Chapter Text
Wilbur never thought he would wake up in a different world one day when falling asleep. He never thought he would be in a darker world than that of his own, nor did he believe he would fall into such a strange place. Sweat beaded down his forehead as he hid in his room, the blue sheep of the other whom he replaced sitting beside him. This wasn't home, this wasn't Techno's Cabin, nor was it Phil's. This wasn't L'Manberg or Pogtopia, no... This was someplace new. Wilbur sighed as he slowly got up, checking his pockets for a cigarette, but found none.
"He didn't smoke... At least he had that part together." The brunette sighed. He looked through all the books he could find, opening them and looking for any information on who this person, this "Wilbur", was. As he tossed book after book aside a knock came from the door. Wilbur jumped and looked towards the door as it opened, this world's Philza Minecraft standing there. He held a platter in one hand, the other gloved hand holding the door open. The two locked eyes for a quiet moment, it felt like a lifetime for Wilbur before the older one spoke.
"Well, I didn't expect you in that getup in a long time. Are you doing ok Will? I know you said you didn't feel well last night, so I figured I would make you some soup." Wilbur didn't mean to show his true emotions, but he couldn't hold them back. He walked over to his father figure of this world and hugged him. "Mate?" Phil asked, wrapping an arm around the scrawny male. Wilbur didn't want to answer; the blond being right there in his arms was enough for him.
"Will, are you alright? You seem sick." The blonde asked as his son melted into the embrace they were dragged into. "No Phil, I'm not alright. I'm not fine, I'm not anything. I... This isn't where I belong. This isn't my home. And I don't mean that stupid, oh I need to find a new place and spread my wings bull." Phil raised a brow at this statement.
"I mean... Phil, I am from a whole other world, where there is at least joy still left."
The blond stood there in complete shock. It wasn't until the blue sheep walked over to the two and nudged on their legs did Wilbur finally let go. He took a breath.
"I've seen so much damage just by standing in that kitchen this morning. I raised my hand to say hello to Tommy, and he flinched away. I tried talking to Techno about a potato farm, which I know he loves, and he just slams a door in my face saying "I don't do farms anymore." What happened to this world Phil? You even had something going on with you! One minute you were Phil, all good and stuff, then you go quiet and suddenly it's like a new person is in your body! If it's that bad here then... Oh gods Fundy." Wilbur looked towards the door. "Fundy's left alone! What happened to Fundy!? Is he dead!?" Wilbur didn't wait for an answer as he rushed past Phil, ignoring the calls for his name as he ran to the front door, stepping onto the snow. He looked around for some way back to where he knew, he just knew, Fundy needed him. The cold crisp air hurt his lungs as he rushed in a direction, seeing the light of a beacon; it was how his Techno had it set up as well.
"Wilbur!!" A voice yelled for him, but he didn't care as he started to run, his brown coat flapping behind him as he hurried. Snow crunching under his black boots, his black pants catching on trees and bushes as he rushed through the forest towards the portal. His lungs filled with cold air and struggled to give him easy breathing. His glasses struggled to hang on, bouncing on his reddening nose when he jumped over a hole in the ground. The all too familiar sounds reached Wilbur's ears as he reached the clearing that the nether portal rested. Wilbur's brows draw together as he looked at the purple swirls. He always hated the nether, it was too hot and dark. It reminded him of that train station, those tracks he wandered in hopes of finding someone or some sort of comfort. Before the brit took his first step through the portal he heard someone running towards him. 'Phil followed me. Probably to bring me back.' He thought as he turned around. What shocked him was that Tommy was who followed him. He looked at the small, fragile teen; watching him as he walked up to the portal with a bag over his shoulder.
"Well, are we going or not? Pinkza told me to follow you since I know more about what happened." Tommy spoke, his voice not the proud and loud boy he knew. The fact he spoke this way broke Wilbur in two, his heart becoming heavy as he slowly pulled Tommy in for a tight embrace. Tommy froze, but let the other knowing he probably needed it. Wilbur kept him there, swearing to himself to fix things for both, this Tommy and his Tommy. He slowly let go of the other, but kept a hold of his hand, nodding to answer his question. Tommy nodded and stepped through, dragging Wilbur behind him. The two stepped onto a bloodied cobble path, Tommy barely flinching from the sight. Wilbur was shocked by the sight but followed Tommy past it. Wilbur felt the heat start to get to him, his breathing unable to steady itself. He tried to take a deep breath, but it was too shakey.
A train siren sounds out as Wilbur looked up, the train tracks in front of him. His eyes widened as he looked around, his reddened hands trembling as he tried to look for Tommy. Wetness started to hit Wilbur's cheeks as tears rolled down, his breathing shallow. He couldn't see him. He couldn't find Tommy.
"Tommy?!" He called, his voice shaking as he looked. "Tommy please! I-I need you! I-I can't.. I-I can't go back!" He stammered, trying to get some form of answer. The tall brunette fell to his knees, curling in on himself with his arms over his head, yelling for the little man. Wilbur couldn't hear anything.
"...bur... ilbur... Wilbur!"
