With the new couple still in the light airy warmth of each others presence they decided to continue basking in the solace of each other's arms. Softly moving in for another kiss before

*CRASH*
Their attention snapped toward the small set of dilapidated ruins near the flower field, where the sound of falling rubble originated…Subaru squinted her eyes at the small cloud of dust kicked up by the falling debris trying to determine what it was.

“Huh is that a scarf-”
“LADY FELT!”
Reinhard gasped before dashing over in the blink of an eye.

The girl groaned looking up disoriented, before coming to the realization of the red haired knight standing over her. Quickly attempting to dash away, the young girl was caught by Reinhard

“Lady Felt, are you injured? What happened? Did you fall from this roof? Although you dont appear to be injured it would be best to see you are properly looked at even if there are no apparent injury…

“GET OFF OF ME YOU ASSHOLE FREAK!! Y-You PERVERT! I.. UGH!”
Felt spattered out while slipping out of Reinhard's grasp.

“Wait! You were watching us!?” Subaru exclaimed, feeling her face heat up like an oven.

“OBVIOUSLY!” Felt shouted back with her own face turning red from a mixture of embarrassment and anger.
“I WAS JUST MAKING SURE THAT TOY SOLDIER OVER HERE WASN'T GOING TO DO ANYTHING WEIRD TO YOU!” Yelled Felt as she stamped on the ground, shooting Reinhard an angry glare.

Then in near unison the pair sprung into action quickly trying to defend what occurred a few moments ago with their voices almost drowning the others out with Subaru stammering loudly and Reinhard explaining calmly.
“Felt to begin, (WAIT SO LISTEN FELT) as you know (R-reinhard I REALLY like him and… I um wanted to tell him tonight) I find Subaru near and dear to my heart, (h-he’s always been there for me and…) and over these past few months I have grown to have feelings for her (I couldnt go another day without telling him how I felt!) and I wanted to express them at some point. However tonight she revealed to me that she felt the same way, (I was so happy to find out that he felt the same about me…) which while surprising it made me extremely happy (...and so we are a couple now and I couldn't be happier) and someday I hope to make a family with her-”

Turning to look at each other they both donned a coat of blush again, realizing the simultaneous praise that they just gave each other while also revealing that they were a couple for the first time to anyone.

With Felt’s eyes darting back and forth between the pair a pained wince spread on her face as she slowly tried to scoot away.
…
However with the pair now looking at one another, still near oblivious to each other's praise from a moment prior. Reinhard spoke up first.
“Subaru I… I apologize for being too forward with my intentions a moment ago, I did not intend to make you uncomfortable by revealing that I was courting you, nor did I intend to embrace you by my claims to want to start a family with you in the future.”
With the realization of his words now hitting her fully her embarrassment grew once again. The girl's face began to turn red, as her head got light and airy as if she were stuck in the clouds. Taking a moment to compose herself as she shook with excitement she finally spattered out.
“W-wow heheh cheesy dialogue is always a S+ from me! So you get a pass!”
Giving Reinhard a soft hug as she awkwardly bounced from foot to foot from her excitement.

With the lack of self awareness emanating off both of them completely overwhelmed the already embarrassed Felt. She started to back away from the pair a bit faster with the cringed expression only growing.

“ENOUGH! YOU DAMN PERVERT BASTARDS!!!”
Felt quickly turned around having enough of their ever deepening hugging. And with her face as red as an Appa she ran away as fast as she could.

Still in eachothers arms the pair watched in confusion as they stared at the trail of dust that the young girl left in her wake.

“Ah she seemed to be in a hurry, I’ll have to apologize to Lady Felt later for keeping her here for so long. Besides that, we should return to the festivities so as to not cause the worry of any of our other companions.”

As the pair neared the palace, the ever growing sounds of celebration increased. Subaru got increasingly nervous with her hand slowly slinking away from Reinhard's embrace.
Looking down solemnly she stopped for a moment. Reinhard paused alongside her with a growing look of concern spreading on his face. Hesitantly reaching out his hand once again.
Only for the girl to speak up first.
“A-are you sure you want to be seen with me like this?” The girl mumbled without making eye contact.
“What if som-.... mmhm”

With her words being cut off turning into a soft gasp as Reinhard re-took her hand, planting a gentle kiss on top, holding it ever so gently yet tenderly all the while.

