Then, banging his hands on the desk, he rose, yelling out, “It’s a motherfuckin’ I!” He – gently – slams the pen to the page, crossing out his first attempt at maim and writing the correct version. He even adds an exclamation point. “I like to maim!” He shouts, pointing to each word as he reads it.
