric blue substance was still being meddled with inside of your uncle’s mini lab set up in the basement.
They had started to form in the crater that was left by the pod in the backyard, which was of course weird enough for you.
Alien crashing into your backyard…check.
Raising and teaching them human things…check.
What else should be on your checklist? Watch out for a mysterious intergalactic war that’ll be forced onto this planet? God, that would be hilarious. Either way though, you had to focus on the present. Maybe you should record all this in a journal?
Not only did Bee and everyone else start to slowly adjust, but things were unexpectedly normal. You still instructed art regularly and earned a decent amount of money, Maia was stuck doing chores until she finally got to go back to school from her suspension, and the rest of the family was doing their normal things.
You decide to go and fix some things up in the shed, “accidentally” leaving your phone on the table as you slip away to go through backdoors. Or what was supposed to back doors, but was instead a curtain serving as a door until you all got some new ones. You continue to walk on the porch and onto the semi green, semi charred grass of the backyard.
If you were to examine where the pod was, you’d be able to see the tiny bright blue to pink crystals that were growing and multiplying.
You hummed a small tune as you slipped into the shed (after struggling with the door of course) and started shuffling through all the variety of books that had slowly formed into several boxes over the years. Of course there were many shelves for the variety of items you and everyone else had but you got too lazy putting the effort in putting them all away.
For the most part, it was peaceful.
You found a suitable journal to keep track of your thoughts and what you do on it, but also didn’t let yourself get too distracted from your tasks. It feels like each time you leave the shed after a craft or an art piece it always becomes a mess.
You even forgot to put away your dirty paint water. Whoops… Well, live and learn. That’s what you always say but then make the same mistake again.
After a while of organizing and putting things away, you decide to sit down on your desk that had papers and stationary scattered across it. You push some out of the way and begin to log your thoughts.
October 14, 2017
But that was all you could get on the paper so far. “I’m an artist. I should be able to do this..” You bit your lip in frustration. What could you start with?
[ Today me, Maia, Aurora, and Anastasia figured out something to feed Bumblebee with. ]
You wrote the most prominent thing that had happened today. It wasn’t really much. Obviously.
[ The twins then took him to go teach him some stuff, and besides that and eating pickles with mayonnaise barely anything happened today. ]
And.. you’re done! That’s it. You quickly shut it. For the rest of the day, you just lived on. You were busy unsurprisingly, but you were enjoying life.
___
Soon weeks bled into months as Bumblebee continued to live with all of you. The crystals had grown larger, enough for you to kind of farm it? You all found out that the little alien could consume it as a liquid form (from the cube you had initially found in the pod) so you all just have to figure out how to turn it into a liquid.
Uncle Klaren also had very slowly warmed up to Bee. You think he missed having small calm children to look after, because you knew your nieces and nephew would blow something up if they got the chance. They might be young, but only god knows what the type of hell bringing chaos they have done.
Being productive wasn’t your or your younger sister’s strengths, so you usually were stuck in your comfort zone with art. There were lots of things you could create, you could never get bored!
Well, that’s what you thought. Despite being an art instructor and making art your life’s passion, you hit a wall. Art block… Which to say the least is the worst block you can get. So there you were, laying on the couch desperately waiting for some sort of inspiration.
Bee wobbled over to you on his tiny legs, grabbing a handful of your shirt and tugging it. “What is it lil’ Bee?” You pick him up by the waist and set him down on your lap. You winced lightly when the cut on your hand lifted up the big toddler.
Your hand had gotten cut on some energon crystals while experimenting with it. Turns out that you should not handle it without some sort of protection because it’s very sharp in its raw form.
It was weird, but what was even weirder was when you imagined starting to understand him. Maybe it was just your imagination for not sleeping and instead drinking coffee, but sometimes you swore you could hear Bumblebee say a word or too. But right now you’d just brush it off and shake your head. No one else could understand him from what you know of.
Your hands brush over his plating and sighed. More noises came out of him as he pointed at the sketchbook lying on the table. “The sketchbook? Do you want to draw?” You ask as you reach over to grab it. He clapped his hands together and grabbed a yellow, orange, and pink colored pencil.
You watched with interest as the tiny bot started to draw on one of the pieces of paper. It of course wasn’t a masterpiece of fine arts, but he was still great for someone at such a young age. Wait, would that be normal? What if where he comes from everyone is like super amazing at art?
You shook your head and looked back down at the paper. You held in a squeal. Okay… strange alien baby aside… This is adorable! And you had to admit. Bee was also adorable in every way imaginable. “Is that supposed to be… me?” You pointed at a tall person wearing a sweater and jeans, colored and drawn only in orange.
Bee nodded happily. “That’s you of course.. And then Maia?” You pointed to a shorter girl with dark brown hair. You giggled when Bee made his noise to confirm. “It’s great Bee! Maybe you’ll be an artist like me someday.” You kissed his head and admired his art for a little while longer.
Maybe you just needed to take some time to soak everything in, wait patiently instead of demanding it constantly. Art was a process and you could really see that with Bee around. It was peaceful, life wasn’t chaotic at all. It was normal enough for a family raising an alien baby. You knew you kept repeating how unordinary all of your situations were but it just felt like another puzzle piece to the family being put in.
You smiled and shook your head, snapping yourself out of your daze. You think too much.
Instead you and Bee just sat there, enjoying your time. You, Maia, and Bee were your own family. With the absence of parents it felt nice to raise someone by choice instead of it being forced upon you as a teen.
In only a little while later, Maia decided to join in on the art making, which ends up in absolute chaos which is what happens with everything that your younger sister decides to get involved in.
“Maia! Don’t fling the pencil at the wall!” “It’s called art, Y/n!” She stuck her tongue out at you as you just rolled your eyes. Bee waved his short arms in the air while making beeping noises, a sign of encouragement for Maia. “See! Now you’re influencing him!” You whacked her with a pillow.
