Rosemary, heaven restores you in life

Summary:

Wanda finds out she’s pregnant.

They all feel like a family, but Peter’s still hurt.

Work Text:

Something was definitely up. With Wanda, at least.

Her cravings only got weirder, and she would wake up and throw up each morning. She was also gaining weight. Stephen was concerned by this point. They couldn’t really hide this from Peter, either. So now, even Peter was concerned.

But Stephen, being an old doctor and all, decided that enough was enough and started to read books about Wanda’s symptoms. This led to where he was now.

He cleared his throat as Wanda stared at what he was holding out. She finally took it from his hands. Stephen dropped is arm and watched as Wanda smiled softly.

“Really?”

“You have the symptoms.”

“Well… alright. Okay. Gimme a minute.”

With that, Wanda went into their room and locked herself in there. Stephen let out a loud exhale. All that was left to do was wait.

—————————

“Where’s mom?”

“Busy. Why?”

“She was gonna help me sew some of my stuff!”

Peter said, spinning on one of the chairs. Stephen placed a cup in front of Peter, who stopped spinning and frowned when he saw the liquid inside. He pushed it back to Stephen who was already sipping on his drink.

“I don’t like tea.”

“It’s a special blend. I also mixed it with juice. Taste it.”

Peter frowned and hesitantly took a sip. That sip turned into him chugging down the whole cup. He looked up at Stephen happily. Stephen smiled and brushed his hair back. Peter bounced up and down on his seat.

“Dad! I love it!”

“I’m glad you do, spidey. Now, I think,-“

“STEPHEN!”

“…. I should go check on your mother. I’ll be back.”

Stephen put his cup down, and went up to his room quickly. Wanda was sitting on their bed, arms crossed tightly together. She stared at the floor with a blank expression.

Stephen sat next to her and kissed her head. Wanda always liked it when he kissed her head, she said it comforted her. So Stephen found himself doing it more often.

“Well?”

Stephen asked in a hushed tone, his arm wrapping around Wanda who looked up at him. Her eyes were teary, but they were full of joy. Stephen already knew the answer. His own eyes went wide. Wanda pulled him in for a hug and let out a happy sigh.

Stephen laid against her shoulder, rubbing her back slowly. There were no words spoken between them. Just silence. It was still comforting though.

They held each other close, because that’s all they really needed. They were in love, and had a family.

“MOM! DAD! IM HUNGRY!”

Peter yelled as he ran into their room. They pulled away from each other and Peter jumped in between them, pulling their arms close to himself. Wanda and Stephen both played with his hair for awhile.

“Why are you guys even up here? All quiet and… hugging?”

“Peter, we have news.”

Wanda said softly. Peter looked at them both in a confused way. Wanda smiled and placed a hand on her stomach.

“We’re having a kid.”

Peter’s eyes snapped open. He stared at Wanda, then at Stephen, then back at Wanda.

They were getting rid of him.

They couldn’t, or wouldn’t care about him anymore. They were just gonna focus on their new kid. They didn’t need Peter anymore.

None of the others would take him in, maybe Tony but it would be so awkward now! Especially since he calls Stephen and Wanda his mom and dad. Did he have to stop calling them mom and dad now?

Stephen must’ve noticed how quiet and scared Peter got, because he pulled him in for a hug.

“You’ll still be our son. We’re actually looking into… adopting you.”

“Adopting m-me..?”

Peter asked, his voice cracking slightly. Wanda nodded and leaned against Peter who was looking at the floor.

“We care about you Peter, we want you to legally be our kid.”

“Y-you guys can legally be my p-parents.?”

“We’re going to be your legal parents, Peter.”

Peter pulled them in, mostly as an attempt to hug them both. Tears were starting to make their way down his face. Despite his crying, he looked happy. He was smiling.

“T-thank you… t-thank you guys so m-much…”

“Don’t thank us Peter. We should be thanking you.”

All Peter could do was cry softly and hold his parents close.

———————————

“If it’s a boy?”

“Hmm… I don’t know.”

“If it’s a girl?”

“Still don’t know.”

Wanda said, her hand resting on her growing belly. Stephen placed his hand over hers, his head coming to rest on her shoulder. Their rings pressed together, making a soft voice before it stopped just as suddenly as it began.

