Chapter Text
Condi didn't exactly know where he was going to start when he said he'd link a couple alternate dimensions to the one they had named the Overworld. It's not like he could say 'just kidding!' though. Condi had assured all his friends that he would make a world beyond anything they could dream of!
Easier said than done.
It's not that he doesn't have the ability or power to, he just doesn't even have a clue of how. It's like having all the pieces but not the instructions to put them together.
"What a pain," he muttered to himself.
Condi leaned back on a tree but instead of his back hitting the sturdy bark he found himself falling backwards. Instinctively, his hands flung out to steady his fall, but the impact never came. In fact, it was hard to tell in this starless void, but Condi didn't think he was even falling anymore.
So where was this then?
Home, a voice whispered, but Condi quickly dismissed it. Sure, his limbs felt more free and his form moved easier, but home was with his friends.
"How an I supposed to get out of here anyway?" he asked the nothingness. "They didn't exactly brief us on how to get out of inter-dimensional absences in space time. How inconvenient, he thought with a flick of his fingers.
As if he'd ignited gunpowder, the space around him lit up with his movements. Stars appeared out of nothing when he blinked and nebulas flowered when he tilted his head. It was a very strange experience
Condi could shape the Overworld, but the matter never moved with him, he always had to force it into the shape he wanted. Having a reality that was so sensitive to his touch was new to him. If this is what it feels like, then he can't blame the others for loving the Overworld as much as they do.
So where did that leave him?
The influence he had here was near intoxicating, but in the end Condi was only one fourth of a whole. Still though, that didn't mean he couldn't play around a little...
With a flick of his wrist the world around him took on a deep shade of scarlet, the texture rough and jagged. He took a more personal touch then, shaping the matter until it resembled the cobblestone of the Overworld. The left overs turned to sand with mixed colors of pale brown and milky white, contorting into anguished faces.
With a single thought blue embers appeared and then sparked into flame, bringing the area to a dimly lit hue. That was great and all, but now Condi could see his fingers were trembling from effort. He took a deep breath and formed a ledge on which he promptly collapsed into a tired heap.
He'd gotten ahead of himself. This wasn't a project that was going to be finished in a day, even with all his godly abilities.
Still though, he couldn't ignore the uplifting feeling of satisfaction. Finally, Condi had somewhere that was his. Sure, the Overworld was gorgeous and Condi enjoyed sharing it with his friends, but it always felt like they had some part in it that he didn't. Falling into the space between dimensions wasn't how he imagined it happening, but fate worked in mysterious ways.
The real question was how he was going to get back...

"Hey do you guys know where Condi is?" Grizzly asked, "I can't find him anywhere."
Charlie snorted. "Have you tried his hell-portal?"
Grizzly stared. "His what?"
Charlie only shrugged. "Apparently Condi can mess with the fabric of space or something like that."
"And we're not questioning that at all?"
"I feel like I can't be surprised by anything anymore," Charlie said with a laugh. "First you raise a floating island and next Bizly is hosting the next furrycon."
"I heard that!" Bizly shouted from the other room.
"Yeah whatever Lion King!" Charlie replied with a playful grin.
Grizzly shook his head. "So where is this so called hell-portal?"
Charlie leaned over the chair he was sitting in to point behind him. "Down the hall and to the left. You can't miss it, it's all purple and swirly."
"Thank you?"
Well at least Charlie was telling the truth. The twists and turns of the strange substance were almost nauseating. And he was supposed to step into that?
"The things I have to deal with," Grizzly muttered.
He'd thought he could take this slow, but clearly the crack in reality had different plans because as soon as his fingertips touched it there was a force pulling him him.
Grizzly grimaced as his vision went black.

Condi was pretty sure he hadn't designed this dimension to spit out his friends fifty feet above the ground. Keyword pretty sure. But in case it really was his fault, he offered Grizzly a helping hand.
"Condifiction. Where in the world are we?!"
Condi offered a sheepish grin. "Well I haven't exactly named it yet. I have a few ideas but-"
"No no no," Grizzly held up his hands, "how did you do this?!"
"Well uh..." Condi paused, "it just kinda happened? You know how Bizly's started growing horns and Charlie keeps making a forest whenever he sits on a patch of grass?"
"What was that about Bizly?"
Condi's face flushed. "Well anyway... Weren't you asking about the Nether?"
Grizzly raised his eyebrow. "Nether?"
Condi gestured to the red wasteland around them. "That's what I was thinking of calling this place. Has a nice ring to it, huh?"
"Yeah. It does," Grizzly hummed in response. "But don't you think it's a bit... barren?"
"Oh just you wait!" Condi exclaimed, his eyes lighting up like a child's. "There's gonna be pig warriors and magma cubes and-"
"Hold up. What's a magma cube?"
Condi summoned a glob of lava. "So imagine it's like this..." he hardened the outer layer to a jagged igneous rock, "with little eyes to see the red hot magma inside!"
Grizzly couldn't deny that the creature looked cute. It resembled the slimes of the Overworld and though they weren't Grizzly's personal favorite, Charlie seemed to have a strange love for them.
"Wow," was all that came out of Grizzly's mouth. "Hard to believe you did all of this, and it's not even finished yet."
Condi elbowed him. "Hey, give me some credit here!"
Grizzly chucked and leaned his head back. "Have you shown Bizly and Charlie yet?"
"Well..." he trailed off. "I was gonna make it a surprise but you've already seen it so-"
"That's a great idea!" Grizzly spouted, interrupting. "Don't let me ruin all your fun. I can keep a secret you know.
Condi laughed. "Pinky promise?"
Grizzly interlaced his smallest finger with Condi's.
"Pinky promise."