This was your family, and you weren’t ashamed of it.

Chapter Text
You groaned, half of your body sliding off your bed early in the morning. The ruckus had begun. Your alarm was set for 7 am sharp but this morning you couldn’t seem to shake off the odd feeling of drowsiness. You rub your eyes out of exhaustion and slide yourself out from what was left of the covers laying on top of your body, and slam your alarm off.
You then finally haul yourself up and open the black out curtains of your room to reveal the sunlight, and start to pick out your outfit. Once you decide on something simple, a turtleneck sweater with flared jeans and mary janes, you are ready for your average morning routine.
You did your skincare, brushed your teeth, made sure you didn’t look like an idiot and were ready for the day!
You started with writing in your journal. You scribble in twenty twenty three at the top of the page after sitting down at your desk. Over the past couple of years you had finally gotten a hang of writing out your feelings and what some things happen. Things were still normal.
The government hadn’t found out a thing, your ex finally was leaving you alone, and Bee had learned so much. Maia was already in highschool, in her second year, and the rest of the family had grown too.
Uncle Bruce and Uncle Kalen were still the fashionable couple out of the middle aged book club they were in, Aunt Jade had gotten therapy and was now openly dating around, and even the twins had gone to med school.
And your stupidly adorable neices and nephew were in middle school. Along with your cousin and her spouse.
When you were done journaling for the morning, you closed the notebook and grabbed your worn down pale green bag with your stuff in it, and walked out the bedroom door. Yup, everyone was already up to start the day. Maia and your nieces and nephew had seemed to already have gone to school since it was only a Thursday so far.
You could hear the faint sound of birds chirping and Anastasia struggling to get Bee to eat something.
“C’mon, lil’ Bee! You can have energon later but we’re out of the processed stuff, just drink the oil pleasee….” she groaned as the child just shoved the can away. You smiled gently and patted her back. “Good morning, Anastasia, ‘Morning, Bee,” you greet them and kiss Bee’s head.
The kitchen had looked much different than it did all six years ago. There had been a machine installed to process the energon correctly, which had pipes and certain knobs and buttons across the kitchen for it. There were also faint stains on the wood and counter from energon.
“Don’t be difficult with Aunt Anastasia, Bee. If that’s all we got it’s better than waiting for a while.” You then walk over to the fridge and open it, only to sign when they were both out of normal milk and oat milk. “Already out of both milks? I just bought some this week!”
Aurora shrugged while flipping an egg omelet that was on a pan. “The kids have gotten hooked on hot chocolate.” She explained. “Well that’s great. Now we’ll have to talk about conserving milk and how everyone needs to share.” You roll your eyes and write it down on the whiteboard grocery list.
“Maybe we just need to go to the store today.. Do any of you want anything in particular?” You snap a picture of the list with your phone to make sure you wouldn’t forget anything while you were there. “Hmm.. Xion was mentioning that he wanted to get some mint tea. Maybe you can grab that while you're out? I feel like we have everything in this house except tea I swear..” Anastasia said.
“For sure.” You wrote it down. Xion and your cousin Amara had been a happy couple for what now felt like forever. “Uhh, do we want donuts again? I feel like Maia might eat the whole bag again in the middle of the night.” You slide on some shoes and grab a pop tart for the go. “Sure, just make sure to hide them this time.” Aurora finished her omelet and slid it onto a plate for Anastasia.
“Alrighty then, I’ll be back soon then!” You wave to everyone who was in the kitchen and slip away out through the garage door that was nearby. You unlock your car with the clicker that hangs on the metal ring, and slide into the driver's seat.
It didn’t take you too long to drive to the store. You lived in a small town and everything was close by. You waved to a few acquaintances as you drove by, until you parked into a parking lot in front of the grocery store. There was the average amount of people coming in and out to pick up their food and supplies like the usual.
You hum a small tune as you leave your car in the parking spot and walk inside of the not-so-brightly painted supermarket. It was old but definitely had the stuff you always needed, so it got the job done.
You grab a shopping cart and start your hunt for the food. It was already a long list of food you needed to get since your family always mowed through the stuff like it all grew on trees. You just sigh and decide to just get this shopping trip over with.
The store was like every ordinary grocery store you had seen. It was a Trader Joes, and a decently sized one too. It always was fun to see what new interesting food they might have added, and you loved the flowers they always had out on display. You always have gotten the best from here.
You had surprisingly a long list to cross out. Damn, your family really did eat all the food super quickly.
As you pushed the squeaky metal cart around throughout the isles, near the end of the cleaner isle where all the cleaning stuff and toilet paper was, you recognized a few voices of your sister’s friends. They had let your sister come over quite a few times and seemed close to Maia, but you didn’t want to have an awkward encounter so you were about to turn around.
But… you couldn’t help but hear something that caught your attention.
“So what? Maia is a total dumbass and can’t catch a hint. Who would ever want to be seen with her?” A high pitched feminine voice spoke up. “I don’t know Hycith… don’t you think this could be a bit extreme?” Another, more masculine voice spoke afterwards.
Your hands tightened around the bar of the grocery cart, but you kept listening. “Of course not. I fully believe that no one really likes her, not even her boyfriend hugs her back.” The two burst into small snickers and giggles.
You felt like you were in some highschool drama, but that just made it worse. The classic bullying could really get to your younger sister, and you weren’t going to be ready for that. You just sighed and rubbed your temples. It was too early for this.
You grab a few boxes of cream cheese and keep pushing your shopping cart around. You’d just have to keep an eye out. Ever since Maia had gotten herself a new car a few months ago, she has been out and about much more often. You didn’t mind too much since you were always a bit busy with taking care of Bumblebee or instructing art classes, but you still had noticed.
You shake your head and keep shopping for the certain things you need. Toilet paper.. Dawn dish soap… donuts… maybe a chocolate bar or two.
