It was finally Friday, the day you’ve been waiting for. You started your day off by unwillingly getting out of bed from your 4-hour slumber. Lately, you haven’t been able to sleep because of the amount of stress school has been giving. You begin to get ready to go to PK Academy. You were still half asleep, so you didn’t bother to style your hair so you decide to leave it out.
‘Whatever, I’m too tired to make an effort.’
Running downstairs you bid your parents good morning while struggling to put your shoes on, not getting anything to eat since you’d pass the convenience store while on your way to school.
“Bye Mom, bye Dad!” You yell while leaving, not bothering to stay to listen to their replies, of course if there were replies to hear to stay for.
You begin to walk to school even though you just want to stay home and regain those hours you lost by staying up.
‘I’m so tired, oh my god.’ You whine to yourself knowing it won't make a difference.
As you continue to walk, you end up spotting a familiar pink-haired boy. You knew that he attended the same school and classes as you but you never bothered to start a conversation with him since it looked like he didn’t want to be bothered by anyone, though Nendo and Kaido were always talking to him while he stayed quiet.
‘What’s the point of starting now?’ You ask yourself. ‘I don't think he would like to be bothered by any more people and frankly, I’m too tired to care.’ You giggle to yourself as a sigh follows.
Before you could take another step the pink-haired boy flinched and suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned to you looking surprised causing you to also halt at his sudden actions. A few seconds went by with both of you staring at each other, you decide to speak out.
“Uhm, hello? Are you..okay.?” More seconds go by with no response from the male student. ‘Why does he look so puzzled?’ His expression softened and soon followed a response.
“Yeah, I’m okay.” Your eyes widened at his response causing you to blush a little.
‘Jesus Christ, this guy’s voice is-wow!’ You exclaim to yourself. “Oh-uh okay then, uhm, see you later I guess?” You stumble on your words as you begin to walk away until you were stopped.
“Wait, what’s your name?”
He asks with a straight face. Still taken back at his voice you still reply. “I’m Y/N, we go to the same school and classes.” “What’s Your name?” You ask him as well but for some reason he doesn’t reply as quickly. He looks as if he is trying to telepathically speak to you but that doesn’t cross your mind.
“I’m Saiki Kusuo.”
Even though that was just an introduction, may the Lord give you strength because you felt as if you would melt into a puddle if he spoke anymore.
‘Jesus, why does this guy’s voice sound so nice? ’
“Oh, well nice to meet you, I hope we can be friends then.” You reply with a smile. Before you could leave you were stopped yet again.
“Would you like to walk to school together?” Your eyes slightly widened at the question but you nodded your head anyway.
Now, both you and Saiki are walking to school together. ‘I thought he wouldn’t want another person to be bothering him seeing how he is when others do. Putting that aside, how attractive is this man’s voice! How hasn’t he gotten a girlfriend?’ You asked yourself while a faint blush tainted your cheeks. Saiki on the other hand was questioning why he wasn’t able to telepathically answer or detect you.
He steals a glance at you and looks in front of him again. ‘I’ll just keep an eye on her for now. Asking her to walk with me was on impulse for some reason.”
A few moments had passed and you remembered that you were going to go buy some food. You turn to Saiki, who looks like he’s deep in thought, and you inform him that you need to go to the store to buy something to eat. He looked slightly annoyed because he didn’t feel like taking a detour, but then you quickly added picking up on his change of emotion. “It’s fine, you don't have to accompany me!” But Saiki just shakes his head, hinting that he doesn’t mind.
Both of you make your way to the convenience store and you decide to go to the sweets section because you have been craving sweets for a while. Saiki follows you as you try to decide what to get. “Isn’t it too early for sweets?” Saiki asks, tilting his head at you.
‘God give me strength.’
“It’s never too early for sweets.” You reply dryly, still searching for something to eat as Saiki turns away and gives a small and quick chuckle .
A few minutes goes by and you haven’t made a decision, so you turn to Saiki to ask him but he’s too busy looking at Coffee Jelly. Just as he was about to grab a Coffee Jelly off the display, you tease him and say with a smirk, “Isn’t it too early for Coffee Jelly?” He turns to you, annoyance clearly staining his face. “Hey hey, in my defense those were your words, not mine.”
