Ohm

Summary:

After five BL series, Ohm was ready to close that chapter of his life and expand his horizons…until he heard that Nanon would be his partner.

Notes:

This story is purely fiction and born out of my imagination. All mistakes are mine.

This is little bit of continuation of part 1, but mostly a change of POV. Reading the first part is not necessary, but it is recommended.

Also, I just want to say, Ohm and Nanon are really good kissers.

Work Text:

Nanon slid his arms around Ohm's neck, eyes narrowed in challenge. Then he looked straight into his best friend’s eyes and said, “kiss me, kiss me like you mean it.”

Ohm smirked, without realizing he was doing so. Nor did he realize that he took that smug, one sided curl of his heart shaped lips from Pat, who was inside him, still unformed, without flesh or a beating heart. But his bones were aligned, melding with tissue, tendon and sinew; all the building blocks needed to come alive.

At that moment, there was just one thing Ohm knew with complete certainty — neither he or Pat would ever back down from a challenge.

Ohm’s eyes flicked to Nanon’s lips, eyes and back to his lips again. He drank in every detail, the slight tremor of  full lips, the uncertainty in beautiful chestnut eyes carefully hidden under bold bravado and desire. He saw it all. Ohm moved one of his hands to cup Nanon’s chin, tilting it slightly, the other remained wrapped around Nanon’s waist, holding him flush against his body. His lips went back to take what was his, no longer asking.

Ohm tasted Nanon’s lip, sucking them slightly and absently noticed how soft and plush they were. He gave them a languid lick and Nanon let out a gasp, his eyes fluttering close. That delicate parting of pink lips was enough for Ohm to dip his tongue into the slick heat of his friend's mouth. Ohm slid his hand up, caressing Nanon’s face then sliding it further, fingers slipping into soft hair at the back of his head, cradling it. Nanon’s nails dug into his nape. Ohm closed his eyes and deepened the kiss.

Tongues slicking and sliding wetly, going deeper and harder in frenzied exploration, tasting each other, thrusting, licking — heads moving in tandem, giving and taking — soft moans and wet, obscene, sounds filling the silence of the empty workshop — dizzy, lungs burning with the lack of oxygen —  breaking apart, lips clinging, reluctant to let go — limbs shivering, holding on to each other, catching their breath.

“What the fuck, Ohm,” Nanon cursed, his voice shaky. He wiped his lips and glared at Ohm, acting as if he wasn’t the one who had initiated this whole mess of a situation. Ohm tried to suppress it, but he could not hold it back. He burst out laughing and after a brief moment of resistance, Nanon cracked.

The two boys stood in the empty room, glowing in the lingering sunlight of the setting sun filtering in through the window pane, full of youth, vitality and golden dreams, locked in each other's arms, shaking with laughter.

Ohm Pawat was an onion.

If you ask people who have just met him, they will say Ohm is a tall, handsome young man with a good attitude and a lovely smile.

His high school friends will tell you that he was very popular in school, that he talked without a single filter and had the sense of humor of a ten year old. They would call him the craziest fucker who did the weirdest things for shits and giggles and recall all the times they wanted to strangle him because of his merciless teasing. Life was never boring around Ohm.

His parents will say he is a loving, cheerful, filial son who leads a disciplined life. He eats healthy, sleeps early, goes to gym daily, makes merits and loves cars passionately. He is also borderline OCD and cleans and organizes his room himself because he cannot sleep on his bed if there is even a single wrinkle on it. They will let you know that Ohm has a fierce streak of stubbornness in him and once he makes up his mind about something, it’s near impossible to convince him otherwise.

His brother will tell you, Ohm is an asshole who doesn’t let him drive his car, just because he had once taken it out without asking and got a scratch on it. A teeny tiny scratch that nobody normal would notice, but Ohm did, and blew his fuse. What a Jerk! Then he will grudgingly admit that sometimes his brother was okay. Ohm was generous with his money, and would help him whenever he needed to sneak out of the house to meet his girlfriend, or got into trouble at school, or needed help with his homework. The last thing he will tell you is that although he was younger, his muscles were bigger than Ohm’s.

Ohm’s university professors will say that he is a top student who stands out because of his curious mind, sharp intellect and eloquent speaking skills. He is always prepared for class, puts in extra effort on his assignments and is a team player. Then they will inform you that it is a joy teaching Ohm, except for the times he plays pranks in class, which unfortunately is all the time.

