Summary
Finally he glimpsed something at the far rim of the world where all was dark and inexplicit: a flash of gold seared his eyes and left him lightblind. He fell to his knees. He blinked hard, gasping, color sparkling behind his eyelids.
It ended. There was no noise in the preternatural silence that followed. The earth had again changed around him. He was perched at the top of towering cliffs, height giving him vantage over the land. Everything was dark once more. Raw, and newly altered, his world lingered in the malformed shadow of rebirth.
Then he remembered—Alatus.
And with it came everything else.