It was just an average shopping trip until you heard screaming, and then a huge crash. You crouched down in instinct while shielding your head with your hands, but get pushed forward by some stranger trying to run away.
It all happened so quickly. One moment was the ordinary store music playing in the background until there was yelling and fire. You were in the freezer section which met at the corner of the store where the thing crashed in. You were just far enough to not get injured too badly, you only had a few scrapes here and there. You groaned, searching for your bag until you grab it and struggle to stand up.
Yup, you were definitely going to have bruises after this.
You coughed into your hand as the thing was moving on the ground. It was huge. But it didn’t take you long to realize that the thing wasn’t really a thing… It was a robot.
You slowly step away from the commotion in front of you, trying to pull yourself together. “It’s okay Y/n.. breathe in.. breathe out-” you started to hack into your elbow when you tried to exhale. You were jittery, your bones felt like jello. This scared you.
They looked like Bee, just huge and with red eye lights. The guy had a triangular shaped body, huge guns on his arms, and what looked like was in the shape of a cockpit of a plane? You bit your bloodied lip and tried to bolt. You struggled though since apparently your injuries was worse than expected. Your ankle hurts like an absolute bitch!
The flailing alien didn’t take long to compose itself to see what the hell was happening around him. Obviously, the humans are running away (including you) but he apparently seemed to take the most interest in you.
“ACK!” You yelp as you were snatched off the ground by his giant hand. “Let me go! NOW!” You glare daggers up at the robot. First you wouldn't understand him, but the clicks and whirrs of his voice turned into fluent english.
“Fleshling! You have met the presence of the grand overlord starscream! Obey me now and maybe I’ll sacrifice your life!” He held up a sharp finger and pointed it at you. All you did in return was scream and pound your fists against his gigantic hand. “Stop it! Let me go!” You tried with all your might to pry free, but your efforts were fruitless.
You screeched when the hand around your body tightened, and the eyes of the giant robot glared at you. “You organics are so shrill!” He hissed out but then his gaze quickly snapped over to the huge hole in the building, as if he heard something. “Slag!” You furrow your eyebrows at the… curse he just yelled?
Another one of those giant robots–except with blue eyes– jumped through the hole and into the store. “Starscream! I demand you to put that innocent civilian down!” He was large and bulky, mainly being painted blue with red accents. He also had a giant gun, which didn’t make your situation any better. Unless he wasn’t going to snatch you up like this mean bitch, maybe you’d be more content with your situation.
“Y-yeah! What he said! I’m just a lady who was buying groceries-” you were cut off though as the huge red eyed robot let go of you so you hit the floor with a groan. Most of the tile was now crumbled, revealing the real dirt ground underneath. You felt dizzy from all the movement, being waved around and then falling hard to the ground wasn’t the most pleasant thing.
You again struggle to stand on both of your feet as the two giant robots try to throw fists at each other. Whatever the hell was going on in this place, you were NOT going to take part in it. You would know better than anyone to get in between a fight of two gigantic robots that could easily crush you under one of their feet.
You make your way down one of the semi-stable isles of the store, only taking one look back before attempting to book it out of the store. The only people you could see were the ones outside witnessing what was happening or the ones driving by. “Miss! Are you okay?” A man speed walks up to you once you haggled yourself out of the grocery store.
“I’m fine.” You brush him off and stumble over to your car while fishing for the keys out of your bag. “No you’re not– you need to go to the hospital! You can barely walk!” He persisted. “Listen, I have a family waiting at home and I’m sure they’re worried sick. I’ll go to the hospital afterwards or maybe just patched up. I didn’t break anything.” You were not in any mood to have some random guy worry over you.
“But miss please–” You slid into your car and slammed the door shut before starting it up. “I said no!” You raised your voice high enough for him to hear you through the glass, and started backing out of the parking spot. Thank god they weren’t in the parking lot.
The fresh spring air would’ve been nice if the stench of smoke from a fire didn’t ruin it. Well, you guess there’s fire now too.
It was only now that you had some time to relax and take everything in, that the aching in your body had started to worsen. You were pretty sure you had twisted your ankle and that your head was bleeding. But besides that, you were fine! Just fine. Nothing you couldn’t handle.
Your grip tightened on the wheel as you drove back home. Welp, you weren’t going to be coming home with any groceries, that’s for sure. When you pulled into the driveway of the familiar house, you slowly slid out and walked up to the porch.
You were too tired to unlock the door yourself so you just rang the bell and hoped that someone would come and find you quickly. Soon enough your cousin, Amara, opened the door and gasped. “Y/N!” She screeched and ran to your side. “Oh god, what happened to you?” She helped you up, with your arm hung back around her neck and left shoulder while she supported you by putting her arm around your waist.
“We need to get the family together. Something happened at the store..” Your head was throbbing. “Well not shit something happened at the store! I’ll get someone to pick Maia up from the store. Should we also get the kids?” She referred to your nieces and nephews. “No, they don’t have to get involved. Only if we’re in immediate danger, right now it’s only something we should be worried about.” You walk into the house with your cousin, and sit down in the living room.
“Here, let me go get the first aid kit and some other supplies to patch you up. We should take you to the doctor sometime, this could be serious!” Amara huffed and walked away to gather the supplies. They definitely looked like Bee’s race. More of them would have arrived here, even worse, they have been here but just have been working with the government! Or the government had been hiding them.
If you and your family were accused of kidnapping a baby alien you were going to lose it. You were his mother, and you embraced that role. If someone ever tried taking him away from you, you had the intent to get rid of them one way or another.
Chapter 4: Scenery
Notes:
Back with another chapter!
I'm pretty happy when I continue to write these, but I am super stressed with school and just things outside of school so I'm sorry if things might be slow!! I'm trying my best!
