Work Text:

+44 0121 496 0693: Hi!

+44 0121 496 0693: Sorry it took me so long to text

+44 0121 496 0693: Hadn’t sorted my top up out in ages.

Me: Sorry, who is this?

+44 0121 496 0693: Oh yeah sorry!

+44 0121 496 0693: We met at the SU last night?

Contact saved: Cute SU Girl

Me: Oh yeah, right. Sorry, late night, must not be fully with it yet.

Cute SU Girl: Good one though

Cute SU Girl: Better music than they normally have

Me: I guess?
Me: Not my thing, really.

Me: I enjoyed talking to you, though.

Cute SU Girl: Yeah?

Me: Yeah.

Cute SU Girl: I enjoyed talking to you too

Cute SU Girl: I’m Bill by the way

Cute SU Girl: Pretty sure I said that last night but you know

Cute SU Girl: Alcohol

Contact name Changed: Bill

Me: Heather.

Bill: I’ve seen you round a fair bit before

Bill: You go to the Doctor’s lectures sometimes right?

Me: Sometimes, yeah.

Me: He’s interesting.

Bill: He’s a bit mental

Bill: Are you going to the solar energy one tomorrow?

Me: I wasn’t planning on it?

Bill: Oh right

Bill: I mean I was just gonna ask if you wanted to sit together or something

Bill: But if you’re not going

Bill is typing…

Me: You said it was about solar energy?

Bill: I mean that’s what he says now but it could be anything by the time he starts talking.

Me: I mean it could be interesting.

Me: I’ll be there if you’re going to be?

Bill: See you there

Bill: So how’s the engineering department at the minute?

Me: Boring.

Me: Some days I can’t wait to be out of here.

Bill: Wanna to ditch all the theory stuff?

Me: I’d be happy to ditch all of it.

Me: Never been very good at staying still.

Me: Probably drives people up the wall.

Bill: I think it’s exciting

Me: Seriously?

Bill: Seriously! Spontaneous people are way more fun

Me: Do you want to spontaneously grab a coffee with me, then?

Bill: As long as it’s not that rubbish place with the book wallpaper

Me: What’s rubbish about it?

Bill: They only have fruit muffins

Me: Point taken.

Me: How about the little one in chancellors?

Bill: I’ll meet you there

Bill: Trying to write an essay

Bill: It’s due in 12 hours

Bill: Please distract me

Me: Why did you leave it this late?

Bill: Forgot about it

Me: What’s the topic?

Me: You never actually told me what you’re studying.

Bill: It’s complicated

Me: The essay?

Bill: Oh no

Bill: That’s about the history of the printing press

Me: So you’re a history student?

Me: Or journalism or something?

Bill: Yep

Me: Are you being cryptic?

Bill: Depends

Bill: Do you like cryptic?

Me: I’m starting to.

Bill: So what was with that whole puddle thing earlier?

Bill: Was it just like a joke or what?

Bill: I think I get it now

Bill: The reflection is off isn’t it? It’s backwards

Bill: The Doctor came and looked at it but he’s being weird about it

Bill: Are you alright? I haven’t heard from you all day

Bill: That reflection thing is really freaking me out

Bill: I’m gonna go back to the Doctor tomorrow

Bill: I think he knows more about it than he says he does

Bill: I’m sorry about what happened to you

Bill: I mean

Bill: Is that bad to say? You’re alright right?

Bill: I think you’re alright

Bill: Did you take your phone with you when you went?

Bill: Probably not, right?

Bill: I’ll miss talking to you

Bill: The Doctor is going to keep showing me this space stuff, I think

Bill: Maybe I’ll run into you.

Bill: I’m in the future right now

Bill: I’m in the future and I’m texting you

Bill: There’s emoji robots

Bill: Bet you’d like them

Bill: I wonder if you could make them do the star eyes emoji

Bill: The Doctor did something to my phone so it works still? It’s awesome

Bill: Maybe if we run into you again he could do the same thing for yours?

Bill: It’d be nice to talk to you properly again

Bill: The future’s a bit scary

Bill: I mean proper wicked

Bill: I met emoji robots and I got to go in a spaceship

Bill: But scary too

Bill: The earth was gone

Bill: There were still people on other planets but I saw videos of it

Bill: All wars and disaster and stuff

Bill: Lots of people died

Bill: I think we helped in the end? Got them safe

Bill: Sorry

Bill: I’m going on aren’t I? Not that you can see this

Bill: Just not sure I can tell the Doctor? If I scare first time out he might not let me come again

Bill: And anyone else would think I was mad

Bill: Not you though

Bill: Have you seen anything scary out there yet?

Bill: I hope not

Bill: Met a giant fish today

Bill: Which isn’t something I thought I’d type

Bill: And I got to see a tutor punch someone

Bill: And help some people

Bill: I was properly in the past

Bill: Haven’t really gotten over that yet

Bill: Can you do that? Jump through time?

Bill: I hope you’re alright, wherever you are

Bill: I’m moving out

Bill: Pretty cool that

Bill: Like I know I’ve been a student all year but getting a houseshare with mates feels like proper studenty

Bill: Been all over town looking

Bill: Everywhere’s been a bit crap so far but I’m being positive about it? We’ve gotta find something

Bill: Saw a missing person poster for you earlier

Bill: Police haven’t been doing much

Bill: I think they think you ran away?

Bill: Guess you did really

Bill: Where are you now?

Bill: Bet it beats halls wherever it is

Bill: Got a great house

Bill: Cheap too

Bill: It’s a bit goth and the landlord’s creepy but it’s amazing compared to all the other places

Bill: I get a bit of a bad vibe off it?

