Eye Contact

Summary:

Sonic never looked him in the eyes.

Notes:

Work Text:

Shadow held the blue hedgehog's face. "I love you, angel."

Sonic felt his eyes dart to the side. "I love you too." The black hedgehog frowned. Why did Sonic always do that whenever he started to talk? Finally, he let go and went into the living room.

Sonic stood there. Had he done something wrong? He started to head for the living room. "Shadow?" The agent patted the spot next to him. Sonic took that as a cue to sit there. "Is something wrong?"

Shadow sighed. "Are you not able to control it?"

Sonic's eyes kept not focusing on Shadow. "Control what?"

The black hedgehog held his face. "That, every time you speak or are in a conversation with someone, you don't look at them."

Sonic laughed. "I'm sorry, it's just, I thought you knew I'm autistic. I can't keep eye contact."

Shadow felt a blush of embarrassment fill his face. "Oh."

Sonic wrapped his arms around the black hedgehog. "Don't worry. It's not your fault."
