Work Text:

“Father, me and Midoriya are dating and I'm going on a date with him.”

Enji blinked harshly before static began to fill his ears. He couldn’t even react when Shouto dragged a gaping Midoriya by the arm swiftly out of the house.

When he was asking where Shouto was going so late at night he simply wanted to do his fatherly duty in making sure that his son was okay. Especially because Shouto rarely ever left the house.

He expected to maybe get the response of going to the store, to train, or maybe even go to his friend Yaoyorozu.

Shouto, though, did the unexpected thing by opening the door to reveal Izuku Midoriya, All Might prodigy, sitting on the steps seemingly waiting for him. His son.

The door slammed shut which shook Enji out of his mental shock.

“FUYUMI!” Enji shouted, making his way to the kitchen where he saw his daughter washing dishes.

“Yes father?”

He leaned on the counter and rubbed his eyebrows. “Did you know that Shouto was… dating All Might’s prodigy?”

Fuyumi huffed before using a rag to dry the dishes off. “His name is Izuku and yes I knew about it. He’s a sweet boy father. I think you should accept them. To top it all off I've seen him and Shouto train and he forces Shouto to use his full power more.”

Enji hummed and pondered a bit. Yes, Midoriya was All Might’s prodigy but Fuyumi was right. He did somehow bring out the power in him.

Maybe it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to allow the boy to date his son.

It was a bad idea to allow the boy to date his son.

Enji thought he had grown as a man, grown as a father, grown as a person . But never in his life more had he ever wanted to throw a child out of his house more.

He never felt this way with the other people Shouto brought to the house like Iida, Yaoyorozu, Sero, Uraraka,

or even Bakugo Katsuki, the most insufferable child ever.

But Izuku, Izuku Midoriya was a different breed. An entirely different child.

Izuku always seemed to be at their house.

Literally, always at their house as if he didn’t have another home.

Enji could vividly remember one day when he was rushing to get to the agency because his alarm clock didn’t wake him up on time.

While getting dressed, he found that there were none of his socks in his drawer. So like any normal person, he went to his laundry room to grab some.

Unfortunately, Enji did not have the time to see what socks he grabbed but he knew that he grabbed some socks with blue print on them.

When he got to the agency though and began changing into his hero costume he, nor anyone he was around couldn’t help but notice the bright blue and yellow All Might socks that adorned his feet.

“Endeavor sir are those-”  before the sidekick could finish their sentence Enji shot them a fiery glare and stomped out of the room.

“You have on WHOS SOCKS?!”

“...All Might’s.”

Hawks let out the loudest cackle the world possibly could have ever heard before slamming himself on the floor, laughing with pure joy.

Enji glared at the bird on the floor before he heard Burnin next to him snicker.

“There's absolutely no way that those are yours or any of your childrens. Who are you sleeping with?”

Hawks laughed even harder while Enji shot an even harsher glare at the woman.

“I'm not sleeping with anyone. Shouto is dating All Might’s Prodigy . These are his atrocious socks.”

Both heroes blinked before Hawks stood up and sat on a chair backwards.

“Wait, do you mean Midoriya Izuku? The kid from the sports festival that practically broke his whole body is dating your son?”

Enji sighed and pinched his eyebrows, nodding slowly.

“And you're letting it happen?” Hawks continued to question.

Once again, Enji nodded and Burnin beside him elbowed him.

“Pretty cool of you. I know this is probably eating your salty ass up inside but at least your kid is happy.” Hawks nodded in agreement and Enji sighed.

Yes, the All Might socks were absolutely awful but Enji thought that things really couldn’t get any worse.

Things definitely could get worse.

After returning home from a long shift Enji always expected Fuyumi to have or be cooking dinner.

Her cooking was always top tier. Enji always wondered why she decided to pursue a career in education rather than culinary. But, as the good father he was, he of course didn’t question too much.

This particular day though Enji opened his front door not met to the delicious smell of his daughters cooking but was rather smacked in the face with a burning charcoal scent that was paired with the blaring of their smoke alarm and a thick black smoke.

“What the…”

Once the smoke escaped through the door Enji could clearly make out ice shards that scattered his kitchen that obviously belonged to either of his sons (most likely Shouto) who both stood in the kitchen frozen, their mouths agape as they stared Enji in the eyes.

Shouto had his hand out towards the now charred and frozen stove while Natsuo held a fire extinguisher.

Of course, though, in the middle of this chaos covered in char and fire extinguisher residue stood All Mights prodigy , Izuku fucking Midoriya.

“Uh, welcome home Endeavor San?”

