Kate plopped down on the couch with a bowl of popcorn.
She snuggled into Yelena’s side and sighed happily. “I’m glad you’re here,” she said.
Yelena smiled and put her arm around her girlfriend.
“I’m glad I’m here too, любимая.”
Kate turned on the movie and laid her head on Yelena’s lap.
Yelena stroked her hair gently and stole a handful of popcorn from the bowl.
Kate shot upright, face twisted in mock outrage. “You villain!” she said, clutching her heart dramatically as if wounded. Yelena laughed.
“Assassin, actually.”
Kate grinned and laid back down, taking some popcorn as well.
They watched the movie for a little while before Yelena shifted and made to stand up.
Kate lifted her head, sleepy from lying on Yelena’s lap. “Where ‘re you going?” she asked.
Yelena smiled.
“Just to the kitchen. I want to make more popcorn.”
Kate smiled back. “Well, you know me," she said. "I’m always up for more popcorn.”
She sat up and stretched. Yelena put the popcorn in the microwave and walked back to the couch.
Wrapping her arms around Kate, she pulled her closer and planted a soft kiss on her lips.
“I love you, you know.”
Kate grinned.
“Love you more.”
