Work Text:
It was 12:17 P.M, which means Lena, and the rest of the journalists who had articles to finish were still there.
In truth, Lena didn’t mind staying at Catco late, but what she did mind was her employees’ downing cups and cups of coffee, leaving none, not even a drop, left.
She hadn’t caught anyone yet before, but her inkling is telling her someone, or someone(s), had already done so.
And those individuals are Kara Danvers and Nia Nal.
—
Ten minutes later, Lena walks in on Kara and Nia arguing over the last cup of coffee. It was a long night, after all.
“I’ve been here the longest!” Kara insisted, her head hung low. It was the truth; she has been at Catco from 9:15 in the morning to 12:27 at night.
“What does that have to do with me?” Nia whines. “The fact remains – I was here first!”
“You took my coffee!”
“I didn’t take it, Kara! Some guy gave it to me, said that you didn’t want it.”
“That is such an l—”
“Ms. Danvers, Ms. Nal.” Lena raises her hand to quiet the two women. Both of them snap their mouths shut, and turns to face her. Although Kara and Nia were facing Lena, they were still looking at each other, glaring holes through each other’s souls.
It was only fair for Lena to snatch the coffee out from under them.
“My coffee—!”
“Lena, no!”