But yes, a little change happened with the fandoms. It's still all media types of transformers that I'm trying to include, but right now I'm mainly taking inspiration from Mtmte and Tfp right now! I'm reading all of the mtmte and lost light comics right now and Anode is definitely my favorite currently.
Chapter Text
It didn’t take long for everyone to gather in the living room. The only people absent from the area were Bee, your two nieces and nephew, Maia, and Finn who was picking up Maia from school at the moment. “Amara can you get your boo to hurry up?” Uncle Klaren referenced Fin with the stupid nickname. “Guys, come on. Relax a little, I’m sure it’s not that bad!” Auntie Jade spoke up.
“I got picked up by a giant robot with red eyes and waved around, and almost got stepped on.” You grunted in pain when Amara pressed a cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide to your side. “Okay, maybe it is that bad.” She sunk in her seat.
“Either way, this is totally insane! We have no idea where these robots are even from since we got Bumblebee when he was a baby. He’s only like what, seven now? From what we can assume? I mean if those robots were giant and he’s already 5”4 I wouldn’t be surprised if he also grew that big!” Uncle Bruce tried to calm down Uncle Klaren a bit.
You sighed and rubbed your temples. “I know, I know. We should probably put stricter rules. I don’t know what the alien’s intentions were, but it singled me out from the rest and we can assume that he is Bee’s race. If not very similar.” A few nodded.
“So.. what do we do then? They’re here. They might take Bee and I’m not going to let that happen.” Aurora stood tall next to her twin. “Of course not. We promised we wouldn’t get the government involved either. If anything they might have already gotten in contact, they’re just obviously keeping it under the wraps.” You tried to keep some calm. You don’t need a fight to break out.
“Well if they’re here, they probably are looking for Bee. Or we just have terrible luck and this is where they ended up in the first place.” Anastasia crossed her arms and tapped her foot against the ground. “I mean, maybe we have to move. If we wait they might find us.” You come to the hard conclusion. This of course isn’t the thing you all wanted to come to, but it might be the only one.
Everyone was tense. The twins clearly looked very stern. They wore mostly all black with pleated skirts and combat boots. Uncle Klaren was in his usually pink sweater vest, button up shirt, and beige pants while Uncle Bruce looked like the stereotypical gym guy wearing a workout shirt and shorts. Amara was dressed like it was still autumn in her fuzzy turtleneck, brown skirt and booties. Yeah if they were in a crowd of people, they’d definitely be the ones you would pick out first.
You wouldn’t get started on Maia’s fashion, you all would get caught almost immediately. You look down at your hands, and start to think. How this would affect all of you was beyond you. Nevada was your home, and it would be hard to leave it. “Wouldn’t it be conspicuous? Just leaving right after some alien robots cause a scene?” Auntie Jade spoke. “Not really. If news gets out what happened to me it would make sense actually if we were to move. It would be away from the threat, in more ways than one.” You close your eyes, just to relax for one moment. This was hard.
You all were certain you were going to live your lives as normally as you could, at least after three years had passed. You couldn’t understand why, why now? And if they were looking for Bee, how did they find him? Nothing made sense to you. Not after what happened to you at the grocery store. “Maybe we should wait until Maia and Finn get home… I’m not sure how nicely Maia will react to this..” Amara fiddled with her hands together nervously, obviously worried about how she would take this.
“Yeah..” you open your eyes again. Speak of the devil, you could hear the sound of the garage door opening and closing. “Brace for the worst.” You mutter to your cousin before looking over your shoulder to see Finn and Maia walk in. “What? What’s going on?” Your younger sister put her hands on her hips, waiting impatiently. She was wearing pink platform boots, a white skirt, and a pink fuzzy turtleneck sweater and a lot of jewelry with her hair styled perfectly.
“Well..?” she sounded upset, yet you could hear the worry too. “Well, something happened at the store.” You began. “No shit. That’s the whole reason I got picked up, and I mean look at you!” She waved her hands around while looking you up and down. “We’ve had an encounter with another one of Bee’s race. We believe there’s a possibility that they could be looking for him.”
Maia was unreadable at this point. Of course she was obviously upset but there was always more to her than what she showed. “What else?” You started to frown. “We’re thinking about hopping states. Moving far away.” Her eyes widened at that statement. “ …What? ” She hissed. “Maia-“ You started. “No! No, what the hell! You guys can’t.. you guys can’t just decide like that! That quickly? Seriously? What are we going to do when we leave? We have been here our whole lives!” She loomed over you.
“Maia, this is for Bee’s safety, for all of our safety.” Uncle Bruce walked over to her and tried to put a hand on her shoulder, but she quickly turned her body towards him and glared up at him. “NO! I am rightfully angry. I’m not going to leave my boyfriend or any of my friends!” She growled. “Calm down!” Aurora tried to step in. “I am PERFECTLY CALM!” She screeched, making the whole living room go silent. “I’m going out.” “You can’t do that–” “Yes I can!” Maia tied her hair up and started to walk out with her hands shoved in her pockets.
“Maia…” You started but couldn’t manage any other words. You cou ld hear the disagreements of your family around you. “It could be dangerous!” Auntie Jade tried. But you all knew you couldn’t stop her, either that or she’d probably figure a way out later which would be worse. “Just leave your location on, please!” You called out to her.
And that was it, you heard the door slam shut as you sighed heavily. This was already a long day, and it was only ten am.
“So, now that one of us stormed out already I’m guessing we’ll just have to postpone any plans we have until we figure this out?” Anastasia said while twirling one of her braids around her finger. Everyone had sullen, which was understandable considering the current predicament.
It didn’t take long for everyone to slowly leave the room to go back to what they were doing. It was best to remain looking normal for as long as possible until moving.