“Yeah? And as you said before, it's never too early for sweets.” He also responded dryly, turning away from you and grabbing the sweet snack off the stand.
You chuckle a little and agree, “Yeah, those were my words, I’ll admit.” You then decide to also grab a Coffee Jelly seeing that Saiki was content to buy it. ‘Hm, guess I could try something new.’ As you and Saiki get to the cash register, you decide that you should pay for Saiki’s Item because you had brought him with you so it was the least you could do for him. At first he said- well shook his head no but then compiled because he knew that you would be very persistent.
You and Saiki exit the store as you decide to look at the time. “Oh, we might be late. Sorry that I had us take a detour.” He shrugged and went to eat his Coffee Jelly since you had the idea to buy spoons. Saiki took his first bite and he looked as if he died and went to Coffee Jelly heaven. You chuckled at the thought of Saiki surrounded by Coffee Jelly. ‘If Saiki is enjoying it, it must be good.’ You take out your Coffee Jelly and begin to eat. Hesitantly, you took a bite and you were amazed. “Oh my god!” You exclaim in amazement slightly startling the pink-haired boy at your sudden outburst. Turning to him you apologize, ”Sorry, I just didn’t know Coffee Jelly would taste this good.” He nods and turns away to enjoy his Coffee Jelly.
‘For a girl who looks very tired, she sure has enough energy to be like this.’ Saiki says to himself. ‘I still need to find out why I can't read her mind, maybe she’s just like Nendo-No that’s not it, she looks smarter than him. Maybe she’s unconsciously blocking me…’ Saiki begins to look deep in thought, trying to decipher as to why he can't read your mind until you interrupt his thinking.
“Oh, looks like we’re here. Thanks for walking with me by the way.” He nods his head, putting the Coffee Jelly container in the bag and you do the same. You throw out the trash and as soon as both of you enter school grounds, Nendo and Kaido quickly surround Saiki.
‘Not these idiots again’ Saiki says to himself, annoyed but not showing any emotions. You see that Nendo and Kaido are trying to talk to Saiki and so you decide to wave goodbye to Saiki and tell him that you’ll see him later as Saiki responds with his signature head nod.
You make your way to class and go to your seat where you put your head down as an attempt to catch some sleep before school starts. You begin to take your nap for the next 10 minutes until someone taps you on the shoulder to wake you up. You look up to find Teruhashi, the girl that glows, looking down at you. “Hey, Y/N, wake up, It’s time for class!”
Still half asleep, you say “Oh uh yeah, yeah thanks.” You recollect yourself so you wouldn’t be half asleep for the lesson until you feel someone tap your shoulder again. Annoyed, you turn around and say “Oi! What do you want?” You didn’t like it when people touched you because it bothered you for some reason. You come to find the same pink-haired boy that had walked you to school was the one who tapped your shoulder. “Oh. Hi Saiki, you need something?” You asked, your annoyance dissipating. Saiki was still trying to telepathically talk to you but it failed again. The lack of sleep must’ve been getting to you because you were getting annoyed and confused at his lack of response. “Well?” You say in frustration. Saiki gives up and gives you a dismissive head shake. You turn back around rolling your eyes as class begins.
A few minutes later you feel someone tap on your shoulder. You quietly groan in annoyance and turn around to be met with a sticky note. In confusion you take it from Saiki and turn back around facing ahead again. You read the note to find it saying “Thanks for the Coffee Jelly- Saiki K.” You smile at the note and think ‘He has pretty nice handwriting.’ A few moments later, you return the sticky note to him. Saiki hesitantly takes the note and reads it. “No Problem Pinkie :)- Y/N” He smiles to himself but then stops. ‘What am I smiling for?’ He folds the note and goes back to paying attention.
‘I wonder if we’re friends now? Nah, I shouldn't jump assume.’ You say to yourself. ‘We’re..Acquaintances? Yea..’ ‘Acquaintances’ You repeat to yourself while a little smile begins to form.
