Chapter Text
This is an introduction for a forthcoming fic so that I really don't have to rely on author's notes, heavy exposition or unnecessary storytelling to get the basic premise across. Plus, disclaimers and such because I want everyone to know what they are about to be reading and make a choice as to whether they'd like it or not. Sorry if an introduction is a bit "Wattpad-y" but I waffled for damned near a month to figure out how to explain a simple concept without having to resort to over-tagging or making a long summary. A long intro chapter it is, then.
Warning:
There will be non-sexual parental spanking of minors in a lot of chapters. If you don't like spanking, don't read! If the discussion of such offends you, don't read any further. Seriously, if this is triggering or just not your cuppa, please save us both the trouble and go back.
Disclaimers:
- First and foremost, I made this account to share the self-indulgent non-sexual discipline stories I've written, so that's what this is. Simple, no? I like the hurt/comfort aspect of discipline stories so I wanted to try my hand at writing a few. It isn't a purely spanking fic without plot because my preference for discipline fics is character dynamics with the spanking. Long explorations of characters with spanking added, I suppose. Maybe if you don't fancy discipline fics, you might like this. Probably not. But I write here for myself and a few Twitter moots who will remain anonymous (you know who you are!) so it doesn't matter.
- To that end, I am a secondary account and I'd rather stay that way, thanks. My main account is full of shockingly different material where I currently write for BNHA and a few other fandoms. Don't ask for it because I would rather keep this separate. I might be shit at replying to feedback in a timely fashion because I am logged into/post on Ao3 far more often with my main.
- The following story notes are mostly an explanation so someone doesn't cleverly point out, "you made Endeavor too nice/mean!" Or "X wasn't doing that in canon!" I will tap the sign. Don't make me tap the sign. (The notes are the sign.)
Story Notes:
- This is going to be a collection of Todoroki stories set in an AU where Touya's Quirk isn't as self destructive and as a result, Enji continues to raise him to be a hero. It starts to hurt him around the same canon age, but it's because he has a hotter version of Hellflame in a small body with less heat resistance than his father. He has to start training slower and build up his resistance. A lot of conflict between him and Enji comes from the fact that Enji accepts this and Touya doesn't.
- The resulting lack of pressure to make a perfect child right away mellows Enji out a bit more. He realizes his mistakes way younger before he makes most of them. Spends more time with the kids, has better relationships, actually attempts to parent, raise and discipline them. He's not the warmest person but unlike in canon, he actually shows he cares while they're still little. He's not going to be a perfect parent. He doesn't always make the right choices even if he means well. Like most parents, he and Rei learn as they go and try their hardest. Plus Ultra, guys!
- There's a more functional situation overall. He and Rei get along better. However, as in canon, it's still an arranged marriage. He just gets what he wants in the first go and life is easier for everyone. He's more present for his kids, but in Enji's official capacity as a hero, he's still kind of a prideful asshole because that takes time to fix.
- I didn't want to stray too far from canon, because I love angst and drama and I love Todoroki family drama the most. Conflict is what flavors fiction, bay-bee! Some dysfunction results anyway, even without the abuse and instability. Because, welp, the Todoroki family is complicated. Beyond the changes I noted, nothing else will.
- Touya will be a little shit here because he's inherently a little shit and I love that for him. While I do love the whole Todoroki family, Dabi/Touya is my favorite character in BNHA so this will be heavily focused on him.
It goes without saying, surely, but I don't condone the IRL spanking of minors. Or anyone, without consent. Spanking should be between two (or more 😉) consenting adults. What I like to explore and write in fiction isn't necessarily what I condone in real life. Use common sense.
First chapter will be soon! Ish! (Comments off til then.)
