"I'll be home soon Katsuki. Love you too," Shoto hung up the phone, surprised to see his screen dotting with rain drops when he pulls the phone away from his ear. He hadn't remembered it was going to rain—Katsuki would probably lecture him for not bringing a jacket with him. Luckily his shared home with the blonde was a fairly short walk from where he was, so hopefully he wouldn't be soaking wet.
"Boo."
At the sound of a voice directly in his ear, he whipped around with his quirk at bay. Apparently whoever was there had planned for him to do exactly that, as they were quick to grab the hero and yank him by the arm into the alley next to them.
Before Shoto could even speak, or begin to freeze his right arm, a dark mist was spritzed in his face, and he coughed as he accidentally inhaled. Off guard, the assaulter grabbed him by the throat and slammed him against the hard brick wall. Shoto went to freeze them in place, but his quirk wasn't working.
"Confused? You're not stupid Todoroki Shoto, I'm sure you can deduct that it's a quirk remover. Don't worry, it's not permanent, but don't expect it back soon enough."
Shoto couldn't even speak before a foreign mouth was on his, a gross thick tongue making him breathless; and not in a good way. The only person who had ever kissed him since graduating U.A. was Katsuki, except for the occasional platonic kisses he'd share with his close friends (which Katsuki was okay with, they both did it with their friend groups). This was uncomfortable, and Shoto felt claustrophobic. He just wanted Katsuki.
He tried to push the person off of him, but they grabbed his wrists and pinned them to the wall next to his head. He attempted to kick them between their legs, certain that regardless of gender it would hurt, but they roughly shoved one of their legs in between his. For the first time since he was a child, Shoto felt helpless. He felt weak.
The villain finally removed his mouth from Shoto's, only to slap his hand over it instead, not wanting to risk the hero trying to call for help. Shoto licked his hand at an almost childish attempt to get it off of his face, but to no surprise it didnt work. The person wasn't the slightest bit grossed out; possibly the opposite. Shoto then tried biting their hand—that caught them off guard. They yelped, moving their hand away for just a moment. But a moment was all Shoto needed, immediately yelling the one hero's name who he knew would hopefully hear him regardless of how far he may be.
"Tentacole!" Shoto's scream was quickly muffled by the villain, who nudged their knee harder into his crotch as they put their hand back over his mouth. With his free hand, Shoto punched them in the stomach, and began to ran out of the alleyway and in the direction of his house. Just as he turned a corner, he ran straight into someone and fell backwards, hard.
"Found you."
A shiver went down his spine, recognizing that voice as the man from before. Where was everyone? How was nobody else seeing this?
Before another thought could cross his mind, he was kicked in the face, his head knocking into the concrete. He tried to sit back up, but was kicked again. And again. The villain laughed, as if this was a game. Shoto's head was throbbing, his body now heavy with his rain soaked hero suit. He tried to call out Tentacole's name again, along with any other hero who might be on patrol nearby, but unintentionally cut himself off with an "oof" as the villain stomped on his chest. He had only gotten top surgery a couple weeks ago, so his chest was still extremely sensitive. He was now grateful he hadn't opted for stitches, as they would most definitely have began to tear by now. His train of thought was cut short by a hand snatching his wrist, dragging him into another alley nearby. How convenient. Shoto tried to writhe out of their grip, but they laughed almost maniacally as they tightened their hand around his arm.
They threw him against the wall, sitting on his stomach with their thighs restraining him from the sides. He kicked his legs desperately, feeling stupid. How could he let himself get caught this easily? He was in the top ten pro hero rankings, what would the people think of him if they saw him this way?
He was almost numb to the feeling of his assaulter making their way down his torso, to his hips. He looked to his side, trying to see how deep in the alley he was. If he attacked the villain, could he get away in time?
His attention was forced back to the villain as he felt a sharp pain in his side, crying out. They had stabbed him, knowing the look in his eyes. He wouldn't be getting away if they didn't want him to.
