Chapter 1: It Started With Gas Station Gays

Chapter Text

"You aren't aiming correctly!"
"Well, I'm trying! Okay?"
"It's not even that hard. Square your shoulders, grip the axe tightly, but not too tightly, draw your arm back and throw the damned thing!"

This is not the way I'd planned on spending the first week of summer--standing behind a someone twice my size with triple the abs, holding an axe like how a kid would hold a fucking pencil before they learn to write, yet here I am doing exact thing.

The air is hot, stale and it reeks of of pixie shit. The sun is blinding and this kid, who, I've forgotten the name of, has completely missed the target 56 times now. Okay, I'm being slightly unfair. He's hit other stuff like a man-eating plant who's been walking around this spot of the forest for the past month, attempting to luring unsuspecting dumbass to their deaths and he also put a nice Knick in a flesh-tree. It shrieked and cursed, before shriveling up and dying.

Anyway, it's not his fault I'm stuck being tourer of sorts. It's mind. And all because of a 'small' outing gone wrong involving an old, moth-eaten satchel I found a while back and it may or may not have opened a portal, okay, multiple portals to different worlds. Worlds completely opposite of mine. Safe worlds. Horrifying worlds. Worlds where girls laid eggs and guys shat gold; Worlds where love was actually deadly and where hatred kept you alive. So many worlds that I couldn't stay in because they quite literally would've crumbled.

Actually, that's probably what you'd like to hear about instead of the current mess Nameless-guy is making of this place, so now's as good of a time as any to start.

-------------Chapter 1----------
I can't drive for shit. I know this, my friends know this, the car knows this. And yet I'm always the one behind the wheel when we go places. They probably think that if they let me drive more, I'll get better at it. My totaled mailbox disagrees with that. But, I'm not complaining. It's nice. Because I control the radio and I've been blasting Black Veil Brides, albums for the past however long we've been aimlessly driving.

Liz pokes my back."I gotta piss," she says.
"You're always in there for 40 minutes," complains Oli.
"We're running out of gas anyway, " I lie. We have plenty of gas, I just don't want to listen to this and I need a break from driving. I pull over at a nearby 7/11 and Lizz hopes out. I look at Oli
"What?" he asks.
I raise a brow as if to say 'slushies?"
I can see the exact moment he resigns. He holds out his hand for my cash and, with too much speed for someone who hates the current situation he walks in after her. While she does that, I decide to fill up the little bit of empty space in the tank. But right as I unplug the nozzle, a guy? I think? With dirty blonde hair goes screaming pass me.
Something detaches from his shoulder and, without thinking, I pick it up and try to get their attention. I scream for them and they don't answer. More likely than not, they can't hear me, so I keep running for what feels forever, when they stop and turn towards me. I freeze as I see some shit you only see in high budget horror movies. They open their mouth and start melting.

Their face turns into a beige paste and and their body follows suit. It's dead silent except for the liquid hitting the ground. Eventually there's nothing left besides a singed pair of blue shorts and a white tee-shirt, but when I go to get a better look, like a dumbass, the liquid evaporates and the cloths disintegrate.

All that's left is, as far as I can tell is a bulky, moth-eaten, satchel with a broken strap.

I hear, then see, a car pull up beside me. I must not have been running that long. Oli honks the horn and get in the car, with that bag. And I greeted with a chorus of

"WHAT THE FUCK's" from both of them.
