The video shows a man wearing a loose tank top. He has a considerably bulky frame, and wears a blue beanie with ‘Blüdhaven Gymnastics’ emblazoned across the front, blond curls peeking out under the brim. A text bubble pops up on his chest like a name tag, saying ‘Matt’.
Matt is grinning wildly as he directs the camera around to show the delivery van unloading large boxes. A voiceover starts as people come out of the gym to help the delivery people get the boxes inside.
“So one of our team is a trained aerialist, and we don’t have any of the equipment he’s specialised in, just the usual stuff you’ve seen in our other videos. For months he has been going all the way home whenever he wanted to train properly, but his birthday is coming up so we thought we would fix that!”
The shot switches to inside the gym, where people are working together to set up a set of silks and a couple of aerial hoops.
“He’s been wanting to teach classes on this stuff, too, so we coordinated with his family to figure out what we would need, and we booked him a day off and got his fiancé to distract him so he didn’t come in.”
The shot switches again as they’re setting up a trapeze. The voiceover ends, but Matt is instead talking in the clip over the sounds of people talking and shouting as they work together.
“Now this is the star of the show! He’s good with the other stuff, but trapeze is like his whole thing, so I think we’re all most excited for him to see this.” He laughs, a little nervous, and smiles at the camera again. “Follow and stay tuned for his reaction tomorrow!”

Matt starts the video, sitting in what looks to be a break room of sorts - there’s a couple of tables and a counter with a sink, microwave and coffee machine behind him. A comment is up in the top left corner of the screen, saying ‘how did you guys even afford all this stuff?’
“So, there were a couple of questions which I think need answering, starting with this one. Basically, the guy who we’re doing this for - Dick - comes from, like, a super rich family. He’s definitely come in a clutch a couple of times over the last year when things were tough by getting us on one of his family’s foundations and such, but we don’t really like just making him pay for anything we need. But, after all he’s done, we definitely felt he deserved a big thank you for his birthday, so we called his fiancé, who put us in contact with Dick’s sister, who got us a meeting with their dad, and from there it was pretty easy to get sorted.
“Also yes, you are all right about Dick being a workaholic - he’s only meant to be here four or five times a week, which is already more than a lot of the staff here, and he teaches classes as well as doing some personal training, and then on his days off he comes here anyway to train. For, like, hours . Puts the rest of us to shame, honestly.”
After this he takes a moment to check a piece of paper on the table beside him.
“Uhh… oh yeah! So most of Dick’s family lives in Gotham, and he goes back anyway every couple of weeks to hang out with them, but he has been going back every week when possible since he started here to use their home gym, which has a trapeze and silks for him to practise with. Like I said, super rich family. It was getting a bit much, because he also does a bunch of volunteer work, and sometimes he was having to neglect training for weeks because things were too hectic here in Blüd. So we’re hoping this makes things a bit easier for him.
“Anyway, I think that should answer most of your questions! Remember to come back tomorrow to see the big reveal!”

The next video starts with a shot from the first, when they were setting up the silks and aerial hoops, with a new voiceover over it, this time a woman’s voice.
“So, to recap, we spent all of yesterday setting up aerialist equipment to surprise one of our team for his birthday, which is today. As an extra surprise we didn’t mention, his family are also coming here from Gotham, but he thinks he won’t be seeing them until this weekend.”
The next clip is a slightly blurry shot through a window of two men getting out of a car. Two text bubbles pop up, one saying ‘birthday boy’ with an arrow pointing at the man with dark hair, wearing gym clothes, and another saying ‘the fiancé’, pointing at the man with ginger hair next to him.
Dick walks in the door with his fiancé to a loud chorus of ‘happy birthday’ from the staff. He grins brightly, thanking them as Matt walks forward to meet him with a quick hug. The person holding the camera hangs back a bit, but the conversation can still be clearly heard.
“So. We have a surprise for you.”
Dick’s face immediately softens into a grateful, fond expression. “Oh you didn’t have to do anything, guys! You know I’m just happy to spend the day with you.”
The woman speaks up from behind the camera at this. “Yeah, well, we felt like celebrating a bit more than that, and this is as much for us as you.”
Dick looks curious at that, shooting a look at his fiancé, who just mimes zipping up his lips.
“Okay, okay, let’s see what’s going on then.”
The camera follows Dick and Matt through the building until they get to the larger, open gym hall. Matt turns to Dick before opening the door.
“Close your eyes, Wally can lead you in.”
Dick rolls his eyes affectionately and does as he asks, reaching out to grab his fiancés arm. They carefully lead him into the room, so he’s facing the silks and aerial hoops, with the trapeze behind him.
“Okay, open!”
Dick’s face immediately brightens with an ecstatic gasp as he sees what’s in front of him - the silks are a rich blue colour, matching the gym’s branding, and there are 3 aerial hoops in a vivid purple. He jumps once on the spot, like he can’t quite decide what to do with himself, before launching himself at Matt, who catches him with a laugh.
“Oh my god, thank you so much! Holy shit!” He hugs Matt again before rushing to the silks, running them through his hands then wrapping them around his wrist and tugging, testing their strength. He smiles brightly the whole time.
“Okay, okay,” Matt says, “I am very happy you’re happy, but this isn’t it.”
The camera moves around Dick so that the trapeze is visible in the background as Dick looks at Matt, confused. He glances at the camera, and then turns to face the trapeze.
There’s a moment where he just goes completely still and quiet, before turning back to Matt and tugging him into yet another hug.
“You guys are the best.”

This video looks to be a continuation of the last, if a bit later on. A comment is in the top corner saying ‘oh this is so sweet! did you get his reaction to his family being there?’
The clip shows Dick going around hugging everyone in turn while a voiceover runs, with the same female voice as the last video.
“We actually did! I had to go back and ask them all if they minded about the video but they gave us the go ahead, so here you go.”
The clip goes shaky as Dick reaches the person behind the camera, settling at a new angle for a brief moment, showing a small group of people being ushered in by Matt and Wally. The clip goes shaky again as Dick steps back, and the woman speaks.
“Hey, look behind you.”
Dick swivels, and then lets out a yell as he runs across the gym over to his family. The camera follows at a slower pace as he draws his family into hugs. The voiceover starts back up as they talk, everyone smiling and laughing.
“As you can see, the whole thing was a huge success! They hung around for a bit but eventually headed out for a bit so Dick got some time to test out the new equipment before he had to run some classes.”
There’s then a clip of Dick dropping suddenly down the silks, landing safely about a foot off the ground.
“It all definitely got his seal of approval, so come check it all out and keep an eye out for when we open up classes!”
The video finishes with a shot of Dick swinging from the trapeze, releasing one bar and flipping impossibly before catching himself on the other.
