Work Text:

Peter hated English.

Honestly, he thought it was a waste of time. Who needed to know how to write three essays in the frame of one hour? What was the point? His leg was bouncing under the table while he tapped his pencil against his desk to the same beat. He tuned out his teacher, deciding to focus on surrounding sounds instead.

He heard the whir of the air conditioning, Ned’s breathing, music playing through someone’s hidden headphones, the scratch of pencils, and tiny footsteps. Very familiar tiny footsteps that were approaching very quickly. When the door slammed open, his head was the first to turn.

There, in her 3 foot 6 inch glory, was Morgan H. Stark.

She was sweating profusely, clearly having run all the way here. There were also tears streaming down her face. She looked around the classroom, eyes wide and dilated. When she saw Peter her eyes softened and she ran to him, throwing her arms around his neck.

“What’s wrong, Mo?” Peter asked, hoisting her up into his lap. Morgan cuddled in closer and mumbled something into his neck.

“What was that, momo?”

“Th-there was a-a bad guy,” she sobbed. Peter’s eyes sharpened, face turning dark.

“Where was the bad guy?”

“H-he, he was a-at m-my sch-school.”

“Momo, I need you to tell me what happened. I know it’s scary but I need you to be brave for me so that we can figure out if you’re still in danger,” Peter said.

“W-well, I w-was at r-recess and th-there was a-a scary m-man,” Morgan started, her tears coming to a stop. “He told me th-that he was Daddy’s f-friend but I kn-know Daddy only has three friends that a-aren’t the ‘vengers.”

Peter chuckled lightly at that statement. Of course Tony’s introverted tendencies would be part of why Morgan knew not to trust whoever this man was. He could see his classmates sending each other confused glances but ignored them to listen to the rest of Morgan’s story.

“So I-I told him that I know all Daddy’s friends and I didn’t know him but he said he was a secret agent and I had to come with him. Then he grabbed my arm and he was pulling me away to his car. A-and remember how we made matching watches with Daddy and you gave me a special upgrade when Daddy wasn’t looking?”

“Yeah, I remember. The one to hurt the bad guys.”

“Yeah, that one. Well he had my watch arm but my other arm was free so I pushed the button and it sent out the taser webs and shocked him and I ran here ‘cause he doesn’t know you’re my brother so he won’t look for me here.”

“Good job, Mo. You did the right thing coming here,” Peter smiled. The smile didn’t last long, though. He could hear heavy footsteps in the hall and knew who they must belong to.

“Petey? What’s wrong?” Morgan asked. She must’ve noticed the distressed look that had overtaken his face.

“Alright, guys,” Peter turned to his class. “What you’re about to see can never leave this room. Both my safety, and the safety of my family depends on it.”

“Peter, what’s going on?” Ned asked.

“The man, he followed Morgan here and he’s armed. He won’t bother any of you if she’s not here so I need to get her out. I can take her out the window but you guys need to continue class like normal or else he’ll get suspicious. As soon as we’re clear I’ll call Tony and send him to catch the guy, but Mo and I need to leave right now.”

“Flash, Abe, you guys open the window and make sure it closes behind them. Peter, pack up your stuff. Betty, come sit up next to Ned so he doesn’t realize someone’s missing, and Mrs. Winterhalter, we need you to continue teaching.” MJ took command of the class easily, getting Peter and Morgan out the window well before the man reached their classroom.

With Morgan stuck to his front side, arms wrapped around his neck, Peter was unable to maneuver as easily as usual, but she was small enough to not be too large of a hindrance. He lowered them down from the third story window into the courtyard before scaling the fence. Normally, he would have jumped over it, but he didn’t want to risk falling with Morgan.

Racing across the street, they made their escape to the subway, taking it all the way to Manhattan. As soon as they were above ground, Peter called Tony.

“Hey, kid? What’s up?” Tony asked, calm as a cucumber.

“Heyyyy, Tony,” Peter grimaced. “I’m gonna need you to go take care of an armed gunman at my school. He was after Morgan, but she escaped and found me. He followed her though, so I got her out and we’re almost to the tower but I’d rather not have him hurt any of my friends.”

“Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down bud. Did you just say that there’s an armed shooter at your school? And that he’s after Morgan?”

“Yep. Anyways, we’re outside of the tower so we’ll be up in about two or three minutes.”

“Alright, well I’m gonna go take care of the shooter. Why don’t you get Fri to order a couple pizzas and we’ll have a movie night to help ease some of that trauma you’ve both picked up from today?”

“That sounds great, Tony. Thanks.” Peter smiled.

“Of course, Pete. Anything for the two best kiddos in the whole wide world.”

“Alright, well Mo is out like a light so I’m gonna go get her ready for bed and maybe we’ll build a blanket fort or something.”

“Sounds good, bud. I’ll see you soon.”

“Okay! Love you, bye!” Peter exclaimed

“Love you too, kid,” Tony smiled. “Fri, end call.”

“Of course, boss. Call ended.”

Notes:

Thank you so much to @Stree for giving the suggestion to have Morgan reveal his identity by going to his school. While this is a bit different then the others, I think it makes a bit more sense that Peter would willingly reveal his identity to his class in order to protect both them and Morgan. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed and I love to hear your comments and if you have any suggestions for other reveals please comment them! My sad college brain can only come up with so many lol.
