Gil LeGume's Application

Summary:

Celia, Dizzy, Squeaky, and Squirmy weren't the only VKs to send applications to Auradon. The following is a copy of the application of Gil LeGume, youngest son of Gaston LeGume.

Work Text:

Name: Gil LeGume

Known Aliases: None, I don't think. Well, my official title is "second mate of the Lost Revenge." Does that count?

Nicknames or Other: I don't have nicknames either. Everyone just calls me Gil. Well, Gil is short for Gilbert, but no one ever calls me that except sometimes my maman. Does that count?

Date of Birth or Best Guess: In the winter, three years after my brothers.

Place of Birth: My house.

Favorite Color: Yellow.

Favorite Activity: Doing pirate stuff with Harry and Uma. Also graffiting grafting graffitiing the Lost Revenge's motto over Mal's Long Live Evil signs and her dragon drawings. Wait, I don't think I was supposed to write that.

Favorite School Subject: P.E., Tall Tales and the Tellers Who Tell Them, Underwater Science, Unnatural Biology, and any extracurricular stuff where I get to carry things and move furniture around.

Father's Name (or alias): Gaston LeGume.

Mother's Name (or alias): Laurette LeGume.

Father's Profession: He's the gym teacher at school. Also he owns a weapons shop. Sometimes he brings swords for us to try them out. So far I've nearly been stabbed only four times. He also hunts animals and trades them for new weapons to sell.

Mother's Profession: Well, she doesn't have a job. That's what profession means, right? My father says that all women need to be are good housewives, and they should leave the business to the men. But she is a good housewife-she cooks all the food and goes shopping for things we need and cleans everything and does the laundry. So she is very busy but she does it all really well. I think that should count as a profession too.

Who is your favorite of the first wave of VKs? There is no wrong answer.

Uma. She's the captain of my crew.

Harry said he did Uma too. I think the whole crew did, but especially Harry. He and Uma are going to get married one day. They think nobody knows this but everybody does.

Wait, did you mean from the first four kids to go to Auradon? Mal, Evie, Carlos, and Jay? None of them are my favorite. I mean, I don't hate them. Even though they ruined Uma's plan to bring down the barrier. But I don't know any of them so well either. I'm in Uma's crew and Mal's her enemy so we don't really talk to each other. So I'm still doing Uma.

In your own words, tell us why you want to come to Auradon. There is no wrong answer.

Well, all of us want to go to Auradon. Or to get off the Isle, at least.

I heard there's real bright sunshine there, not just the little bits we get through the barrier.

And the water there is hardly even dirty, so I can teach all the youngest crew members to swim without worrying about getting sick.

And also that I can eat as much food as I want there, because there'll be enough for everyone!

And I can send some back to my maman! And buy her new jewelry and clothes and things, and send her that too!

And also if I'm in Auradon my brothers can't bother me. And if they're in Auradon too, then I can go somewhere else, because Auradon is way bigger than the Isle.

And also we can sail the open sea for real!

And also Uma's there. She can tell me what to do. I'm good at being told what to do. And she can figure out a way to get the rest of the crew off the Isle. And then she and Harry can get married. Uma's the captain, and Harry's the first mate, so if they get married on the Lost Revenge I can office official officiate their marriage because I'm the second mate.

Desiree and Bonny want to know if I'm mentioning the wand. What wand?
