A Day in Emrpise Du Lion

Summary:

Dorian complains about the cold and gets revenge.

Work Text:

Sage could hear the annoyance in Dorian's stomps as the mage struggled to stay in the slightly packed snow of the inquisitor's wake. He reminded himself to drag his own legs more, creating an easier path for Dorian and Vivienne to follow. Iron bull followed behind the mages, whistling tunelessly. The warrior was clearly amused.

Dorian eventually lost his temper and started complaining under his breath. "Let's hunt red templars in the snow. An even better idea, let's bring Dorian. We all know how much he just loves the cold and the snow." Sage could hear his lover's teeth chattering and almost felt sorry for him.

Vivienne tsked in exasperation at the Tevinter’s complaining but said nothing. She could apparently tolerate the cold better despite wearing less.

Without a word, Sage slung his cloak off and handed it back to Dorian. With a grumbled thanks, he took it and wrapped the material around his body twice.

Iron Bull chuckled before saying, "I hear the red lyrium is warm. You could huddle up next to that for a bit."

"Oh yes. Warm up a bit, lose my mind, possibly become an abomination. Sounds reasonable enough to me," snapped Dorian

Sage bit back a laugh. They reached the top of a crest and he stopped for a breather. Breaking snow was hard work after all.

"Hey Dorian," Iron Bull called. Sage turned around just in time to see Dorian get nailed in the face with a snowball. Iron Bull was doubled over with laughter. The shock and sheer disbelief Dorian wore made Sage lose it. The two Qunari howled with laughter -- at least until a dozen snowballs surrounded Dorian, quivering in the air. Vivienne sighed and cast a barrier spell.

"Well shit," Sage muttered as he raised his arm to shield his face.
