“Dean?”
“Sammy? Huh? Can't sleep?”
“Nope. My stomach hurts.”
“You had a salad for dinner, how can your stomach hurt? Was the lettuce too spicy?”
“Shut up and make me tea. Please.”
“No. The floor is cold.”
“That's why I bought you slippers.”
“That's a damn lie. I don't see slippers.”
“You've got your face smushed into your pillow, jerkass.”
“Observant for two in the morning, aren't we?”
“Dean. Please?”
“I can't. My legs are broken.”
“They are not.”
“They are too. Gah! Keep your feet on your side of the bed! Giving me frostbite here. What do you do while you sleep? Go ice fishing barefoot?”
“How can you feel that if you broke your legs, huh?”
“I broke my legs, not my spine.”
“Dean!”
“Okay, okay. I'm up. I'm up. Ugh. Turn on the light.”
“If I move, I will one hundred percent throw up.”
“Yeesh. Stay still. Stay very, very still. T-Rex in your face kind of still.”
“Can I have the blue mug?”
“That's my mug.”
“Yes, and I want it.”
“Is nothing sacred anymore?”
“I already put the kettle on.”
“Then what do you need me for?!”
“To put honey in there. The cap is all sticky.”
“Sam, you can hurl furniture across the room and it'll shatter into a million pieces. You can handle opening the cap to a bottle of honey.”
“You could've gone to the kitchen and come back by now.”
“Yes, dear. Right away, dear.”
“Thank you, schnookums.”
“Ooh. Don't. Nuh-uh.”
“Pookies!”
“I can't hear you! In the kitchen!”
“Deanie Beanie ”
“Absolutely not. No. I'm gonna pour honey in my freakin’ ears.”
“But, puddin' face…”
“Sammy. Drink your damn tea. Here.”
“Two teaspoons?”
“Two teaspoons.”
“Chamomile?”
“Chamomile.”
“Aw, the blue mug.”
“Yeah, the blue mug. Pepto?”
“No, this is good. Thank you.”
“Sure. Anytime. What do I need to sleep for? Fuck, I'm freezing.”
“I'll warm you up in a second.”
“It better not be by spilling tea everywhere.”
“Fuck around and find out.”
“No!”
“Puh. You're all talk, pumpkin.”
“Sammy? I think you're delirious. Do you have a fever?”
“No, I'm just tired and nauseated.”
“--and obnoxious.”
“And obn... Hey!”
“Go to sleep, Sam.”
“Usually, I'm the one telling you that.”
“Wow. You're right. You think Rod Serling is gonna show up soon?”
“If he does, tell him I like his voice.”
“Did you finish your tea?”
“Yeah.”
“You feel any better?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Good.”
“Thank you, sweetheart.”
“Hmm. You're welcome.”
“That one's fine?”
“It passes the test. Now sleep.”
“Scoot over.”
“Why? You're gonna hog the bed in a minute.”
“Fact. But scoot over anyway.”
“Mmph. You smell like tea and honey.”
“Dean?”
“Hmm?”
“I appreciate you.”
“I appreciate you too, sweetheart.”
