Work Text:
Foolish walked into the living room from his shared bedroom where he had, once again, woke up alone. This was the fourth time this week but he didn't think too much about it.
He had decided to get something to eat from the kitchen but stopped at the door seeing his two lovers play fight while cooking something. He then decided he didn't want to disturb their time together so he skipped breakfast.
He left the kitchen doorway and went out to continue working on his latest project.
It was a normal day in L'sandberg. The heat was as unbearable as always. He started working. He planned on working only for a bit today, just a simple 30 minutes to gather resources to work all day tomorrow.
But those 30 minutes turned to an hour that hour turned into 5. And by the time he realized it was already noon.
Fuck
He cursed under his breath. He lost all track of time and was extremely hungry.
He quickly jogged back inside and headed for the kitchen. He stopped looking at the mess that, he assumed, his boyfriends left all over the kitchen. Whatever they had been making had already been eaten.
He sighed, deciding to clean the mess. Which took longer than expected. He finally finished cleaning and got bread that was already out.
He walked out of the kitchen and into the living room.
His lovers were asleep peacefully cuddling with each other on the couch. He smiled but he felt a dull pain in his chest. His smile faded quickly as it hit him.
Every day this week he had woke up alone and when he woke up his lovers barely ever acknowledged him, he'd come inside after working, and theyd either be cuddling with each other or they had felt to do something by themselves. They never once invited him and they had even stopped cuddling with him at night.
He put the bread away, having lost his appetite, and walked into their bedroom. He laid down in the middle of their bed.
Maybe he was just tired and thinking too much. Maybe he had just been working too hard.
He convinced himself that was it and decided to take a nap.
°°°
Foolish drifted awake, the sun's light shining through the window into his eyes. He had slept all afternoon and night.
He sat up and stretched, alone again.
He sighed getting up and walking into the living room, heading to the kitchen.
They were still on the couch but now they were awake watching some movie.
Ponk lifted his head over the back of the couch after hearing someone enter the room.
"Hm? Oh, Mornin' foosh!" He said, waving at the other.
Foolish simply smiled back and continued to the kitchen.
Sam got up and walked to the doorway of the kitchen, leaning on the doorframe watching the other.
Foolish opened a few cabinets but nothing seemed appealing so he decided he'd eat after work today.
He turned to walk outside but stopped as he was faced with an upset Sam.
"Can I go outside, please?" Foolish asked confused.
"You're not going to eat?" Sam asked no longer leaning on the door frame and crossing his arms.
"I'm not hungry," the taller one replied.
Ponk walked over. "I and Sam made cookies yesterday,"
"Yeah and when I came inside they were gone," Foolish said annoyed "Now would you please move so that I can continue my fucking work?"
They were silent. Sam moved a bit, letting Foolish past.
The tallest of the three immediately left the house and walked straight over to the statue he had been working on.
"What's up with him?" Ponk asked, looking at Sam for answers.
Sam, just as confused, replied "No idea. We should go talk to him."
Ponk agreed and they decided to get the other food before they went to confront him.
Foolish had already started working on building on the statue. He was fairly high up.
As he placed bricks he noticed little drops of water falling onto his work. He thought it was about to start raining, but it doesn't rain here unless he causes it? He thought to himself. He soon realized that he had been crying without realizing it.
He sighed and walked to an already built part of the build and sat down with his leg dangling off the edge.
He let himself cry before he heard people climbing up the scaffolding. He quickly whipped his tears as his lovers approached him.
His eyes and cheeks were an orange. (His yellow skin + redness from crying = orange) He hoped they wouldn't notice but of course, they did.
Ponk sat down on one side of him, with his legs crossed, while Sam sat on the other, legs hanging off the side let Foolish's.
"We made you something to eat," Sam handed him a sandwich.
"And something to drink," Ponk held up a water bottle they brought for him.
"I told you guys I wasn't hungry." Foolish stared at the ground below them.
Ponk put his hand on the other's back while sam took his hand.
"What's wrong? You know you can tell us anything right?" Ponk asked, trying to get the other to look at him.
Foolish sighed. "It's stupid," he looked at him.
"Darling, if it's getting you this upset then it doesn't matter. We just want help." Sam reassured the other. Foolish turned his head and looked at Sam, He squeezed his hand reassuringly, then looked back down.
It took him a second to get the words out "I feel left out of this relationship," he sighed.
"What do you mean?" Ponk asked.
Tears started to fall again and he huffed "I feel left out, I've woken up every day this week by myself and when I walk into the room you guys rarely notice me, I go out to work on these statues and I come back into you guys gone somewhere, you never invite me to, or you're asleep on the couch cuddling with each other. We go to bed and you two have almost completely stopped cuddling with me at night. I brushed it off at first but it hurts." He choked up a few times from crying but eventually got it all out.
The other two felt terrible. They hadn't noticed how they were excluding their third lover.
Ponk started rubbing circles on his back, trying to calm the others crying.
"Baby, I'm so sorry. We didn't know." Sam rubbed his thumb over the others hand. Still holding it tightly.
"Why didn't you just tell us?" Ponk asked, laying his head down on the other shoulder.
"I don't know," Foolish sniffled, wiping away his tears "I only realized what was going on the other day." Foolish put his head on Ponks.
"We're so sorry, we promise to cuddle you tonight and only get up when you do." Sam put his head on Foolish's other shoulder.
"Promise?"
Ponk kissed Foolish's forehead. "Promise."
"Ok, now let's get out of the heat before I melt, please," Foolish said causing the other two to laugh before they got up and went inside.
They went inside, Ponk and Sam holding Foolish's hands.
They went into the living room and sat down on the couch.
"Now, will you please eat?" Sam handed the sandwich back to him.
"And Drink!" Ponk gave him the water bottle.
"Ok, Ok" Foolish chuckled a bit before he started to eat the sandwich they had made him.
Ponk and Sam cuddled closer to the other and they turned on a movie.
They eventually fell asleep on the couch. Sam and Ponk woke up first, Sam picking up Foolish bride style, carefully mot to wake him, and they went to their room to continue the cuddles.
