Summary:

A collection of SSKK drabbles no longer than 500 words per chapter.

I am not a writer nor is English my native language. There might be grammar mistakes here and there but I do hope you find it enjoyable at least.

Notes:

Akutagawa always looks forward to coming home. Even when he's worried about whether or not his apartment is still intact.

Chapter 1: Welcome Back

Chapter Text

“Why is my coat covered in fur?” The tone of his voice is more of a demand than a question. In his hand was one of his favorite wool coats and on the back was a big patch of white fur stuck on the fabric. Of course it just had to be one of his black coats.

Atsushi looked like he wanted to shrink under his gaze. His ears and tail were out. The rounded ears were flattened on his head and he was wringing his tail. Shame oozed off of his person and he had given Akutagawa a slew of apologies the moment his eyes landed on the piece of clothing. It’s not as if the coat is beyond salvation, only that he needs to pay extra at the dry cleaners. And he would like to have an explanation as to why it even came to this.

“Jinko…”

“I’m sorry!” At this point Akutagawa had lost count on how many apologies his lover had given him. “The job took you too long and I missed you! And well, the tiger started missing you too…”

Akutagawa understands the struggle to an extent, having a beast for an ability. But Atsushi’s tiger was linked to him more deeply than Rashoumon was to Akutagawa, to the point where certain characteristics and habits were attributed to the tiger itself.

“Is this the only one?” He doesn’t know if he’s referring to it being the only coat that Atsushi got his paws on or that it’s the only casualty among other things. After all, they’re still by the entryway of their shared apartment.

Atsushi wasn’t able to hide the grimace.

Akutagawa sighed, coming closer to hug him. The younger man eagerly accepted the embrace, wrapping his arms around his waist. “I suppose this is better than coming home to a shredded and chewed up couch.”

“We agreed to never bring that up again,” Atsushi groaned.

With a chuckle, Akutagawa moved away, heading further into the apartment. He doesn’t doubt that this will be the last incident of his boyfriend’s destructive cat-related behavior but at least nothing was actually damaged this time.

“Jinko—! The curtains!”
