Name: Ikkyū Naoya; I decided to shed this Oc from the generic «Mc» and give him a name. I still consider this fanfic to be on the cusp of ‘x male reader’ if it’s what you are looking for as a reader. It’s your choice if you want to project on him or not.
Same age as Ayato
Kitsune - Affiliated with the Grand Narukami Shrine.
Writes political pamphlets for Yae Publishing House.
Speciality dishes: Fried tofu, Sakura Shrimp Crackers and Katsy Sandwiches.
Went to Liyue to study Guhua martial arts - the trip was arranged between Yae and Ganyu. He became acquainted with Kuki Shinobu there.
Carries a super long red wooden sword, but changes stance with a thurible (turibulum) and his Hoshi no tama (star ball) when he needs to exorcize spirits. He doesn’t have a vision.
Occupy the valet position at the Grand Narukami shrine - divine attendant of Lady Guuji Yae Miko, concretely low-ranking functionaries of shrines, entrusted with miscellaneous duties.
Appearance: Prick ears (more like Gorou than the way Yae Miko makes her ears flow with the movement of her hair). Cordovan hair (dark red). As tall as Thoma and Ayato. Wears a deconstructed and modernized style of inazuman fashion.
I drew inspiration from four archetypes for this Oc.
-Ikkyū Sōjun, an interesting Shinto monk;
-Natsume Yuujinchou for the exorcism aspect of the serie (I will forever recommend this anime, it’s one of my comfort series I always go back to when needed);
-The Undercover Fall 2020 fashion show for his clothes because of the clear feudal inspiration behind the runway theme;
-Tonbokiri from Touken Ranbu for his physical appearances, although I headcanon him on the more burly/husky than super muscular - Thoma and Ayato would be ectomorph, Itto would be mesomorph and Naoya Endomorph | note: this relates to somatotype which is pseudoscience, I do not endorse the theory, I just found it easier to explain what I meant with the three body types.