___
Maia had never been more grateful for having a car until now. She had left a little bit ago, driving down a poorly paved road now to go somewhere isolated. She knew that she was temper mental and easily emotional, but this cut deep. She choked back any cry that tried to rise up in her throat, and messily dialed her partner.
“ Hey! This is Denver, sorry I can’t pick up right now. I’m prolly busy doin’ some homework or chores, or jus- “ The voicemail cut off there when Maia shut it off. “Keep it together Maia, you’re fine…they’re probably just busy…” She rolled back her tense shoulders, trying to relieve some of the pain. The road looked long and wide in front of her.
It didn’t take her too long to pull up to a tall tree with apples growing on it that sat on top of a hill. The sky was cloudy and the air smelled damp like it was going to rain sometime. What snapped Maia out of her daze though, was the worried beeping coming from the backseat. “Bee! What are you doing here!?” Her head snapped to the backseat. He crawled up to the passenger's seat and plopped down. “What if some rando saw you?” She whisper yelled and groaned.
“Promise me that you keep yourself out of trouble bud, I don’t need someone finding you.” She completely turned off the faint radio that could be heard, and looked back out the window. “What would you think Bee, if we had to move? Far away.” She fidgeted with her hands.
A low pitched buzz came from him and he took one of her hands in his tinier ones. “Yeah, I would be sad too.” She smiled a tiny bit and looked back down at Bee. He had obviously grown a lot, around five feet and an inch. It always spooked her about how fast he was growing, but yet again he was an alien. So who knew how tall they could get?
It slowly started to creep up on her, the embarrassment from her outburst. Especially about how hurt you looked, she shouldn’t have done that. Yet at the same time she was still furious about the idea of moving. Maia just let herself relax for a moment, taking in the scenery in front of her. Barely anyone ever came here, so it was nice to have some time to herself. Well-- with Bumblebee of course.
The tree leaves rustled and the air was still cool. The sky was even a bright blue still since it was only mid-afternoon. Bee was fidgeting in his seat while messing with one of those scented pine tree items that hang from the rear view mirror. And Maia was just slumped against her seat with her eyes closed as she soaked in the peace and quiet.
That was, of course, until the engine roared to life out of nowhere. “Uhm, what?” Maia snapped her eyes open to look around the car to figure out what was wrong. It wasn’t until a sleek black car pulled up behind them, that it started up with a roar. “Okay, now don’t panic! NO PANICKING!” Maia screamed as her car suddenly jolted forward, rocky driving down the hill. Her and Bee were yelping and yelling desperately as the cars took sudden turns and ran over bumpy rocks.
“THIS IS NOT HOW I WANTED TO DIE!” She tried slamming her foot onto the brakes but that didn’t work out entirely how she wanted. The wheel was also turning by itself, which she tried to also gain control of but instead almost gave her rub burn. In the end she just strapped herself in after making Bee put his seatbelt on, and prayed that they both wouldn’t die at the end of an already not-so-great day.
Bee was reacting entirely differently to the situation. Obviously scared and frightened but he seemed to be also very confused. There were many emotions for such a small space, which led to a large crackle to come from the radio.
“Calm down! Jesus, fleshling stop screaming!” The radio spoke. It was all silent for a moment, Maia staring at the tiny knobs of the radio before screeching again. “MY CAR CAN TALK TOO?” She was close to crying again. “I’m not your car but yes! I can talk!” She stared dumbfounded around the car, but then her attention quickly snapped back to the car behind them. “And what about him?” “He’s the enemy-” “Well no shit! Why else would he be trying to ram into us right now!”
Bee shook Maia out of her yelling by shaking her arm. “What could it possibly be that’s so important Bee?” she said in an exasperated tone. He made some buzzes and pointed down to her phone that was still laying on the center console. “Oh, actually that’s pretty smart!” She picked it up and messily dialed you.
“Y/N!” She screeched. ‘Oh my god, what is happening Maia? I’ve been trying to reach you!’ Your voice came out from the phone speaker. “Yeah well quick recap, my car can freaking talk!” She gripped onto the handle as they took a sharp left turn. “OH! And Bee is with me!” She looked over to the young robot.
‘...’ The silence was eerie. “Uhh, Y/n?” Maia murmured. ‘HE’S WHAT?’ The loudness made Maia wince. “Yup! Not on purpose though, snuck in when I was leaving. Be glad we aren’t dead! Dead yet. Not only does the car talk but there is another that’s trying to murder us.” She put the phone on speaker and set it down.
‘And where are you going now?!’ You ask. “Uhhh… just use life360? I have no fuckin’ idea where we’re going.” She replied lamely. ‘Oh my god, Maia…’ the car quickly pulled into an abandoned multi-leveled parking garage, not minding the red and white striped security measures that were supposed to stop people from coming in. “What are you thinking!” She yelled at the car.
“I’m going to save both of your afts, that’s what I’m doing!” It replied as she reached over to clutch Bee’s hand. “What’s an aft?” Your younger sister asked mindlessly until they reached a level that had most of the plants growing on it. “Out, quickly! You two don’t need to waste anymore of my slagging time.” The car doors swung open and she didn’t take any time getting both herself and Bumblebee out.
“Wait a minute– hey what are we supposed to do! We’ll get killed!” Maia bared her teeth at the car, which now thinking about it was a very odd thing to do. “Oh, chill out. Nothing I can’t handle.” Which to her and Bee’s amazement, transformed into a giant robot. “Wow.. wait a minute, aren’t you the race of those guys who injured my sister!” She glared up at the robot. “Huh? Oh yeah, I haven't heard about too much of that yet.” He then turned to the other giant robot Maia hadn’t noticed until now. “Gee, ever heard of personal space?” Maia yelled at the shiny black and purple alien.
Chapter 5: Car Garage
Notes:
I’m so sorry for such a late update!! My life has been crazyyy
But here we are back with the family! At least, some of them. I wanna squeeze in more Bee content in the future as well but here we are with this chapter. I’ve also been having some pretty bad art block so that’s why this chapter is kinda short, sorry!
