quarantine, more like hell.

Summary:

the Lolomg finally have time to get Sasha and Grizzop's full story about ancient Rome. too bad that time is seven days long and in a cramped holding cell.

Work Text:

it had taken all of twenty minutes for the group to get dropped into the tiny cell. they had sat down in the small room with a bottle of sake and started drinking. 5 minutes in Grizzop was pacing impatiently, and Hamid had, on a dare, downed a third of the bottle in one swig. ten minutes in, Hamid has half out of it leaning against Azu's side, while Sasha appraised and inspected random things in the room. by fifteen minutes Grizzop has down another third of the sake, Azu was acting as a pillow for the two shorter men while Sasha was inspecting something under the mat. at the twenty-minute mark, the floor came out from under them and all of them tumbled down into the darkness.

there dropped into a small stone room with bars where one of the walls is. the two awake party members, without time to plan, hear the sounds of chains moving and the only source of light in the room above them starts to disappear as the floor closes above them. azu tries to cut the chain mechanism pulling the trap floor closed, while Sasha jumps, attempting to climb out of the very cell-like room, only to miss and slip back into the room, into Azu's arms. the light disappears, as Azu's axe has done nothing to stop the mechanism.

"I really wouldn't trouble yourself." came a familiar voice from the darkness.

"wild?" the two girls ask, turning to look at the bars.

"whos asking?"

"it's Azu, clearly." she said, before remembering the smaller woman in her arms, "and Sasha."

"it's Knife to see you again, er ah, hear." silence, no laugh, no half chuckle, not ever a bemused exhale.

Wilde steps forward, dressed in a half-decent deskise, in Sashas opinion. his face is stern and hard, and Sasha drinks back, the look reminded her of Elderian. Azu set Sasha down and moved forward towards the bars. standing between Wilde and the rest of the mostly unconscious party.

"Why did you- did you drug us?" Azu asks, gathering to the group as Sasha checks over Hamid and Grizzop as best she can.

"come on Azu, if your Azu, you were always quite good at reading people. what do you think?" Azu pulls a hard face staring the man down, unable to get any information off of him, Sasha has approached now two, half glaring at Wilde from behind the safety of Azu.

"wheel I'm pretty sure I'm drugged so."

"good." Sasha wants to shrink back again, she fells totally throne by Wilde's sudden vary out of character personality shift. next thing she knows Berrots gonna be free.

"are you going to let us out?" azu asks, gathering vegly to the rest of the party behind her.

"Evenchuly"

"are you gonna keep us here for seven days?" Sasha finally speaks, from her little hiding spot behind the taller woman.

"I might do." Sasha was getting frustrated with Wilde's one-word answers, and she could tell that Azu was as well.

"what, how do we prove us to you." the taller woman all but sighed, clearly wanting out of the tiny cage more than anyone else. she got no response as Wilde turned and left, "wild get back here!" a heavy dor closes leaving them alone in the dark small cell. Azu frustratedly starts pulling at the bars, trying her best to pull them from the ground, but with no luck before slumping down, resting her head against the bars.

"I wouldn't bother if I uh if I were you. that's adamantine that is. you aren't getin' through, jus' relax and try to get some sleep." came a very familiar voice from the corner of the room, Sasha's head snapped up to look state towards it. slowly, she approached the bars. resting her hand against the cool sturdy metal.

"who are you?' azu asked just as Sasha can manage to pull the words out of her mouth.

"Zolf?"

Azu turned to look at Sasha, who clearly knew and was affected by this person's presence.

"just get some rest." Sasha picked at the chicken wire that was between the bars before turning and walking back into the cell, avoiding stepping on Hamid and Grizzop.