“I say we name it… Elizabeth. If it’s a girl.”

“Elizabeth… I like that.”

Wanda mumbled, looking down. Stephen kissed her neck softly, his shaking hands rubbing Wanda’s. His other hand started to play with Wanda’s hair. Wanda leaned into his touch.

“And it’s a boy?”

“I’ll let you decide that, my love.”

“I really don’t know, Stephen..”

“You have time. For now, if it’s a girl… Elizabeth.”

They both smiled.

—————————

“Another date night? Who’s gonna watch me?”

Peter asked, watching as his dad got ready. Stephen was slicking his hair back, humming softly as his son complained.

Peter didn’t like being alone for long periods of time, so he usually needed a babysitter. But not a complete stranger, he wanted someone he knew.

“Calm down, Peter. Scott’s watching you.”

“Uncle Scott!? Why can’t Mister Stark watch,-“

“Woah, what’s wrong with Scott?”

“He plays too many pranks! Last time he shrunk and bit my ankles!”

“He told me after he did that, you stuck him on the wall for hours. And don’t worry, I took proper action when I found out he bit you.”

“Good! But still, can’t mister Stark watch me,-“

“I asked him first. He said he was busy.”

That seemed to upset peter. He got quiet and stared at the floor.

Tony was probably annoyed of him. After his aunt died, they became distant and after a certain incident they had… they didn’t talk. Only a few words, but other than that they barely spoke to each other.

They still hung out, but only to fix Peter’s suit and that was pretty much it. Not that Peter minded too much…

At least, that’s what Stephen hoped.

“Now, we should be on our way. Behave for Scott, alright?”

“Okay…”

Stephen walked out the bathroom, with Peter right by his side. Wanda was already waiting for him in the living room. Stephen sighed, leaning down to Peter’s level.  He pressed a kiss to the boy’s head, before he ruffled up his hair. Peter laughed and pushed his hands away.

“Behave, and stay safe. If you need anything, call us or anyone else. I left money on the counter, so you and Scott can go get food.”

“Thanks dad.”

“Mhm. Have fun Peter.”

“STEPHEN! Scott’s here!”

Stephen gave Peter a hug before going downstairs quickly. Scott and Wanda were chatting about.. something. Who knows. Scott noticed the sorcerer and waved at him.

“Wizard! Where’s the kid?”

“Upstairs. There’s money on the counter, buy some food with it. And don’t bite him this time.”

“Bite?”

Wanda asked, looking at Stephen and Scott suspicious. They both nervously laughed. Stephen wrapped his arm around Wanda and opened a portal.

“Have fun! Take care of my son!”

“Got it, boss!”

“What bite!?”

Stephen pulled Wanda through the portal. They were suddenly in front of a fancy restaurant that they both ate at often.

Wanda intertwined her fingers with Stephen’s, and led him in. After they got seated, Wanda looked at the menu and hummed to herself.

“You look stunning, Wanda.”

It was true. Wanda was wearing a dark red dress. It was casual, but it still managed to take Stephen’s breathe away. She somehow knew how to make him weak.

“Thank you, Stephen. You look handsome.”

Her hand was suddenly on his.

“Thank you for taking me out.. I still feel bad that I make you pay-“

“Wanda, I don’t mind paying. And you know it.”

“Yes, I know, but-“

“Shhhh. Enjoy this.”

Wanda just smiled at Stephen, her thumb rubbing against his. She was excited to start a family with him.

—————————

“Today was a good day.”

“Mhm. I love spending time with you.”

“Oh Stephen..”

Wanda’s hands trailed down Stephen’s sides, and she pressed a kiss to his cheek. Stephen exhaled softly and pressed his nose against her head. They always enjoyed being alone together.

Don’t get them wrong, but adored Peter but sometimes they just wanted to hold each other close, and give each other kisses. Having a fourteen year old son, that had the mindset of a 10 year old, didn’t really allow for any of it to happen.

They still loved Peter, because he made them feel like a real family. He was an amazing kid, he just had some trouble ever since his aunts death. But that’s what Stephen and Wanda were for.

“Shall we go home?”

Stephen mumbled, his arms wrapping around Wanda. Wanda nodded her head, her hands gripping the front of his shirt. Stephen opened a portal, and pulled Wanda through.