Chapter Text
It didn’t take much time for the red car that Maia and Bee were in to start fighting with the other one ferociously. They would hit against the concrete pillars and skid across the ground, leaving them the job to fend for themselves from the falling concrete. “Hey, watch it! I have a kid with me!” Maia snapped angrily while shoving Bee to the side so he wouldn’t get hurt by getting crushed under a foot.
“Just find somewhere to hide!” The giant red car fell on his butt before quickly standing right up again to fist fight the other one. “There IS nowhere to hide!” She yelled. It didn’t take very long for the ground to start shaking, as they were a few floors above the ground and the structure wasn’t meant for fights like these.
She groaned and hopped back onto her feet quickly. She tried to look around the place where it was close enough for her and Bee to hide. The ground was shaking which wasn’t helping much.
“Yeah I wouldn’t be a great mom, would I?” She sighed as she pulled out her phone and took Bee’s arm. “Y/NNNN! HELLO? You there? We are trying to not get crushed right now! Can you hurry up please?” Maia snapped and hiked up to a higher level of the garage.
‘We’re trying to get there as fast as we can! It’s not my fault you’re so far away!’ Your voice came from the speakers. “Yeah that’s great and all, but I don’t want Bee to get hurt.” She absentmindedly said while the robots slowly made there way after the two of them. ‘Did you even listen to what I—‘ you were cut off though by Maia’s ear stabbing scream when the red eyed robot started to charge after them.
“NO GOOD! I REPEAT IT IS NOT OKAY RIGHT NOW WE ARE ABOUT TO DIE!!” She started to sprint up to the very top of the garage and tried to get behind some things like a car to hide behind.
“Don’t try hiding you pests . I can smell you and your disgusting body discretions.” He hissed out until the red robot pounced onto his back, making him fall to the ground roughly. “What the fuck does that even mean-“ Maia mouthed, questioning her whole existence at that point.
Unfortunately enough for them, the dark robot slid far enough that he could see her and Bee gathered right against a run down car that looked like it had been through world wars. “¿Uhh.. no hablo íngles?” She said in an obvious American accent.
“There you are!” He shoved off the red robot with a grunt and reached out to snatch them up. “Absolutely NOT!” The sound of tires screeching against the ground could be heard. “Keep your filthy hands away from my sister and son right now!” You hopped out of a car. Uncle Bruce seemed to be in the driver's seat with shades covering his eyes.
“Great.. only more fleshies to punt off of this earth.” The red eyed alien seethed menacingly. “Okay, Maia! It was one thing to get into a fight with a kid picking on your friends! It’s another thing to get involved with a bunch of giant aliens!” You had looked to be doing better as you could stand straight and run, but you still have a limp and some minor wounds.
Maia put her hands up in surrender for a moment before bolting towards the giant purple robot. “Coming through!” She yelled while running between the confused giant’s legs. She had Bee thrown over her shoulder. The alien tried grabbing at them, but the red robot tackled them again. “Haha!” she stuck her tongue out at them before shoving Bee into the car that you drove here.
There was a bunch of yelling as the three of you piled into the car. “Put your seatbelts on everyone! It’s the fucking magic school bus now!” Maia whooped out of adrenaline and hogged the driver's seat. “You are not driving! Absolutely not! And watch your language, we have a child!” You got into the passenger's seat and tried to make her switch with you, which you were successful in doing. Bee’s whining and loud beeping could be heard from the backseat.
“I know this is very scary, Bee! But you have to hold on a little while longer!” You yelled as you made a sharp u-turn to start driving down the garage. Soon, black hefty cars and a few other colorful vehicles pulled up from the lower levels. “Looks like the military! And… is that a porsche? When do the military collect fancy cars?” Maia stuck her head out of the window to get a better look.
“Hold on you two!” Your hands tighten around the wheel as your aching leg pressed further down on the gas pedal. “What the HELL are you doing?” Your sister screamed as you all sped closer to the newly arrived vehicles.
You don’t respond until the ones blocking your way steered out of your line of driving. You didn’t notice though the two giant aliens behind you had transformed and decided to drive after you. “Uh, incoming!” Maia yelled as she looked behind through the back window. “Of course it had to be today. I JUST WANTED SOME GODDAMN GROCERIES!” You could feel the motherly instincts and road rage at full capacity now.
“They are totally going to come after us at home!” Your younger sister actually tried being the voice of reason at home. “They are never, EVER, getting their hands on my sweet baby Bumblebee.” You hiss out. Even though being completely different species, you couldn’t help but care for Bee like he was your own blood related son.
“Shit, we are totally fucked! If the government is working with the giant aliens then they’re probably after Bumblebee because he’s their species!” Maia groaned and sank in her seat. “Honestly, I'm accepting death at this point.” She stuck her head outside of the window and flipped the people off that were chasing after the three of you.
“FUCK YOU WEIRD SPACE-Y GUYS THAT HURT MY SISTER-“ But she was quickly pulled back by you. “All we need to do is get out of here and get away quickly. When we get home, I want you to quickly pack our stuff in bags and get out as fast as possible. We need to bail.” You explained.
Your younger sister sighed and looked at the backseat where Bee sat before getting up and crawling back there. “It’ll be okay, Bee,” she mumbled and pulled him into her lap. For a person made up of only metal and plating he didn’t hurt her while he sat on her lap. He whined and clutched onto her shirt tightly.
You could hear the yelps of Bee and Maia from the backseat as you made sharp turns in the giant rundown car garage until you rammed through the security bars. “Whew! That was a close one!” You huffed as you pulled out of the tiered garage and pulled down into a road that was full of potholes. “Oh, wonderful.” You groaned sarcastically.