He was trying to regulate his breathing, but was shocked to feel a cool breeze between his legs. Wait-
"Imagine how shocked the press would be to see that their beloved Shoto was a fucking tr*nny. Wouldn't that be something? I'm sure it'd be all over the headlines," the villain chuckled as they spread Shoto's legs, forcing them apart each time he tried to close them.
Shoto had been very good about keeping his past self a secret, going as far as refusing photoshoots with magazines to make sure he didn't get caught in the midst of changing. He got his father to change the legal information on everything, since he knew his father was willing to do just about anything to keep his trust. They had been slowly rebuilding their relationship, and Shoto nearly cried when he saw his sex marked as 'M' on his birth certificate. How Enji had done that legally he wasn't sure. Shoto had been on HRT for years, and gotten the best surgery he could afford while doing so with a private team of doctors who had sworn to keep it off record. All he and his friends and family had done, was now at risk.
"If you don't want me to say anything, stop fighting."
Shoto felt his eyes begin to water, breath wavering. But he stayed silent, resisted the urge to kick the person above him in the face and run. He wouldn't get far anyways, with the short but sharp knife still digging into his stomach. Instead he let his head fall back onto the pavement, looking up at the rain falling. He wasn't sure how much of the water streaming down his face was rain and how much was tears. But before he could feel the villain start touching him, he felt a vibration in his pocket, and the default ringtone echoing loudly throughout the alley. The villain grabbed his phone, reading the name aloud.
"'Izuku'? As in the hero Deku? Don't want him to get worried; let's answer. Wouldn't want to be rude," they said as they clicked accept.
"Shoto, are you okay? Shouji called Eijirou and I and said he thought he heard you yell his name, but wasn't sure. We were gonna call Kacchan but didn't want to alarm him if it was nothing serious, is everything alright? Do you need backup?" Izuku spoke at a mile a minute, making the villain roll their eyes. They glared at Shoto and mouthed, "call it off." Shoto took in a shaky breath as he tried to make sure his voice sounded fine.
"I'm okay Midoriya, thank you for your concern. Let Katsuki know I'm bringing home ingredients for katsudon. You, Kirishima and Shouji are welcome to come as well, I'm only a 20 minute walk from the house. Oh, and feel free to invite Sero. Can you pick up some drinks?" Shoto said as calmly and monotone as he could, looking directly at the villain and praying Izuku would recognize the code speaking. He whispered, "Deku talks a lot. I have to make a short conversation to make sure he's off my back," as the villain looked at him skeptically. They didn't hang up the phone though, just sat on top of his torso again to ensure he didn't try anything.
Without missing a beat, Izuku responded, "No problem! Is beer okay?"
"Yes, beer is fine."
Izuku knows Shoto hates beer. What he's really asking is if Shoto's being held up by a villain.
"Can you let Bakugou know you'll be coming?" Shoto asks. But he's really telling him to do the opposite, not talk to Katsuki, because he knows his husband would be there in a matter of minutes and right now he couldn't bear to let him see Shoto like this.
"Eiji's already letting him know that we'll be there in a bit, see you when you get there!" Izuku hung up, immediately going to the 'Class A' tracking app. They had agreed as a class to make it, regardless of where they were located, in case anyone was in trouble and needed help. It would track the location as long as the phone was powered on, which was convenient as Izuku figured whoever was with Shoto was the one controlling whether or not Shoto had his phone.
Shoto felt the slightest bit at ease, as he could tell the villain didn't pick up on the hidden meanings in their conversation. They shoved the phone back in his pocket , and kissed Shoto roughly. Shoto couldn't do anything if he wanted to, but he screamed into the kiss when he felt the knife being dug deeper into his side. The person grinded onto Shoto, and they moaned into his mouth and shoved their tongue further down his throat. They must have had some kind of lizard related quirk, because their tongue was literally going down his throat, suffocating him. They moaned louder at the feeling of Shoto gagging on their tongue, eyes rolling back.
"Shoto!"
The dual toned hero almost cried in relief at the sound of his friend's voice, glad he had understand him and been able to find him before the villain could go any further. He gasped for air when their tongue made it's way out of his throat, and cried out when they pulled the knife from out of him. They began to run, but were captured by Hanta's tape. They struggled for a bit, but Hanta then taped his mouth as well to shut them up.
