Work Text:
Viktor was stooped low over his work, leaning on his cane despite the chair sitting directly behind him. I sat barely more than a few feet away, my task of reviewing paperwork all but abandoned.
“Screwdriver,” Viktor muttered, holding his hand out to the side.
Despite not being within the reaching distance of either him or the screwdriver, I got up and retrieved the item from where it lay on the small side table at the far end of the room and brought it over to him.
Viktor hummed in acknowledgment and went back to tinkering with whatever device was in front of him. I went back to my paperwork, halfheartedly attempting to focus on the legal jargon instead of the way my boyfriend’s hair was falling into his eyes. As anyone could probably guess, I failed.
“What time is it?”
He either ignored me or was too absorbed in the machinery to hear me. Hopefully the latter.
“What time is it?” I repeated the question.
“We have a clock,” he gestured vaguely in the direction of the clock without so much as glancing upwards.
“But you see,” I explained. “It’s so much easier to just ask my incredibly attractive partner who’s currently ignoring me, hopefully getting him to pay attention to me.”
I stood up, walking over to where he was standing and wrapping my arms around his waist.
“You’re distracting me.”
“That was the goal.”
“I have to finish this.”
“Do it in the morning.”
“You’re insufferable in the mornings.”
“I’m always insufferable, it’s one of my better traits.”
Instead of continuing the argument I carefully pried the screwdriver out of Viktor’s hand, letting it clatter to the floor.
I then dragged him over to the futon in the corner, not letting go of his waist, he muttered his annoyance but allowed me to guide him away from his work nonetheless.
I flopped down onto the mattress, pulling him down with me and crossing my arms over his chest to prevent him from getting up.
“You can let go now.” He remarked dryly, rolling over so that his face was planted firmly against my chest.
I didn’t, but I did loosen my hold enough for him to pull his shirt off and throw it partially across the room before throwing his leg over me and I wrapped the comforter around us for warmth.
His, not mine, I would undoubtedly be overheating soon, but it was the price I paid for having a boyfriend who both ran cold and refused to sleep with a proper amount of clothing.
“Do we have an appointment tomorrow?” Viktor muttered, raising his head momentarily.
“Not that I’ve been informed of.”
He muttered something I couldn’t hear and snuggled back under the blanket. Before I knew it the room faded away and sleep overtook me.

The workshop was typically quiet in the mornings, but that wasn’t the case today. Today the peace was disturbed at an ungodly hour of the morning by Vi barging through their apartment door.
“Good morning, Piltover!” she called, immediately rousing the occupants of the room.
Caitlyn followed her, albeit slightly more politely. I loved Cait like a sister, but it would be wonderful if she could have told her girlfriend to come barging into our apartment until afternoon. Not at all would be preferable but I knew that was out of the question.
“Fuck you.” I rolled off the futon and stood up, Viktor lunging across the room to grab his shirt.
“Actually, I have a girlfriend, but I’ll keep your offer in mind.” Vi batted her eyelashes and Caitlyn rolled her eyes.
“I thought you said we didn’t have any appointments today?” Viktor managed to pull his shirt over his head and still remain slightly composed.
“No, I said we had no appointments that I was informed of.” I corrected him, “why are you people even here?”
“I need the Atlas Gauntlets fixed.”
“And you couldn’t have asked Jinx to fix them?”
“Well I could have but that wouldn’t have given me the opportunity to rub in the fact that you’re no longer legally able to confiscate your inventions from me.”
“Would anyone like something to drink?” Viktor interjected, attempting to break up the inevitable fistfight before it happened.
“Tea would be great if you have any.” Caitlyn smiled, sitting down in one of the chairs scattered across the room.
“And before Vi can lie to you, she wants whatever has the most sugar.”
Vi pouted but nodded her head in confirmation.
“I’ll take coffee.” I sighed, this was going to be a long morning, both literally and emotionally.
Vi sat down on a chair next to Caitlyn’s, flipping it around so that she could rest her chin on the back. I plopped back down onto the futon and we all just sat there for a few uncomfortable minutes before Viktor returned with our drinks of choice.
“Oh thank god.”
Vi snatched the coffee out of Viktors hands and began gulping down the scorching liquid so fast that it was almost painful to watch. Did that girl even have pain receptors?
I accepted mine as well but drank it at a far more politically correct pace. Caitlyn took her tea and thanked Viktor.
“Both of you could stand to learn some manners from her.” Viktor laughed, sitting down beside me.
“Oh, I have plenty of manners if you ask nicely.” She winked at Cait and the enforcer turned scarlet.
“Hand me the gauntlets and get out of my house.” I groaned, burying my head in my hands.
Vi picked them up off of the floor where she had set them and handed one to me.
“Why is it wet?” I flipped it over trying to find the source of the liquid.
“That's what she said.” Vi handed me the other one and I put them onto the work table.
“Bitch.”
“Bastard,” Vi rolled her eyes. “It started leaking oil everywhere yesterday.”
She got up and started heading out and Caitlyn followed her, thanking Viktor yet again for the drinks.
“I’ll bring them over to your house once they’re fixed so that we can make sure they work. Until then, please for the love of everything good in the world, schedule your visits.”
“Thanks, Jayce.” She gave a two-finger salute as she backed out of the apartment, shutting the door behind her.
I lay back on the futon, grabbing Viktor’s waist and allowing him to set down his tea before pulling his back onto the mattress and closing my eyes.
“What about fixing the gauntlets?” He teased.
“I’ll do that tomorrow, for now, I have zero plans to leave this bed until lunchtime.”