His film crew and partners will praise Ohm for his talent and dedication to acting and his thoughtfulness towards others. Ohm comes prepared for his scenes, has zero hangups and he never complains about extra takes or difficult filming conditions. They will also tell you that he is an incorrigible flirt who likes to roam around the set shirtless, and if he really likes you, he will sneak up on you, and burp or fart near your face.

But there are some things Ohm keeps to himself. His insecurity about his looks growing up, which is why he works out so hard to sculpt a body he takes pride in. How his experience working in the industry and everything that came with it changed him. He is more cautious now, more tight-lipped, and his inner circle has dwindled to a trusted few. The way he loves his fans, but avoids spending too much time on social media because words hurt. How he feels he is still lacking as an actor and all the effort he puts to better himself. How sometimes he gets envious of junior BL actors who quickly rose to fame and are getting more opportunities than him. At times he wonders if there is something about him, some innate inadequacy or inherent fault which is why his partners don’t stick as a ship. These things, Ohm doesn’t share.

The first time Ohm met Nanon at GMMTV, he had been intimidated. Nanon had been in the company forever and was comfortable in his skin. Everyone there, from the janitor to the chairman, knew him and loved him.

For Ohm, getting into GMMTV was a huge opportunity. The chance to play against Singto still seemed unreal. Ohm was 14 when he was picked off the streets and put on a show. He didn’t have an agent, industry insiders, or connections, and after his series ended, he had no direction. He just knew that he had found his passion, that he wanted to act. When GMMTV called him and offered him a role and a contract, Ohm felt his dreams were coming true.

When he saw Nanon, Ohm had hidden his nervousness and played it cool. He greeted his university junior but acting senior with a head nod and a slight smile.

“It was a slight, friendly smile!” Ohm would insist later when they became friends and could laugh about it.

Nanon’s eyes had skated past him, as if he didn’t exist, and all of Ohm’s insecurities buoyed to the surface, heating up his face and neck. Embarrassed, he looked away and didn’t engage with Nanon anymore, choosing instead to chat with Chimon and the others. Later, they had remained like two satellites, at times passing each other but staying in their own orbits. All that changed when they both got cast for Blacklist and their lives collided.

“It was your face, your face was annoying,” Nanon told Ohm, then sheepishly confessed, “I don’t know why I behaved so weirdly that day.” Ohm had smiled and ruffled Nanon’s hair, accepting the unspoken apology.

The first time Ohm had given Nanon a ride in his car, it was awkward as hell. He was heading to the film set and had reversed his car from the driveway to hit the road when he saw Nanon waiting on the street looking nervous, while his mom was on the phone talking to someone. Ohm sighed, then stopped his car like a good neighbor should, and got out to help. They couldn’t start shooting anyway if the lead was missing.

It turned out that their car had broken down and the mechanic was still half an hour away. Nanon’s mom thanked Ohm profusely when he offered a ride. She sent Nanon with him, and stayed back to wait for the mechanic.

“Thanks,” Nanon muttered after getting onto the passenger’s seat.

Ohm gave a curt nod and turned on the radio. He had no desire to make small talk.

These rides continued while Nanon’s car was in the garage getting fixed, and later it just made sense to go to the filming location together. Sometimes Nanon’s mom would join, other times it was just them.

They started talking.

They realized they supported the same football club, had deep hatred for one of their professors and they both played the guitar. Sometimes they practiced their dialogues or talked about their upcoming shoot, or Chimon’s antics on the sets, but most times they had animated arguments about everything — which was the better cinematic universe, Marvel or DC? Who was a better player, Messi or Ronaldo? Which would be a better vacation spot, Japan or Amsterdam? They never ran out of things to discuss or bad puns and dirty jokes to share.

Sometimes, when driving back late at night after a long exhausting shoot, they would roll down the windows, slide back the sunroof, and with the wind kissing their faces and the moonlight caressing their skin, they would blast music and sing along to their favorite songs.

Ohm developed a profound respect for Nanon, his dedication to his craft, his artistic versatility, and his maturity. When Ohm was with Nanon, he felt inspired to give his best and had fun doing it.

By the time Blacklist ended, they were best friends.

Ohm had already made up his mind not to do any more BL series when P’Aof cornered him in a dressing room and offered him the role of Pat.

“P’Aof, you know that I love you, and I am very sorry, but it’s a firm no for me.”

“What if Nanon plays your partner?” P’Aof asked.

“I accept.”

P’Aof snorted out a laugh and handed him the script, then told him, he would talk to Nanon later that day and let Ohm know.