Izuku and Eijirou ran to Shoto, while Mezo and Hanta dealt with the villain. They decided to get Shoto away from the scene, not wanting to make him have to deal with any police or reporters.
Eijirou carried Shoto bridal style, while Izuku led them in the direction of an abandoned warehouse. But apparently it wasn't completely abandoned—Izuku had set up one of the rooms in it to have first aid supplies and even found a few mattresses to place haphazardly around the room.
Shoto was laid on the bed, quickly staining the white mattress a crimson red. He winced as the top half of his suit was removed, Izuku apologizing repeatedly as he wetted a wash cloth with rubbing alcohol and pressed it to Shoto's side. It was just his luck, the knife had managed to not hit anything vital (if it had, he would have passed out by now), so after the bleeding stopped Izuku was able to stitch and bandage the wound. Eijirou said the other two had kept the villain, who's name Shoto asked Eijirou to not tell him, had been taken into custody. Shoto was too weak to do anything but let out a breath of acknowledgement, grateful that at least nobody else would have to suffer the way he did.
Izuku and Eijirou's conversation was fading in and out as Shoto was clinging to consciousness, not wanting to fall asleep before being back in Katsuki's arms. The redhead noticed Shoto's eyes fluttering, and realized they needed to get him home to Katsuki as soon as possible.
"Shoto, I swear if you got held up in another last minute chase, I'm going to make you request time off-" Katsuki cuts himself off, seeing his husband barely awake and being held up by two of his friends. He wasted no time rushing over, cupping Shoto's face in his hands. Shoto couldn't even look him in the eye, but he began to tremble at the warm embrace of his lover. He yearned for Katsuki, needed to feel his hold and feel safe and secure. Eijirou said they'd head back home, and when Katsuki asked what happened Izuku said it wasn't their place to explain.
"Sho, what happened?" Katsuki asked in the most gentle voice he'd ever used.
Shoto began to sob.
Katsuki held him close, trying to find a balance between making sure his husband felt safe but not crushing his ribs too tightly. Shoto was still covered in blood and bruises, since there wasn't enough time to patch him up completely with the other two. Shoto held onto Katsuki desperately, gripping the back of his shirt as he nearly collapsed in his arms from pure exhaustion. The events of the evening were finally catching up to his body, and he could barely hold himself up anymore.
Katsuki simply picked him up as if he were a bag of potatoes, and carried him to their bathroom. He went to set him down, but Shoto hung onto Katsuki with no intention of letting go. He continued to cry as Katsuki held him, gently rocking him side to side, rubbing a hand on his back.
"You gotta let me set you down so we can get patched up, okay?" Katsuki tried once again to set Shoto down on the counter, but Shoto whimpered and held him even tighter. In the back of his mind, he knew he was being childish—he was a grown man, in his thirties, a pro hero who's job is to save lives every day, and here he was clinging to his husband like a six year old. But he couldn't find the energy to care.
After another couple minutes Katsuki went to set him down once again, and Shoto hesitantly let himself be put on the bathroom counter. Katsuki made sure Shoto couldn't see himself in the mirror, knowing he would only feel worse seeing himself in such a state. Shoto felt tears well in his eyes as Katsuki began to peel off his soaking wet suit, lifting his arms just enough to allow his top to be taken off. When his lover went to take off his pants, Shoto's breath hitched. The image of the villain's shadow flashed in his mind when he blinked, and he moved away instinctively. When Katsuki looked up to ask what was wrong, the words died on his tongue when he saw the terrified look in Shoto's eyes. It was like he was looking at somebody else.
"Shoto, baby? I need to take them off so I can see where to check for injuries. You can look at me the whole time, okay?" Katsuki was beginning to put the pieces together, but made sure to not show any of his usual violence or anger to avoid setting off his husband. Shoto nodded, allowing Katsuki to take off his pants and throw them on top of his top in their laundry basket.
