Work Text:
The clicking of silverware was maddening. Marinette wasn’t used to quiet gloomy dinners no matter what the case was. Her father, the king, had always tried to not bring his work into the dinning room, and even her mother had to leave her issues at the door.
But the war was enormous of a matter to break the rule. The atmosphere was tense, and her father was grim, and her mother’s face was emotionless. The young heiress felt small and feared speaking not to sound callous.
Thomas signaled for the maid to refill his glass with water. While the wine was enough for Sabine. But both of them was picking on their food, as their daughter seemed the only one with a good enough appetite to eat her meal.
“How was your day, sweetie?” Tom cleared his throat, looking at his daughter, trying to smile, but it appeared sad.
“It was fine, I had a walk in the garden then I was back inside attending classes with Lady Caline.” She calmly said, keeping a polite face with a smile, as she was taught.
“That’s good, daughter.” He softly looked at her, before adding, “one day you’ll make us all proud.”
“Of course, your majesty.” Marinette bowed her head slightly.
He smiled, bowing his head too slightly, before he pushed away his plate, and dipped his hands in the bowl of water, that the servants provided, drying his hand in a napkin then. His wife got up, following him as he walked out of the room. The princess remained, as she asked for a glass of wine, pushing her plate away, too.
“Would you like anything else, your highness?”
“No, thank you.” The bluenette said, before she got up to leave, letting the maids do their job.
Walking through the hallways never felt that lonely before. Even though they were heavily guarded now, and a maid kept following the princess around. After the invasion of the small town on the far south, castle had been tense.
The guard opened her chambers’ door for her, as she walked with a straight poise into them. The maid leaving her at her room’s double doors. As Marinette dismissed her. The young woman closed the door after herself, and made sure to lock it. She started untying her gown, letting it fall to the ground, before stepping into another night gown, who was lighter, and easy to move in.
She whispered words in the night, getting out a pair of glasses, and wore them, as a brown light appeared, and her dress turned into a leather dress in dark brown, and a hood, with a mask that hid half her face. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked closer to her bed, before letting out another phrase, making a portal open.
Adrien was preparing for bed, taking off his heavy suit, to put on another pair of pajamas, when an a portal opened over his bed, a beautiful girl who fell out of it, and made herself home in his bed.
“Princess!” He whisper yelled, a grin splitting on his face, as he hurried up, and joined her on the soft mattress.
“De transform moi.” She whispered, her leather suit disappearing, only her blue night gown stayed. She smiled up to him, letting him take her in his arms.
“My prince.” Marinette said softly, liking the warmth he provided her.
“Missed you.” He pulled back, placing his lips to hers, uniting them in a sweet kiss.
“Sorry, your father is making things harder for mine, just tonight were I able to sneak away.” She stuttered, as he went and stole another kiss.
“Oh, I heard about it. I’m sorry.” The young man kissed her forehead, embracing her comfortingly.
They lay back in the bed, her head on his chest as the prince wrapped his arms around her.
“Not your fault, I know you disagree with your father.” The blue eyed princess mumbled, playing with the strings of his top.
“But he is waging a war against your kingdom.” Adrien sighed, stroking her midnight hair.
“We are going to stop him, right?” She looked up to him, her eyes full of a gleam he loved about her.
“Yeah, he can’t get your family jewelries.” He leaned to her, kissing her nose in a tender manner.
She smiled, as she leaned on her wrists, kissing him on the lips, he tangled his fingers in her hair, pulling her closer, as both of them hummed in delight. The princess panted, giggling as they pulled away, while the heat creeped to the blond’s cheeks.
“So, what do you think is his next move?” Marinette asked, resting on her side, looking over Adrien.
“Well, the prince has missed his princess so much over the last week.” He started, before adding. “I’d think he’d like few more kisses.”
She let out a giggle, as she shook her head. “I think he got enough.”
“Not one bit, Princess.” His royal highness pleaded.
“I suppose, one more kiss won’t hurt.” She acted as she made the decision.
“Very kind of you, my Princess.” He chuckled, as he pulled her down, placing his lips to hers.
They both sighed when they pulled away, the young prince yawning, as the princess’ eyelids started to drop.
“I guess you have to go?” Adrien asked her, as they stared at the ceiling together.
“Yeah, I can’t stay sadly.” She repeated the line she always say every time.
“My father is not in the castle as I’m informed, you can go snoop in his study.” He retorted.
“I don’t feel like it, maybe I’ll stay with you until you sleep.” She yawned, shaking her head.
“That would be lovely, my Princess.” He smiled fondly at her.
She stood on her hands and kissed his head, and as time went by, Kaalki was back and fed, Adrien was already deep in his sleep, with one last peck to his cheek, pulling the covers over him, she was gone in the blink of an eye.
