Chapter Text
In the end, the castle was probably her favorite place. It was more like a mansion filled with rowdy teenagers at this point. The Princess’ art gallery radiated the homey feeling her real home lacked, the sort of nostalgia one might get when visiting their parents in their childhood home. The Toads around the castle always were worth the conversation, whether their stories were embellished or not was anyone’s guess. Scraps of paper littered most available surfaces with drawings on them, empty cups and plates from a meal eaten on the floor, because the table was too small to fit everyone. the omnipresent hum of chaos thrumming through the air that always seemed to find them no matter what. It always left a catastrophe for Peach to clean up, she would always complain about it of course. But despite how unladylike her grandfather considered it to be seen in such an ‘unsightly’ place, Princess Peach found herself comforted by the messy art gallery immeasurably more than the cold unfeeling walls of her castle.