Ohm took the script home and read it, right after, he called Nanon.

“I want to act with you, do it for me.”

Nanon didn’t give an answer then, but the next day P’Aof called Ohm to tell him that Nanon had accepted the role of Pran. Ohm pretended there was never any doubt.

After ending the call, Ohm let out a loud whoop and ran to his room like a madman, startling his mother and the cat. He dropped down on his bed, holding the script to his chest, not caring about messing up his pristine bed sheets. His face was lit with the brightest smile that refused to dim. The last time he had felt this excited about a project was when he got casted in Dew.

He wanted to go meet Nanon but he settled for a text.

Ohm: Looking forward to meeting you khun Pran 😆

Nanon: Same here, khun Pat 🙄

Nanon: Hope you are happy now 😒😝

Ohm: VERY!!! ❤️❤️❤️😘😘😘

Their first workshop was turning into a disaster. Nanon was struggling. He just couldn’t get Pran, and whenever Ohm would lean towards him, he would visibly flinch. Ohm saw how hard Nanon was trying to overcome his mental barriers and get into character, but each failed attempt increased his frustration and fed his anxiety.

Guilt washed over Ohm seeing the tortured look on friend’s face. He would have never taken this role if Ohm hadn’t asked.

He tried to make Nanon as comfortable as he could, giving him space and tips on how to angle his body, but he realized that until Nanon calmed down and embraced Pran, there was nothing he could do to help.

P’Aof called off the practice early and told Ohm to talk to Nanon. Ohm looked over at Nanon and saw him quickly turn away. All Ohm wanted to do at that moment was go to Nanon and give him a hug.

Ohm told the production staff that he and Nanon would stay a little longer and he would lock up after. When everyone left, he walked over to Nanon who was still standing in a daze, eyes downcast. He didn’t even notice that the room had emptied and it was just them there.

It hurt to see his friend so lost. This was not how it was supposed to be.

Ohm laid his hands on Nanon’s tense shoulders and gently squeezed them. Nanon finally looked at him, his eyes shiny with unshed tears.

“Can we hug?” Ohm asked and smiled, pouring all of the love and affection he felt for Nanon into it. He saw Nanon’s face change to shock, then relief and then something undefinable. Nanon leaned in and rested his head on Ohm’s shoulder. Ohm put his arms around Nanon and squeezed tightly. At that moment he knew with absolute certainty, that they would get through this together.

When Ohm finally let go of Nanon, of all the possible things Nanon could say, Ohm was not expecting — we need to kiss now. Shock rippled through him and he stared at Nanon, slack jawed. “What?” He asked, like a fool.

“KISS NOW” Nanon repeated,” slapping the back of Ohm’s neck.

That slap stung and snapped Ohm out of his brain freeze.

When Nanon explained why he wanted them to kiss, Ohm realized this was actually a brilliant idea. If they got comfortable kissing each other, then there was nothing else they couldn’t handle.

Ohm had kissed many boys in his life. Most of them in his professional career, and one outside of it because he was willing to try everything once. He knew he was a good kisser but he felt oddly nervous about kissing Nanon.

He looked at his friend who was laughing for the first time that day and the sound of it burrowed deep into Ohm’s heart, claiming it. He looked at Nanon’s dimpled cheeks and smiling eyes and had a sudden realization that Nanon was really, really cute and he really, really wanted to kiss him.

Ohm stepped closer and Nanon immediately stopped laughing. Ohm wanted to tease him about it, instead, he took a deep breath and inhaled Nanon’s scent. Ohm could understand why Pat was so obsessed with smelling Pran. It was intoxicating.

“I am going to hold you now,” Ohm told Nanon, his voice low and heavy.

When Nanon nodded his permission, Ohm pulled him close in a rough, possessive move and Nanon’s breath hitched, his back arching automatically. Ohm’s hand tightened in response, desire surging through him. He tried to slow things down, let Nanon get comfortable with his body, his touch, but it was difficult when Nanon’s hands were exploring his chest, fingers digging into his muscles and he was looking at Ohm with this stunned look in his eyes, as if he was just figuring out something.

Nanon’s brain was probably working in overdrive, trying to slot everything in its place like he did with his rubik's cube Ohm thought and felt a wave of fondness calming him.

“You’re thinking too much,” he said, then bent his head and placed his lips on Nanon’s lips with the gentlest touch. He stayed like that, locking them in a chaste kiss, letting Nanon decide where he wanted to take this.

Whatever Nanon wanted, Ohm was willing to give.
