‘Oat milk latte for June!’
Nora looks up from her phone. It’s not like it’s an uncommon name. There must be hundreds of people called June in New York City and Nora can’t find a precise number before coffee, but at least a solid portion of those must share the same drink order as the woman whose face has just flooded her mind. Statistically, it’s pretty fucking unlikely that the woman about to pick up the drink from the end of the counter is her ex-boyfriend’s sister.
And yet.
And yet, a woman steps forward from the crowd waiting for their drinks, pink fingernails curl around the paper cup and when she turns, Nora meets familiar dark eyes, and it’s her.
