Marc crawls onto the bed where Steven is already lounging in his fortress of pillows. He shoves two queen-sized ones out of his way and throws a third useless decoration pillow over his shoulder.
“Marc,” Steven laughs, lowering his book for the first time in hours.
Marc chuckles as he tosses a fourth one off the side of the bed. “You’re proving my point.”
“I am not a pillow princess.”
“Mhm.” Marc takes Steven’s calves in hand and splits them, making room for himself. Steven turns a lovely shade of red and sputters, saying something indignant.
He’s not really listening.
Rather, he crawls up Steven’s legs and flops stomach first on him. Steven wheezes under him and chokes out, thwacking his shoulder, “Marc.”
“Hm?”
“Let me sit up a little.”
Marc lifts himself with his forearms. Steven hikes himself higher against a tiny mountain of pillows, then pats his lap. Marc curls up against his chest and smiles when Steven’s arms hold him tight, fingers combing through his hair.
