Summary
Steve Harrington never planned for Eddie Munson.
Steve was supposed to marry his high school sweetheart, have 2.5 children, and take over the family business. He was supposed to live a blissful life on a nondescript cul-de-sac, complete with a white picket fence and a closet full of tasteful polo shirts. He was supposed to make a graceful transition between being the golden boy and being the American Dream.
Mediocrity was what destiny had designed for Steve. Reality had other plans.
(Or, Steve and Eddie, against all odds, fall in love)

The one where Eddie gets infected by the Upside Down, everyone is very funny, and Beth the nurse is a badass who saves the day.
Also my one of my favorite Murray scenes in fanfic:
“I’m having a thought!” announces a voice. Steve turns to see a dark-haired man with large, wire-frame aviators–– the infamous Murray, who is standing between Hopper and Joyce–– scrutinizing Steve and Eddie with single-minded intensity.
Nancy’s eyes go wide. “No, you absolutely are not!” she says, hustling over to him.
“I am definitely having a thought,” doubles down Murray. He waves a hand in Steve and Eddie’s direction. “I am having a thought about all of this.”
Nancy, aided by a panicked-looking Jonathan, shoves Murray away, ushering him back into his red van.
“Stop having thoughts! They’re unhelpful! They complicate things!” Jonathan says as he closes the door on Murray.
Nancy and Jonathan bracket the van door, smiling with faux serenity. Between them, behind the panel of tinted glass, Murray pouts, silenced.
“What the fuck,” Eddie says conversationally.
“Murray,” Steve explains, “Apparently he is very blunt.”
“It’s better this way,” confirms Hopper with a grimace.