Bill: The Doctor’s helping me move in

Bill: Bet he’ll be able to tell if it’s full of space mould or something

Bill: Oh! If you see any posh blokes in big collars say hi

Bill: I hear they’re cool.

Bill: So, not space mould

Bill: Space termites

Bill: Man eating space termites

Bill: The Doctor fixed it

Bill: The house is gone though

Bill: Am I just really unlucky? Or do you reckon he attracts this stuff

Bill: It was kinda cool though I guess

Bill: Even if we are back looking at rentals

Bill: If we ever find one I’ll give you the address

Bill: You could come round some time

Bill: I’m pretty sure I just almost died

Bill: We were on a space station and there were zombies

Bill: We had to go out into space and I didn’t have a helmet

Bill: Bit scary really

Bill: Well really scary

Bill: The Doctor saved me

Bill: Gave me his helmet

Bill: He’s alive

Bill: Something to do with his species

Bill: He went blind from it

Bill: He keeps saying he’s going to heal and it’ll be okay

Bill: I don’t know what I’m meant to say to him

Bill: He keeps saving me? And he got really hurt trying to do it

Bill: What am I meant to do after that?

Bill: Nardole’s helping

Bill: He’s a mate of the Doctor’s so he knows all this stuff

Bill: He’s nice

Bill: Bit mental

Bill: Bet you’d like him

Bill: Wish you were here

Bill: The Doctor’s being really weird with me

Bill: I mean he’s weird anyway?

Bill: But weirder than usual

Bill: Him and his mate have got a monster or something locked up under the school

Bill: Maybe it’s to do with that?

Bill: I wish he’d tell me stuff

Bill: The secretary general of the UN just broke into my flat

Bill: Somehow not even the most mental thing that’s happened today

Bill: He’s still blind

Bill: He’s still blind and it’s my fault

Bill: Everything’s wrong

Bill: But I don’t think I can say anything without getting arrested

Bill: I don’t even know why I’m still texting you

Bill: So

Bill: Hey

Bill: It’s probably been ages hasn’t it?

Bill: How long has it been?

Bill: Not sure why I’m waiting for you to answer

Bill: Long enough that you’re phone’s probably disconnected now isn’t it?

Bill: If it’s not water damaged

Bill: My head doesn’t feel right

Bill: Reading through all these old texts

Bill: Doesn’t make sense if the monks are right

Bill: I think something’s wrong

Bill: A lot happened

Bill: I got to do some spy stuff with Nardole

Bill: Fighting dictators

Bill: Even met the monster in the vault

Bill: She’s mental

Bill: Bit like how the Doctor is but with the supervillain vibes turned up

Bill: I did something a bit stupid

Bill: Got a lot of people hurt

Bill: And I’m about to do something else really stupid now

Bill: It might fix things

Bill: I think it’s gonna kill me

Bill: I just wanted to say if you’re still reading this

Bill: I’m so glad I met you

Bill: My whole world’s gone mental since

Bill: But you’re brilliant

Bill: I really wish I’d got to see you again

Bill: I hope you’re happy.

Bill: It actually worked

Bill: The monks are gone

Bill: And I’m not dead

Bill: Somehow

Bill: Everyone just sort of forgot them

Bill: It’s like they were never here now

Bill: I haven’t seen any posters for you in a while

Bill: I keep thinking that one day I might just not come back

Bill: And everyone will forget me too

Bill: Victorian soldiers on Mars

Bill: Don’t really know what to say to that one

Bill: And the mad victorian lady in the basement got us out of there?

Bill: I think she actually cares about him

Bill: I still don’t trust her

Bill: The Doctor said he’s trying to make her a good person but she proper scares me

Bill: Met some nice Roman soldiers

Bill: Had to wait with them a few days

Bill: Seems like stuff like that keeps happening

Bill: It’s alright though

Bill: The Doctor always finds me again in the end

Bill: One of them fancied me

Bill: The Roman’s I mean

Bill: That was weird

Bill: He was a good bloke though

Bill: Saved the world

Bill: So Scary Poppins is allowed in the TARDIS now

Bill: She’s the Doctor’s mate so I’m gonna try

Bill: But if I turn up dead we know why

Bill: I feel like I always just talk about what I’m doing

Bill: I do think about you though

Bill: Have you seen the stars you showed me yet?

Bill: The Doctor’s talked me into playing companion for his scary mate

Bill: Not sure why I agreed

Bill: There’s no way this is gonna go well

Bill: So I didn’t know if this was working before

Bill: I’m even less sure now

Bill: I got shot.

Bill: I’m I the hospital

Bill: The Doctor’s coming for me I’ve just got to wait

Bill: Made a friend

Bill: He’s a bit weird but he’s looking after me

Bill: Got me a job cleaning up in here

Bill: And he’s helping keep my phone working

Bill: Not sure if messages send from here but it’s worth a try

Bill: It’s a bit creepy this place.

Bill: Silent Hill vibes

Bill: I think

Bill: Never actually played it

Bill: Have you seen all the stars yet?

Bill: I can’t see any from here

Bill: The hardware on this phone is starting to break down now

Bill: Not sure how long I’m gonna to be able to keep texting

Bill: I miss you

Bill: I mean I’m stuck in a scary hospital near a black hole so I sort of miss everything

Bill: Miss serving chips

Bill: Miss the Doctor

Bill: But I always miss you

Bill: I really liked you.

Bill: Maybe a bit more than just liking you

Bill: Times like this I wish I’d come along.

Notes:

So, I got entirely too in my own head about day nine, and didn't want to post out of sequence, with the result that I'm now several days behind. I'll be playing catch up over the next few days to try and get back on track, but day nine might not come out for a little while.
