Work Text:

"Really Robin," Nancy sighed, taking Robin's freckled hands into her own to inspect a slender cut that was gleaming crimson.

"How'd it happen?"

"I was opening the condensed milk and I shredded myself on the tin," Robin mumbled, her hair falling in her face.

Nancy turned attention to the shelves in search of a first aid kit. "I'll have to disinfect it. God- why is this storeroom so messy? How are you supposed to find anything?"

"Nance- I can't be back here any longer. It's a Saturday I can't leave Steve by himself serving-"

"I'm not letting you go and serve with that," Nancy interjected, turning her face to face Robin with a stern look. "It could get infected. Steve will have to wait." She said, finally locating the first aid kit and swivelling around to face Robin.

Gently, she took Robin's hands in her own, they were surprisingly soft and slender.

"This'll sting."

"Fuck." Robin hissed as soon as the disinfectant made contact with the spewing cut.

"I know, I know," Nancy mumbled.

Bandaging it slowly, Robin was oddly silent, making no protests about the sting. Chancing a glance upwards Nancy saw tears brimming in Robin's blue eyes, that she was desperately blinking back.

A quirk of her mouth. She sighed, sliding her warm hand onto Robin's slight face, the latter jumping slightly. Turning her gaze to meet Nancy's.

The two became aware of how close their heads were, how small the storeroom was. And how pretty they had seemingly just become to one another.

In some spasm of a heartbeat, Nancy leaned in and clumsily pressed her mouth to Robin's.
She stammered then ultimately brought her hands up to entangle them in Nancy's hair.

They broke away, gasping against each other's lips. Robin watched as an impish grin spread across Nancy's features.

Steve could wait.