Katsuki quietly worked on cleaning all the cuts and scrapes, feeling his heart break a little each time Shoto hissed or winced when he dabbed a bit of rubbing alcohol on a sensitive spot. Normally he could do this himself without batting an eye, but he was just so...broken. Katsuki had never seen Shoto this defeated. He wasn't weak by any means, if anything he was so incredibly strong for holding up the way he was. But he needed to know he could be vunerable too.
Katsuki was about to ask Shoto to try to tell him what happened, but when he saw the bite marks with blood smeared on his neck, he realized the gist of what happened and he stilled. He was torn between trying to continue to comfort Shoto or going out there and killing whoever the fuck thought they had the right to try to touch his lover.
"I'm sorry," Shoto's voice was soft, so soft Katsuki wouldn't have heard it if he wasn't listening. He must have misread his expression.
"Don't apologize, I'm not mad at you. You're not to blame at all. Please, don't apol- don't apologize," Katsuki's voice began to waiver as he realized how much Shoto must been hurting, how much he tried to fight back. Katsuki, the man who hadn't genuinely cried since he broke his arm when he was five, began to break down as he held Shoto tight. This, of course, set off a whole new wave of tears in Shoto as he buried his face in the crook of Katsuki's neck, chest heaving. Katsuki cried as he whispered, "I'm so sorry," a dozen times, wishing more than anything he had realized Shoto was in trouble when he was so late to get home.
They stayed like that for a bit, neither ready to let go. It took some time, but Katsuki finally calmed down and pulled himself away from his husband. He began to run a hot bath, with enough bubbles so that Shoto didn't need to see his bottom half, and finished patching Shoto. He checked on his stab wound, replacing the bandage with one that wouldn't get ruined in the water. With a gentle nod of permission, he helped Shoto off the counter and pulled down his boxers, setting them in the basket along with his own clothes. By the time he was done, the tub was filled and the bubbles were threatening to spill over. Katsuki turned the water off, guiding Shoto in then stepping in after. With both of them having quirks relating to heat, he knew they both preferred hot water, so he didn't worry about it being too hot. Besides, if it was really hot now, it'd stay warm a bit longer. This was a bath slightly more for comfort than cleaning, so they could take their time and not worry about the water dirtying.
Katsuki held Shoto close to his chest, arms wrapped around his waist and resting his forehead on his shoulder. Shoto leaned into the embrace, closing his eyes. He held himself up with the little enough he had left while Katsuki gently scrubbed him clean, avoiding his private area, and used a small cup they kept in their bathroom to pour the water over his body like a waterfall to rinse the soap suds off. He took his time washing Shoto's hair, knowing the feeling of his hands through his hair was probably helping. He tapped Shoto's chin, telling him to tilt his head back, and waterfalled another cup of water through his hair to get the shampoo out. He conditioned, repeated the rinse cycle, and the two sat there for a bit longer until Katsuki's behind was sore from sitting in the tub for so long.
He helped Shoto up, wrapping him in a big soft towel and draining the tub before wrapping himself in a towel as well, walking with Shoto to their bedroom. Katsuki helped him put on comfortable clothes, a pair of sweatpants and one of Katsuki's larger hoodies, and quickly put on his own sleepwear—which was just sweatpants—and pulled back the covers so he and Shoto could get comfortable. Once they were settled, he pulled the giant blanket back over them, and pulled Shoto close to him as Shoto curled to his chest. Normally they spooned, but it was understandable that Shoto would want to be able to see Katsuki and know he was there, know he wasn't alone.
"You can take as much time as you need, I'll call and let the agency know we're gonna take a vacation week. If you need longer I'll talk to Enji himself. I know you probably don't want to, but you are gonna have to tell me the full story about what happened. I won't tell anyone if you don't want me to, okay?" Katsuki looked at Shoto, who nodded into his chest. He had more to say, but he needed to take care of Shoto first before they could have a full conversation about what had happened.
"I love you, Sho," Katsuki whispered.
"I love you too, Kat. Thank you," Shoto responded, eyes falling shut. Katsuki hummed, softly rubbing circles into Shoto's back as he felt him fall asleep.
