Chapter Text
In some universes Izuku remembers nothing of his father 'Hisashi Midoriya' in others he left and only video chatted with Izuku and his mother on a weekly or monthly basis. In this universe however, Izuku remembers his father well since the man 'went overseas for work' when Izuku was 10, of course the man had needed to work a lot but at least he could find time off to spend with his family. He had and still does love his father, but after he's gotten One For All and memories of a past life the first thing he realized was that his fathers name wasn't 'Hisashi' although the man had taken his moms surname... He would have written off the physical similarities as coincidences, like his hair and eye color (white hair and red eyes) but looking back comparing their mannerisms, he noticed they were exactly the same.
After having been told the story of AFO and OFA by All Might Izuku kept wondering why ion earth Katsumi/All For One would have wanted to start a family. He decided to call his father and ask.
He had waited a couple days and was now in his dorm, he had locked the door to make sure no one could come in, this was personal. He turned on his phone.
'Are you sure you wanna do this?' That was Yoichi in his head
'Yeah,' he thought-replied, 'I'm sure, I wanna know why,' he had told his past life twin/uncle about this plan a while ago.
'Are you sure he'll tell the truth.'
'No, but it doesn't hurt to ask.'
'Okay, then,' thankfully, Yoichi was the only past user that talks to him.
'Actually I'll text him first to make sure he has time to call'
he went to his texts with his father.
Me: Hey dad, can I call you or are you busy? I wanna ask you something, I feel like it'd be easier to ask on a call then through text.
He only had to wait a few moments for a reply.
Dad: Yes, I wouldn't mind calling.
Me: Okay, thanks dad.
Dad: Of course, Izuku.
After taking a few breaths, Izuku presses the call button.
"Hello," His father said from the other line
"Hey, dad, how are you?" He decided to start off easy before going for the big questions
"I'm doing pretty well, how about you?"
"I'm doing fine, but I have something I should tell you, well maybe, probably tell you..." Izuku sighed, "I've realized who you are, outside of being my father."
"..Izuku?"
"To be fair. it's only because of my past life, if it weren't for that I wouldn't have even thought to connect you to well... you? I guess."
"What do you mean... past life?"
"Well apparently, I had a Quirk that allowed me to be reborn, no one knew, hell I didn't even remember until after I got... well you know..." Izuku then couldn't help but laugh a little, "had I not gotten this Quirk I wouldn't even know you were a villain, and the most dangerous one to boot."
"Wait if you know, then why are you even talking to me?"
"You still haven't realized who I was, wow well to be fair it has been at least 200 years since you saw me die to fire."
He could pin point the exact moment the man realized who he used to be, "T-Tomu?"
"Yup," he popped the 'p' "but you can't call me that, I don't mind you calling me 'Izuku' because you're my father, but don't call me by my old name, mainly because you decided to rename your protégé after my past self."
The super-vilain sighs, "I understand, so, how long have you remembered?"
"Well, I don't remember everything, but they started to really stick just after the USJ."
"Ah, so it must have been meeting Tenko for the first time..."
"Tenko?"
"Ah, that's my protege's real name, I renamed him after your past self cause he reminded me of you as a little kid."
"You know, I really want to hate you right now... for a lot of reasons, but I can't because you stayed, if you'd left at any point before your fight with All Might I'd probably hate you."
"That's fair, but you know I love you right?"
"Part of me still believes that but I can't bring myself to fully trust your word anymore." Then he remembered something the man had showed him, not in his pasdt life but in this one. "Wait, did you want me to get OFA so it's like Star Wars?"
"No, I wouldn't want you to get hurt, but it is kinda funny how it ended up that way."
"I guess... Anyway, now that you know who I was and that I know you're the number one villain, my main question comes, why did you start a family?"
"Oh, at first I wanted a short break from my villainous career, but then I met your mother and well, I'd say it was love at first sight, for me at least, she was the sweetest, kindest, most beautiful-"
"I get it, now get on with the rest of your reason."
"after a year or two of our relationship, we got married and then a year later you came into, or I guess back into my life, and I.. well I at first was going to leave, out of fear that I would continue the cycle of abuse that our father started, but Inko being the amazing woman that she is convinced me to stay and that if I did anything remotely bad to you that she'd kick me out."
"That worked... Wow you really are a better father then ours, I wouldn't have thought that if you'd left, but you really are."
"It's weird to think that my son was once my brother."
"Don't you think I feel the same, dad?"
"I guess it would make sense for you to feel similar."
"Yup, of course it would." Izuku replied, "anyway, bye dad."
"Bye, Izuku, it was nice talking to you."
"You too dad, cya." Izuku hung up.