"Sasha?" Azu asked quietly before shooting the person in the corner a short glare and going to collect Hamid and Grizzop and join Sasha where she'd settled. half slumping next to Sasha with an arm full of friends, Azu asked quietly, "good or bad." Sasha looked up at her with her large dark eyes.

she knew what Azu was asking, what she was implying, "good." was her quiet cancer. she looked a little hurt, but not too much to worry Azu. if they weren't in the cage, Azu would half Expect the smaller woman to go off and hide on a rooftop someware.

over the hours, Sasha dropped off, leaning lightly against Azu as she dozed.

after a few hours, and Hamid's very loud Relisashon the Zolf was back, a stark difference to Sasha's near-silent whisper, the party has mostly settled down, aside from Grizzop, who found the concept of being in Quarantine for seven days Horrible. so it had been a few hours after they'd all woken up when Hamid had brought the topic up, " oh, Sasha Grizzop, you didn't get to tell us what happened while you were gone." he said looking up at the two. Zolf was also mildly interested but didn't show it.

Grizzop stopped pacing for a minute, looking over at Sasha, who was sitting crisis cross near the bars. she shrugged, "well like Sasha said we landed in the middle of an orgy," he started getting concerned looks from Azu and Hamid.

"wasin' an orgy long, Rome didn' have Goblins so they freaked out." sash said turning and leaning her back against the bars, "so we like fled, pretended Grizzop was my ugly human baby." she snickered at that and Grizzop rolled his eyes.

"but then the city was under attack, so while people were running we broke into Hades temple." Grizzop said sitting down on the floor next to Sasha, "but another of us speak Latin."

"and 'is temple didn' really say much, a lot 'bout his wife." Sasha continued, " so will we were leaving we ran into this guy, kickaro?"

"Cicero"  Grizzop interjected.

"you met Cicero?" Hamid asked, eyes lighting up, "what was he like?"

Sasha and Grizzop shared a glace, "a complete idiot." they said in unison making Azu burst out laughing, and Hamid to look almost offended, which made the other two laugh. sasha spoke up, "so like, he was tryin' to break into the Mars temple, and ya'know, we helped him,"

"and trying to get answers about the Dragons, so evenly he dragged us to some potion shop and stole us some comprehend language potions," Grizzop continued, cutting sasha off.

"'nd somehow he dragged us threw the sewers cus he wanted to free the dragons er somthing, but they were being guarded by the, uh, jupiter?," she passed giving Grizzop a look. he nodded at her, "the Jupiter lot, and I was like, 'oh I can just sneak past 'em' but-"

"but then the Mars lot suddenly attack them." Grizzop suddenly interjected. Hamid rolled his eyes muttering something about the martins, "and then Cicero ran into the middle of the fight,"

"so of course, we had to fallow him, then Grozzop took a bloody spear for me." Sasha interjected, giving the goblin a small glare at the last part.

"I was saving your life Sasha-"

"you almost died, I coulda serviced that." Sasha interrupted loudly, "sides, you told me not to die for a thing, so you were bein' a-"

"your not a thing Sasha!" Grizzop yelled, standing as he did. the room went silent.

"Sasha."

it was late, or at least Sasha thought it was late. the lights were out and everyone was asleep, or maybe everyone was asleep. but Sasha wasn't, she was sick of being in this small cramped cell, and she could tell Grizzop and Azu were to. she also wanted answers. so she was crouched near the bars, trying to silently cut threw the chicken wire with her adamantine dagger, eyes occasionally flicking up to the corner where Zolf was.

there was no light, which wasn't much of a problem, seeing as she grew up in other London, and shed picked locks in pitch black before. but this wasn't lock picking, not yet anyway. after a moment she felt the wire come loose under her blade and smiled. she reached her arm threw the bars, and threw the slit in the wire, making sure her arm could fit and slowly felt around for the lock. she'd need to cut a slit for her other arm but.

"what'er you doin'?" sasha froze. he wasn't asleep. Damnit, she stayed still for a moment, hoping upon hoping he'd go back to sleep, "yaknow i can see you right?" she slowly slipped her arm back into the cage.

"nothin'" shed have to come back to this later. she quietly shuffled back to the far corner of the cell, near where Azus armour was piled up.