You looked up at the rear view mirror and adjusted it to get a better look at the road behind you. You noticed a police car and a giant blue and red truck driving after you. “What the hell? Did the military get the police too? That seems so stupid..” you narrow your eyes and swerve around potholes so you wouldn’t bounce around obnoxiously.
Maia yelled as she slid around in the backseat with Bee on her lap. “Just go home!” She complained while throwing a dirty look to the vehicles behind them. “Yeah that would be nice and all, if they weren’t following us!” You snapped.
“Just do something to calm Bumblebee down! Right now!” you turned your head to look at Maia and yelled at her. “Okay, okay! Jesus!” She raised one of her hands up in surrender.
While Maia had her job to fulfill in the backseat, you were busy making sharp turns and speeding down the roads. It was a deserted part of town so no one would risk seeing you, Bee, or the vehicles driving without a driver. Speaking of, the police car even had its sirens on.
You turned around in your seat to get a better look at how many people were chasing you, but that didn’t stop you from also realizing you were about to ram into the side of a building. “SHIT!” You scream as you slam on the breaks.
Chapter 6: Back Crunching
Notes:
I really hope the format of this is good— I haven’t posted on my phone yet before!
But yeah here is a new chapter! After ages and ages oops
Chapter Text
Your limbs felt sore, more than before, and you could barely breathe. You slowly opened your eyes to witness the wreckage of what was left of the car. Your head had been knocked against the steering wheel which probably helped knock you out before. Your ears rang which had filtered out the yelling that could be heard once you had sat up crookedly.
It took you a few minutes to regain your senses fully, but that came with its major downsides. You moaned in pain since your right leg had felt even worse than before. You looked down to see a piece of metal at least a few inches deep in your calf. “Fuck…” You choked out until you remembered your family, who was supposed to be in the backseat.
“Maia!” You croaked and tried to twist your body to look behind you. You unbuckle your seatbelt and grasp onto the seat. “Maia, Bee!” You whimpered only to see no one in the backseat. You gasp when you realize that no one was there, instead only stains of blood and bits of energon. “FUCK!” You scream. The adrenaline was slowly wearing off.
“Let’s get this lady!” You heard muffled yelling before the driver’s seat of the car was thrown open by a man in military clothing. “Come on, Miss. We have to get you medical attention.” He reached out to grab you but you slapped his hands away. “Where is my family?” You asked desperately.
“They are fine, Ma’am.” Someone else started to walk up from behind, so you turned your head to see who it was. “Who- who are you?” You squinted your eyes, but your vision was bleary. “This will only pinch.” He spoke before sticking something sharp into your arm. As the noise faded out around you, your body fell against the military man who had a firm grip on you. “No, no please..” you mumbled out before fully passing out.
___
You shot straight up on the cot you were laying on. Eyes wide, sweat pouring down your face as you tried to figure out where you were. There were some doctors trying to push you back down against the cot as you struggled. You managed to at least punch one of them in the eye before getting shoved backwards.
You yelped and felt the cot underneath you against as one of the doctors cupped their eye in pain from your punch. You flailed around as you were being pinned down by your shoulders. “Get.. off of me!” You growled and kicked the other doctor in the stomach. The one who had the injured eye snatched a syringe off of a metal tray.
Instead of letting him approach you, your legs were your best weapon at the moment. You kicked as hard as you could at the doctors until slipping and falling off of the bed. “ACK!” You yelp as your body hit the cold ground. You could tell it was tile. You barely even glanced back at the doctors before hopping up onto your feet and running away. They yelled after you as you stumbled and ran into walls since you were still gaining the feeling of your feets and legs.
“Oh god, oh god--” You stared wide eyed at the tall walls until you slammed yourself through a door to see plain grey concrete walls and stone flooring. Your stomach hurt and you were dressed in a patients gown. Not the most fashionable looking you had to say. Your body did feel extremely itchy though, which you guess you hadn’t noticed before since you were too busy beating up weird doctors. This place was most definitely not a hospital and you realized that first thing when you woke up.
You could still hear the yelling of men behind you so you continued to run until you were met with an extremely open and spacious room. There were people working and they looked like they were scientists, but you could only assume. They were handling various liquids that glowed neon colors.
You kept your head low as people started to notice you. Someone even grabbed your arm and tried to tug you back!
You tugged your arm away and ducked under a desk. You crawled through and then dodged a vial of burning acid from landing on your skin. Speaking of skin, why are there so many scars on your legs? You didn’t have enough time to thinking before you got pinned to the ground by a muscular woman who’s hair was in a ponytail. You groaned and prayed your stomach issues would subside because you were laying on your stomach at the moment.
“I got her!” The woman announced and she tied your hands together behind your back. You cursed loudly and made sure to give her a dirty glare to express your annoyance. “Leave me be!” You managed to hop back up onto your feet but you were cornered by several military affiliated people. “Oh, well uh, hey there…” You smiled nervously while examining each and every one of them.
Sweat was dripping down your face and your hair was frizzier than ever.
You never felt worse in your life. Well, maybe your cramps could go up against that, but this really sucked. “Where is Maia L/N. Tell me, now.” You narrowed your eyes and straightened your back to seem not as scared as you actually were. “She is safe, that is all that you need to know about.” A guy with dirty blonde hair who was in a camouflage outfit stepped towards you with an arm out, as if he was trying to approach a feral animal.
“I want to see her. That is my little sister and I’m the one responsible for her. And my son!” Your hands were tied but your mouth was still free, so you bit the guy’s hand as hard as you could. That would definitely leave a mark. The people that were circling you leaped forward and tried to pin you back down on the ground, but your kicking skills were enough to be able let you shimmie away from the pile of strong people.
While you were pushing yourself away, you stood up and walked backwards to watch them carefully. You were hoping they wouldn’t notice that they were just fighting each other by then. It was only when you fell backwards onto something cold and hard again for the second time that day. “What the-- you quickly crawled away from whatever you fell onto and was met with what seemed to be a giant metal foot. You slowly craned your neck to look upwards to see what exactly was standing there.
