Work Text:
Souls were weak, fragile things that could easily shatter under his bullets.
Human souls were easy to draw out but few monsters would ever willingly let him near theirs.
Not Papyrus though.
His boyfriend's soul was floating in front of his stem, practically touching it.
And it was nearly overwhelming how much love he could feel radiating from it.
How much love for him Papyrus must feel all the time
It had been so long since he'd had a soul...
And yet, his usual urge to absorb it just didn't seem to be there.
Wordlessly, he rested his head against the side, letting Papyrus' love flow over him.
It had been so long since he'd felt anything like this...
"...I love you, Papyrus."
He felt soft fabric against his petals as gentle fingers stroked them.
"I LOVE YOU TOO, FLOWEY."
He didn't doubt it.
Even as he still struggled to feel for himself, Papyrus could love enough for both of them.