It was, mabby the fourth day of quarantine and no one was happy about being in the cell. they had found a few things to pass the time, but it did absolutely nothing to ease the tension in the room. Sasha and Hamid were pretty shored the moment they got out Grizzop was gonna punt Wolde or Zolf in balls. but at the moment they were managing to have a fairly relaxed time.

Sasha and Grizzop were playing poker with daggers, arrows and a pile of rocks, and Azu was using Hamid as a set of waits while they all talked about random topics. this was a fine-ish way to spend their time in quarantine, "so, you're married?" Hamid asks, looking at the two from wae he was being used as a weight. Grizzop looked up from his cards over at the two,

"yes, we also have kids." Sasha gasped and put her cads down to look at them, "we adopted them a few years ago." Azu awwed at the thought of Grizzop with his tinny children.

"oh that's adorable, how did you two meet?" Azu asked placing Hamid down on his feet as she sat up moving to doing pushups instead.

"that's none of your business." Grizzop said crossing his arms, as Sasha sneakily tried to sneak a peek at his cards.

"please Grizzop?" Hamid asked.

"id like to here as well." Zolf said putting his book down in the corner.

"I'm not telling you." Grizzop said pointing his finger at Zolf while he spoke.

"please." Sasha asked, moving to join Hamid in Siting on Azu's back while she did pushups

"oh fine," grizzly grumbled for a moment, impatiently bonding his leg, "it was shortly after I became a paladin, I was sent off to investigate a small village in the woods off by Berlin," he said, Hamid and Sasha watched him, Hamid with this look of deep interest and Sasha with mild aw, he refused to turn and see what Zolf was doing. he let out a sigh, " apparently there was a reader in the area, reading small towns and some times burning em', I was on my way to one when I saw the flames." the memory scratched at the back of his head the town in flames the ashes, and the memory of his own clutch getting attacked.

"I was a little too late to stop them, but I heard some whimpering coming from a nearby tree,  and I went to investigate," his ears were tinted with blush, though he tried to hide them, "they were hurt and scared, so I helped them, then they helped me catch the raiders, and after that they didn't have anywhere to go so I took them with me."

"aww, that's beautiful." Azu says, Hamid agreeing with her.

"sounds like something out of a romance novel." Zolf piks up, and Grizzop started vegly threatening him again.

it seemed like it was getting late, no one really could tell with the lack of windows in the room but it just seemed late, Hamid was starting to drop off and Grizzop, despite his well of energy was seeming to steel down, Azu was reading one of the books Zolf had given her, and talking to Zolf about it. Sasha was peering over her shoulder, watching Azu read. Sasha wasn't the best at reading, she could read, just not very good.

"oi, Az?" Sasha asked turning to look at Azus face rather than the book. Azu hums in response, "do ya think you could read that to me sometime?" she points at the book and Azus eyes light up, and she can see Zolfs in the corner do the same. Sasha's face goes a bit red in embarrassment, "'s just, uh, you got a nice voice."

Wilde barely slept, it was on a rare occasion where he slept, and this was one of them, kind of. he was laying in bed half asleep when he heard the creak of the door, which was odd cus no one came into his room other than Zolf, and Zolf was busy watching the groop. hesitantly, wild peeks his eye open only to catch the dark slowest of a finger crouched at the end of his bed.

he screams, pushing himself into a sitting position keeping his eyes on the dark siloet at the end of his bed, whom flinched at his scream. so it wasn't sleep paralysis, witch made this even worse. his eyes darted around and landed on what he could make out as a pair of dark eyes. it avoided eye contact.

"uh, Hay, Wilde." an alkwerd familer tone said. it was Sasha, he let out an almost exasperated sigh, "so like, what happened, mate," she askes, though doesn't move in any way to show what she's asking about.

suddenly the door bursts open revealing Barns and Carter, both clearly ready for a fight.

the groop was woken up by the door being opened, which was odd until Zolf watched Wilde half drag Sasha back down into the basement, he looked over at the cell and saw the door left slightly ajar and sighed, "gods damn it, Sasha."