You squeaked when you realized it was another giant alien robot, to be exact a quite aggravated one at that. “Tch, humans and their antics.” You could hear them scoff until they realized you had slipped out from the cat fight. “Aren’t you that one kid that had B-127?” He kneeled down so he could have an easier time inspecting you. “Kid? I’m a mother y’know, and who is B-127?” You stood up and dusted yourself off. You did not spend years raising an alien child only to be downsized to “kid.”
“Ah, well you might know him as Bumblebee then. I think that is what your intolerable younger sibling was yelling as she was being dragged away.” You eyes narrowed at the mention of your sister. “Where is she? I’d love to pay her a visit.” You crossed your arms and glowered up at the stranger. You guessed he was somewhat oriented in the medical feild by the big red cross on his shoulder, but that was hard to believe because of his demeanor. “I believe that is restricted, you are supposed to be with the human medics. The injuries you sustained were nearly fatal.” You glanced down at your body and then looked back up at him with a confused look. “Uhh, what injuries? I’m totally fine.”
That definitely had caught his attention.
“You were in a terrible state when we first brought you in! The human body from what I know is not possible to heal itself that fast.” His eyes widened before he knelt closer to the ground to take a better look. “You are covered in scar tissue. When did you wake up?” Neither of you heard the fight die down behind you. “Like, ten minutes ago? I have bigger problems to deal with first. I want my son, I want my sister, and then I want to leave! Let us live in peace!” Your voice definitely cracked during that short rant, damn you for being so small compared to this giant.
“I doubt your government would permit that.” He stood back up and looked distracted as if he was doing some super big calculation in his head. “Fuck the government!’ You yell before getting tackled to the ground. “Oof!” Your cheek smooshed against the ground as someone held your hands behind your back in place.
“God dammIT! Can’t a woman get some peace!” You threw your head back but accidentally hit the person that was holding you down on the head too. “Ouch!” The person moved their hand to rub their head from what you could assume, so took the opportunity to kick them in the crotch. Dick or not that always hurts. Having your hands tied behind your back isn’t that fun if you couldn’t guess before.
“Let her go Lennox, apparently Optimus wants her. Of course we could have done this in a much easier way than tackling her but that’s besides the point.” The alien still had a sour look from what you could see, but soon the weight on your back was lifted. It was the guy with dirty blonde hair from earlier that was on your back! You knew he had a weird vibe, but maybe that was only cause he was trying to capture you from the beginning.
It wasn’t long until you were scooped up unexpectedly by the giant robot, in which you yelped in surprise. “Woah there!” You started to wiggle frantically since your hands were still bound together and that you couldn’t really do much to break free. “Who the hell is Optimus! And don’t pick me up without my permission!” You glared at the giant robot but he seemed to care less. In some spots you seemed to notice his orange and white finish was scratched up and faded, which was odd. What were they even doing on this planet? “Don’t you think they’ll get mad at you if you take Ms. Experiment away?” The dirty blonde-ass asked. “Well I guess you were wrong, they weren’t medics!” You hissed at the orange and white bot.
“Well I’m sorry that I don’t have any control over you humans.” He retorted and kept walking through a huge doorframe.
It was odd having everything slowly crumble down. After years of work hiding Bee from everyone and living a normal (In which was actually totally bizarre) but a stupid accident had revealed it all. Might have not even been their fault, I mean who thinks your little sister’s car would be a sentient robot spying on you?
It was only in that moment when you really realized the reality of the situation. “Shit…” You desperately need to know what they did with Bee and your family. The medic bot just ignored your profanities as you two made your way to another extremely spacious room filled with more equipment, except this time it seemed much more heavy duty and meant for fighting.
“Ah, wonderful, just the place I need to be. Kidnapped somewhere military with dangerous machinery everywhere.” your tone was dripping with sarcasm as you rolled your eyes.
It was only when the white and orange robot put you down that you were faced with a large blue and red painted truck. “Uhm..” You stood there awkwardly for a moment before he finally decided to transform. You were met with a metal face of stoicalness.
“Oh, uh, hello there.” You tried to prevent your voice from wavering. “Hello, Mrs. L/n. I am Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots. We are Autonimous Robotic Organisms from the planet Cybertron.” He introduced himself. Deep down a part of you still couldn’t believe it all, maybe you were secretly believing that this was all an extremely elaborate prank. It made the feeling in your throat something nausea. “So, you’re the same species Bumblebee?” You questioned.
“Ah, yes, B-127. We are the same species. He was placed in an escape pod and that is where I presume that you found him?” Optimus Prime was on one of his knees so you’d have the feeling of being more on level with him. “That was an escape pod? I guess so, yeah.” You weren’t willing to give much more information besides that. “I know you might be at unease, but we have been working with the humans for a while. I’m sure they have your best interests in mind.” This guy had no idea how much of a bad mood.
“Why are people calling him that? Where is he? Where is my sister?” You crossed your arms and stood your ground for the hundredth time. You were starting to get fed up with this nonsense. “And don’t give me some bullshit excuse. My sister is only a highschooler, and Bee is too young for this! Out of all the times you came to snatch him up at such a young age, we were perfectly fine.”
He seemed to notice your unhappy stature (obviously--) so he glanced over to a few people who were wearing military uniforms before looking back over to you. “I am sorry, but there is not much I can do personally. B-127 is restricted and your sister is in your people’s custody, we do not have control over that.” You could tell a slight shift of emotion on his face which you paid much attention to. “I can’t believe-” You were cut off by the sound of the wall to your right crumbling. A piece of concrete had landed near your feet where you were standing. “Huh?” You exclaim and took a step back. “BiittcHHH!” You recognized that voice.
Maia!