“Subaru, I would find it the greatest honor to inform anyone, and everyone regarding my feelings toward you. It is something I will never be ashamed of, as you are truly the one and only person i’ve ever had these kinds of feelings for.”

With her face now as red as his hair she couldnt help as a smile stretched across her nervous face.
“W-well if you put it like that… how can a gal say no!”

With the pair entering the main hall of festivities the fact that the Royal Knight was Courting a mere commoner would also be revealed.

To put it mildly- bombastic, loud events were not something Subaru was accustomed to nor something she enjoyed. For this one in particular she felt increasingly nervous, as not only was she one of the key figures of attention, but also it would be revealed that she was now being “courted” by the sword saint. With her vision slowly shrinking to near pinholes as her anxiety grew, the world seemed to blur around her. The sounds of chatter, music, and excited revelry became nothing but indiscernible noise in the background. With her sole focus now being on the warmth emanating from Reinhard’s hand.

With the increasing number of eyes looking toward her, alongside the droves of people approaching her giving thanks or their congratulations for her part. These onlookers didnt fail to notice the interlocked hands of the girl and the Sword Saint, giving raised eyebrows, and discrete points alongside whispers to each other.

Feeling faint, Subaru latched onto Reinhard even closer with even her walk now becoming uncomfortable as she stumbled over her own feet.
Sensing her distress, Reinhard led her over to a more secluded area of the hall so she could rest for a moment on one of the benches away from the main crowd.

“S-sorry I… its just that crowds like this…I dont handle them well… now im just making you look bad too…” mumbled the girl in a dejected voice.

Reinhard did his best to comfort the distraught girl, softly speaking comforting words as his hand continued to encompass her own.

“Subaru..-” Reinhard began again but was cut off by the familiar voice of a friend.

“Nyah so this is where nya love birds snuck off nyu! Nyu had us all worried when nyu ditched us and nyan off earlier”

Perking up the girl noticed the familiar faces of Crusch, and Felix. It took a moment for Felix’s words to register…before her distraught face quickly turned into a blushing mess.

“Oh uhh sorry um we w-were just, well I-I wasnt feeling great so Reinhard he just um wanted for me to rest for a moment! We were going to head over to you two and the rest of the group any second.”

*chuckle*

Crusch had a surprisingly warm smile on her face, but composed herself before speaking “ahem”

“There is nothing that is in need of you to apologize for, I simply wished to offer my gratitude for your less than small contribution of the subjugation of the White Whale. When I heard the news of you two just a short while ago it brought back many fond memories that I once shared with someone dear to me. So in addition I also wished to offer my congratulations to the both of you…”

“W-wha?”
With the pair looking at each other in slight confusion, Felix decided it was his turn to chime in. With a cheeky playful smirk.
“Welllll nyobviously Felt told nyus all about nyu two!!!” With his tail whizzing back and forth in excitement.

“Ah!”
With the realization finally clicking in the girls head the warmth of Reinhard’s hand on her own suddenly became readily apparent. Taking a glance at him she quickly noticed an uncharacteristic redness to accompany a smile so warm that it could melt a glacier as he spoke up.

“Thank you for your kind words, I intend to continue to cherish Subaru with all my heart”

“AH!” Subaru sprang up with her face heating up beyond belief.
“Y-yes! Of course that! I- THANK YOU! I just forgot that we actually came here to tell all of you!”

Felix looked like he was having the time of his life, seeing the partial fruits of his labors finally paying off in front of his own eyes.

“Hmmmm” Felix hummed to himself
“Well im just glad all ny-I nyefforts didnt go nyu waste! Ny-I worked really hard for this with Sir. Clueless over there!”

With that Reinhard let out a rare chuckle. Standing up to join Subaru by her side, retaking her hand. His warm expression first met Subaru’s eyes, filling her heart with joy before he slowly turned to meet Felix’s eyes.
“Felix, truly from the bottom of my heart… Thank you. You have been a true friend, I only wish I noticed your efforts to make me live a happier life sooner. But you are the key factor to why I spent so much time with Subaru when she first arrived in the Capital. Without your efforts early on encouraging us to spend time together, im not sure we would have realized our feelings for eachother in this short of time…”

Reinhard’s flattery seemed to work wonders on the Cat Knight with his tail perked up and a proud expression on his face, comically boasting about his grand achievement of having the 2 most hopeless romantics find love. Earning a laugh from the group.
