At 6:45 am in the morning goes Lucy’s alarm clock off. Lucy reaches out for her phone, which lays on her nightstand and turns the alarm off.
“Five more minutes”, grumbles the other woman behind her, kisses Lucy's naked shoulder and pulls her closer to her. She doesn’t want to get up yet, she wants to stay in bed with her girlfriend. Kate can be a little clingy when she is tired and still doesn’t have her coffee. But the Junior Agent doesn’t complain about it at all. She loves to wake up in Kate’s arms, she feels so safe in her arms.
Lucy and Kate are at Lucy’s house. After they dropped the cooling box with the fingers off, they went to Kate’s office got her things and then the couple drove to Kate’s apartment so that she can pack a bag for the weekend. Tara had suggested they could spend a few days at her place. Actually, this is the first time Kate is at Lucy’s home. The couple have only met at Kate’s apartment before. They spent almost the whole weekend in Lucy’s bed, they celebrated in a special way because they solve a case.
The NCIS Agent turns around to look at her girlfriend into her face. She gives her a kiss on the lips. “Good morning, my love.” Tara is a morning person; she is always in a good when she wakes up. Not matter what time it is. She knows that her girl isn’t really a morning person at least not without her coffee. “Morning”, mumbles Kate with half closed eyes.
“I’ll make us some coffee”, announces Lucy and sits up in her bed. After all she knows that her love first needs her morning coffee. “Good idea.” Without coffee Kate isn’t really awake. She needs every morning at least one coffee to be awake.
Lucy was about to get out of the bed when a hand grabbed her arm. “Wait.” The black-haired woman turns her head to see what her girlfriend wants. “I need another kiss”, pouts the blonde. Lucy chuckles and leans down to kiss her girlfriend. “Satisfied?” whispers the shorter woman against Kate’s lips. “For now.” Lucy gives her love a second kiss on the lips before she slips out of the bed.
But before the NCIS Agent goes to the kitchen, she puts some clothes on because she doesn’t really want to walk around naked. She pulls a slip on. The tiny agent also puts on a white long-sleeved shirt that belongs to Kate, which she threw on the floor last night. Of course, the shirt is way too big for her, it goes up to the middle of her thighs and the sleeves cover her hands almost completely, you can only see her fingertips.
Kate stays in the warm bed for a while longer. After a few minutes, the blonde woman finally decides to get out of the bed. Whistler puts on a black sweatshirt and she also puts on a pair of sweatpants. She goes to the kitchen where Lucy waits that the coffee is finally finished. Fortunately, it doesn’t will take too long for the coffee to be ready. Her love looks so adorable in her shirt. It will never get old to see her girlfriend in her clothes.
Kate walks over to Lucy and lays her arms from behind around her. “You look cute in my shirt”, tells the blonde woman and nuzzles her head on Lucy’s neck. Lucy leans back against the taller woman and puts her arms over Kate’s. She enjoys being near her Kate. “Really?” asks the NCIS Agent like she doesn’t know it already. “The shirt suits you better than me”, answers Kate and kisses the neck of the other woman.
“I’m going to the balcony”, says the DIA Officer and pulls back from the hug and gives her girlfriend a kiss on the head. “Okay. I’ll be right there with the coffee.”
The black-haired woman takes two dark blue mugs out of the cupboard. Lucy hears her phone. She places the mugs next to the coffee machine and goes into her bedroom to see who it could be. It’s a message from Tennant, her boss. The Junior Agent needs to go undercover and play poker. This will be her first undercover mission. Lucy is nervous about this. She takes a deep breath and walks back in the kitchen.
Tara can see that the coffee is finally ready. Lucy drinks her coffee black and Kate drinks her coffee with milk and two dice of sugar. The shorter woman once accidentally drank from Kate’s coffee and immediately made a face; she found the coffee far too sweet. She hadn’t really paid attention to which cup she ended up using. The Junior Agent wonders how someone can drink the coffee so sweet. You have to be afraid of getting a sugar shock.
She knows Kate is wondering the same thing about her coffee. The very first time Lucy brought Kate a cup of coffee, it was black, like she would drink it herself. Because she had no idea how the other woman drinks her coffee. How can someone drink black coffee? It tastes really bitter.Both usually drink two cups in the morning. Kate rarely eats something for breakfast.
Lucy goes out onto the balcony with the two full cups. It’s cold but not uncomfortable. Whistler has already put a light gray blanket over her legs. “Here’s your coffee, milady.” The shorter woman gives her girlfriend one of the mugs. “Thanks babe.” “Of course”, replies Lucy and sits down next to her love. Kate lays the blanket over Lucy’s naked legs, so she doesn't get cold.
The blonde takes a sip from her coffee and turns her head to look at her girlfriend. “Everything okay?” asks Whistler worried when she notices that something is off with her love. “I have to go undercover today”, confesses Lucy and plays with the rim of her cup.
“What kind of undercover work is this?” asks the DIA Officer curious. The taller woman still remembers how she felt when she got her first undercover mission. She was afraid of failing, doing something wrong and ruining the chances of arresting the suspect. But she was also scared to get hurt. The blonde should go to an illegal underground fight club. She had to wear a mask; one might have thought it was just a masquerade ball. Everything turned out well and the organizer of the fights was arrested.
“Tennant texted me I need to go to an underground poker tournament to find out which high-roller is behind the crime”, answers the black-haired woman, that was the only thing that her boss texted her. Jane will give her more information when she is at work. This is her big chance to show what she can do. Kate realizes that her love is nervous and tries to calm her down. “You can do it. Everything will be okay.” The blonde woman believes in her girl. Lucy feels better after Kate’s words.
Kate knows how dangerous undercover works can be. She did a few undercover missions herself. The DIA Officer got hurt a few times. One time it was so bad that she laid for three days in a coma. So, she can understand her lover. “But please be careful.” The taller woman is always worried about her love. “I’m always careful”, protests the NCIS Agent. Whistler just gives her girlfriend a look. Lucy sees this look and rolls with her eyes. “I promise I try.” This answer is enough for the blonde.
Kate lays her arm around the other woman to pull her closer to her. Lucy cuddles into her side.“We could have mornings like this more often”, suggests the tiny agent after a moment of silent. “I would like that.”
The two women cuddle with each other under the light gray blanket and just enjoys being close for a few moments. It’s a fantastic view from the balcony. Whistler and Tara have to be at work at 8 am. Luckily, it’s only a 15-minute drive to their workplace. They drink their coffee in peace before they have to get ready for work.