They looked around the sanctum. Nothing seemed out of place. Except for Scott, who was asleep on the living room couch. The living room was messy, and Wanda started to use her magic to clean it up. Stephen shook Scott, who woke up quickly. He gave a soft smile to Stephen. Stephen patted his shoulder.

“Where’s my kid?”

“He’s been weird. Locked himself up and didn’t come out. I shrunk and tried getting into his room, but he attacked me. You gotta crazy kid.”

“Peter did what?”

Wanda asked. Everything that was floating in the air with her red magic fell, causing different noises and crashes that made Stephen and Scott flinch. Scott sighed and stretched.

“Happened as soon as you guys left. I dunno, you should probably talk to him.”

“Alright, we will. Thanks Scott.”

“I’m just happy to help.”

After another quick goodbye, Stephen opened a portal so Scott could go home safely. Meanwhile, Wanda continued to clean the living room. She was oddly quiet, and looked…. Worried? And slightly disappointed.

She was using her magic to clean, but she was being too rough. She would set a glass down, and it would break. That caused her to stress out, and soon everything was on the floor and the living room looked even messier than before. Wanda sat on the couch, burying her face into she hands as she started to cry.

“Wanda?”

Stephen asked, sitting next to her. He pulled her into his lap, and used his own magic to put everything away, and to clean the living room.

Wanda nuzzled her face into his neck, holding Stephen as close as she could. Their chests pressed together almost painfully, but Stephen couldn’t have cared less.

“Whats wrong?”

“I-I feel stressed…”

“Over what?”

Wanda shook her head and pressed herself against Stephen, before she began sobbing softly. Stephen held her close, pressing kissed to her face and head whenever she let him. She ended up calming down, but tears still made their way down her face.

Stephen snapped his fingers, and they were both in their pjs. He lifted her up, and carried her up the stairs to their room. Stephen laid her down in her bed, and kissed her softly. Wanda smiled into the kiss.

“I’ll go talk to Peter. You need rest.”

Stephen mumbled once they pulled away. He kissed her head, then moved down to kiss her growing stomach.

“I love you both.”

He said, before walking out. Wanda’s face was a light shade of red. Stephen truly made her happy.

—————————

“Peter?”

Stephen asked as he walked through the portal. The door was locked, and Stephen didn’t want to deal with the whole unlocking it thing. Peter was laying in his bed, covers wrapped around him tightly. He didn’t even turn to look at Stephen.

“Peter?”

Stephen repeated. He still got nothing but the cold shoulder from Peter.

“Peter Parker Maximoff Strange! I’m talking to you.”

“I don’t wanna talk.”

Peter’s cold voice said.

“What’s gotten into you? Scott said you attacked him.”

“I wanna be alone.”

“Peter.”

“Just… leave me alone!”

Peter sat up quickly. His eyes were red and puffy, and he had tear streaks on his face. Stephen’s hands clenched together. Something was definitely up.

“Peter, what happened!?”

“I… I-I don’t like it when you and mom leave me… alone…”

Peter mumbled, pulling his knees up to his chest. Stephen raised an eyebrow and went to sit next to him. Peter immediately clung into Stephen’s side, tears streaming down his face as a gentle hand came to brush his hair back.

“What do you mean?”

“I…”

Peter swallowed.

“I-I just don’t like being a-alone… after my aunts death I… I-I hate being away from people I love and care about…”

“Peter…”

“I know you and mom are… really strong people, but… I-I still can’t help but worry,-“

“And that’s okay.”

Peter looked up at Stephen, his eyes still teary. Stephen held the boy close to his side.

“I’m sorry, Peter. I know you’re still grieving… it’s okay to sorry for us, but I promise, me and your mother will always be okay. We’ll always come back to you.”

“…. Promise?”

“I promise.”

Peter smiled.

“Can I sleep with you and mom today?”

“Of course. I’ll carry you.”

—————————

“The baby’s sleeping with us.”

Stephen announced as he walked in with Peter in his arms. Wanda tiredly agreed, and Peter dove into the middle and rolled onto his stomach. Stephen got in bed, pulling the covers over him and Peter. Peter smiled and slid his arms under the cold pillow.

This was nice.