Now Enji prided himself in having completed his anger management classes but this situation in particular was enough to make him burn his house down.

But of course, the idea of having to find a new home and have his children hate him more wasn’t very desirable. So, Enji thought back to the first resource his therapist taught him, which was breathing.

Enji took a deep breath before carefully picking out his next words. “What the hell is going on in here?”

All the children in the room paled as a calm and collected Enji oddly enough seemed MUCH more terrifying than a big and angry one.

Fuyumi, the goddess and peace maker, slowly stepped forward and sighed.

“Izuku noticed how tired I was today and offered to cook dinner. The thing is, that Izuku isn’t too…keen in the kitchen so he accidentally set the food on fire so of course Shouto attempted to put it out but in Shouto putting it out he accidentally activated his flames, making the fire bigger but quickly he switched to ice but right after Shouto activated his ice Natsuo came out with the fire extinguisher and when he pulled the plug it went all over everywhere.”

She took a deep breath before continuing “But, now all the fire is gone and it's most definitely a pizza night!”

The room was engulfed in silence before Midoriya came up, covered in fire extinguisher residue, to drop to the floor in front of Enji. He looked up at him with eyes brimmed in tears.

“Endeavor san I-I’m so sorry I-I just wanted to make dinner and-” Enji let out a loud huff before brushing past the teen on the floor and marching to the phone in the kitchen that had somehow managed to stay in tack during the whole ordeal.

With this phone. Enji made three calls while everyone else in the house watched.

First to a pizza place.

Second to a restoration company.

And third to his therapist.

After these fiascos Enji really did consider putting a stop to the little “relationship” between his son and the trouble magnet.

So, one day after one of his rather wet shifts (due to the rain) Enji noticed the abnormally red boots that belonged to Midoriya not sitting at the door like they normally would be.

This meant that the boy was most likely not there.

Meaning that Enji finally had the opportunity to talk to Shouto about his romance… choices.

Making his way to Shouto’s room Enji could hear quiet murmuring which was odd since Enji knew that neither Fuyumi nor Natsuo would have been home tonight. Was Shouto on the phone?

The closer that Enji inched to the room though the more distinct the voices became. It was obviously his son and Midoriya talking but why were they sitting in the dark whispering?

Stealth wasn’t as much of Enji’s strong suit as it would be Eraserheads but he knew a thing or two about keeping quiet and attempting to stay out of any light. So, he pressed his body up against the wall and kept his ear close to the door where the whispers became much more understandable.

“Shou, Shou, I'm right here. No one can hurt you. I’ll be right here as long as you need me.”

He heard Midoriya’s voice, softer than he had ever heard it, quickly followed by a whimper from what he could only assume was his son.

Slowly, the pieces clicked into Enji’s head.

Ah, a panic attack.

Enji knew that Shouto frequently got these as he could hear him from his room attempting to muffle his cries. Of course, Enji had no idea how to approach this. As the obvious cause for his son's trauma and attacks it didn’t seem right for him to try and go console him as it could only invoke more fear into the boy.

Midoriya, though, seemed to know how to help. His soft murmurs of reassurance and promises slowly eases Shouto’s crying and surely enough the room was silent.

After a few moments of standing, Enji sighed and made his way to the living room to ponder what he’d just witnessed or rather heard.

A few moments later a creak could be heard from Shouto’s bedroom and Enji could see Midoriya poke his head out before fully emerging.

He looked damp, most likely from the rain and tired. He made his way to the kitchen where he grabbed a glass and filled it with water, unaware of the gaze he was getting from Enji.

That was until Enji cleared his throat, making the boy squeal and jump, almost dropping the glass.

Enji entered the kitchen and leaned on a cabinet, hovering over the agape jawed boy.

“Endeavor I-I’m so sorry I know I’m not supposed to be here without your permission and I know that I have my shoes on and I probably got water everywhere but Shouto-”

Enji chuckled and put his hand up, indicating the now confused boy to stop talking.

“I know boy. It’s fine. I… I’ve messed up a lot as a father. I caused a lot of trauma to Shouto. I might not be the biggest fan of you sometimes, a lot of the time-”

Midoriya smiled and snored.

“But, you are my son's boyfriend and you help him a lot. You help him with the shitty things I've done in the past so I thank you.”

The two left it off with a nod as Enji allowed Midoriya to spend the night and shower to make sure that he didn’t get sick from the wet clothes he had on.

After that confrontation, Enji found himself tolerating Midoriya’s incidents a lot more. Even being able to watch tv with his family while the two boys snuggled together.

Maybe Enji could find himself getting used to this.
