Summary
Baz blinks at the blob of his reflection in the steamed mirror, and has a series of thoughts almost all at once.
The first—Simon has a sword again, and it feels like some sort of balance has been returned to the world.
The second—Simon has a sword again, which means he's practicing his sword forms again, and Baz is suddenly, vividly remembering when he'd do that in their dorm room, swinging the Mage's sword around with an unexpected grace, working through forms with fluid ease until his curls stuck to his forehead and Baz could taste the salt of his sweat in the air. He was dreadfully skillful with the sword, and Baz had years to work on quite a number of fantasies about all of that.
The third—Simon has a sword again, and he's practicing his sword forms again—and he's just in the next room, beyond a door that's not even closed, and, honestly, what is Baz even still doing standing here, when a very competently sword-wielding, potentially sweaty Simon is just on the other side.
