Work Text:
Sam thought she would miss Atlantis more. The city was beyond extraordinary. She wished she had had the time to explore the city more as a scientist. To pull apart and eagerly examine every alien piece in search of science that would take Earth leaps and bounds into the future. Alas the IOA had other plans. She hoped that Woolsey was up for the job. So far from home and in constant peril. Atlantis sure wasn't for the faint hearted.
She pulled up to the familiar cabin tucked away in the Colorado mountains. As fantastical as the city of the Ancients was, being Earthside also had its pleasures.
She let herself in and packed the beer into the fridge.
“Jack!”
“Out here!”
Of course. Out fishing.
She reached into her bag and pulled out one last thing— a photo of her last Atlantis base party. The walls of the mess hall were plain enough it didn't give away anything alien so she figured it was safe enough. She chose a promotional magnet from their go-to pizza shop to stick the photo up amongst the others and smiled. Fond memories. All of them.
