Work Text:
It’s a light brush against his skin, but it’s all he needs to wake.
The covers are kicked around and molded to fit his body where it was needed during the night. His pillow is cool on his cheek.
The fingers graze his bare shoulder again.
He moves it with a grimace, brows furrowed.
The person behind him moves too, a little closer. Then, an arm wraps around his side, too big to be Steven’s.
He still doesn’t react, his mind too bleary except to acknowledge and understand ‘Jake.’ It’s enough to seep the tension from his bones, breath still perfectly even.
Jake squirms even closer, nearly flush against Marc’s back. His cheek presses into the outer edge of Marc’s neck.
Marc still pays him no mind, more content with the perfect structure of his covers.
His morning voice rumbles in his ear. “Marc.”
Marc tries to grunt. It comes out like a weak mewl.
Jake smiles against his skin. His voice is fond. “Marc.”
He stays quiet this time.
Jake nips at the shell of his ear as his hand glides again. “You’re fucking gorgeous.”
Marc’s traitorous heart skips a beat.
Jake’s fingers graze over his firm stomach and up to his chest. “Look at you.”
He grumbles, “Jake.”
“Hm?”
“Lemme sleep.”
Jake doesn’t stop touching, fingers trailing along his collarbone. “Go ahead.”
And in the following silence, he begins to.
Then Jake whispers to himself, “Stunning.”
Marc slowly opens his eyes, glaring at the curtains.
“I can’t help it, honey, look at you.”
“S’my first morning off.”
Jake presses another gentle kiss to his neck. “And I just so happened to reschedule my meeting until one.”
Marc blinks slowly. Processing. Interest sparks.
Jake kisses over the curve of his shoulder and sits up to reach more of his neck. Arm tightening, warmth pooling from his body heat. “So?”
Marc sighs deeply. “You’ll have to do most of the work.”
Jake gently pushes Marc onto his back and hovers over him with another sharp grin. Morning bed head has turned his curls wild. Marc’s breath hitches. “You just sit back and relax, honey. I’ll take care of you.”
