Chapter Text
Yogurt Cream was bored. He was waltzing around the living room of his pearly white mansion, not knowing what to do today. His bodyguard and friend Lilac Cookie was out for the day.
No, not friend, boyfriend. Yogurt Cream keeps forgetting they started getting together, considering how it had to be a secret from everyone. He figures that his father and brother did not hire Lilac to date him and that'd violate some rule mumbo jumbo regarding bodyguard status. And Lilac's always not wanting people to know more about him, especially not considering himself worthy of being with the heir. Oh, how he wished to snuggle with Lilac already and spoil him.
Anyway, Lilac made a heavy request that Yogurt does not wander off into the city and keep witnesses around him, as he doesn't ever leave until he knows Yogurt is safe. As much as Yogurt wanted to go run outside and enjoy the town, he knew that if he got hurt, Lilac would be heartbroken and go on an hourly rant.
Plucking a jelly bean in his mouth from a bowl of them he was carrying, Yogurt Cream would munch on it while looking around to see what to do. There were other guards at his quarters, but none of them wanted to talk or even look at him. It might be because they have to stand on-guard, but would it kill them to even greet him? If only Lilac would finish whatever he was doing now and come home to smooch him and hear his latest jokes!
Suddenly, Yogurt would hear a bit of commotion outside. Curious, he decided to open the front doors to see what was going on. He found that two guards were blocking off someone from passing, saying something about "how they weren't allowed in the mansion".
Yogurt took a peak from afar and realized something: is that Lilac being blocked off?! His purple hair and dark skin was obvious even under his robe, why were they blocking him off? He's an established member of the family, his bodyguard! Oh, Yogurt Cream wanted to ridicule these good-for-nothing guards…
Then Yogurt got closer and realized something: this was not Lilac Cookie. Instead, it was a female figure, unmistakably so with her voice unlike Lilac, wearing a purple abaya. Her eyes matched her robes, and she had what appeared to be lavender flower patterns as her front hair. This lavender theme would also persist with her robe, showing details around it.
She also had that, what was it, a prayer bump on her forehead? There had to be some connection here with Lilac Cookie! Is she a sibling of him? She looked too old for one, although it isn't impossible. Lilac never talked about his family to Yogurt no matter how much he asked, raising his curiosity.
"Please, I just need to talk to someone in the family…" the lady said, distraught.
"Leave now, or we will turn you in for attempted identity theft of Sir Yogurt Cream's bodyguard!" a guard threatened.
"I-It's not a disguise! So he is here?!" she only looked more in pain.
This wasn't good, Yogurt Cream had to do something. He had to figure out who this innocent person was, even if he was risking himself.
"Hey, hey!" Yogurt said, poking the guards with his fan. "Easy on her! She just wants to have a chit-chat, what's wrong with that?"
"Sir Yogurt Cream, this lady came forth disguised as your-"
"If she is trying to mimic Lilac Cookie, she clearly isn't doing a good job." Yogurt said.
The mention of "Lilac Cookie" seemed to trigger something in this lady, as she began tearing up.
"S-So I can tell it's not that! Let her in, I'll just have a talk with her in private!" Yogurt corrected. Something about her was really close to Lilac, he could feel it…!
The guards sighed in defeat, moving their spearmint spears away to let the lady in.
"So, what's your name, miss?" Yogurt asked.
"Lavender Cookie is quite a sweet name." Yogurt complimented Lavender. They were in a more private part of the front lawn, away from witnesses.
"Thank you…" Lavender replied. "But, I need to talk to you about my- your bodyguard."
Yogurt caught that. My? Were they really related somehow? "Ah, yes, Lilac Cookie. Such a trustworthy guard and friend." Yogurt glanced at her, examining her face. "Do you know him? You two look familiar." He then went to eat another jelly bean.
"I'm… I'm his mother. I'm Lilac's mother. Is he here?-"
Yogurt spit out the jelly bean bits and coughed, surprising her. Lilac's MOTHER? Oh breadcrumbs, what if she found out about his relationship with her son? Even if he's above her, Yogurt feels he'd need her approval…!
"Excuse me!" Yogurt coughed out the last bit of the blue food. "Uh, I wasn't expecting that! Unfortunately, Lilac is having his day off. I'm sure he'll be here tomorrow!"
"...No, I think it's better I don't confront him… Not yet." Lavender looked down.
Huh? Why didn't she want to see his son? Was this Lavender Cookie even his mom, or a fake? Eh, if she tries something funny like trying to stab him, he could always run and alert the guards. "Why not? Don't you want to see your son?" Yogurt asked. "I'll allow it-"
"He's changed. I know it." Lavender said. "They made him into a monster."
A monster? That was uncalled for, especially calling that to her son! "Lilac Cookie is anything but a monster, ma'am! He's loyal and kind-hearted even if he keeps himself expressionless-"
"You don't understand…" Lavender interrupted. "I need to tell you something, my liege. Just… Please don't do anything bad to him, I beg of you. I'll do anything."
What was she getting into? "Of course I won't do anything bad to him, not without perm-" Yogurt Cream had to slap himself from continuing. "No need to owe anything!"
Lavender just looked confused for a second, but looked around before leaning to Yogurt Cream's ear. What Yogurt would learn would change everything.
