Chapter Text
Robin can’t believe what she saw coming out of the school. That’s not true, she could believe it but it was always mindblowing to see it. Five heads stood at the top of the steps watching Steve Harrington get out of the car and lean on it. This wasn’t the first time she had seen these five heads get distracted by the recent Hawkins High Graduate.
The blond was Henry Creel and the current Student body president. His younger adopted sister Jane was a freshman. The man standing next to him with his chest showing was Billy Hargrove. His younger adopted sister was Max, another freshman. Then you had two brunettes holding hands, Jonathan Byers and Nancy Wheeler. Both had freshmen brothers, Will and Michael. They were also in a relationship but that didn’t stop them from pining after Steve. Last but certainly not least was Eddie Munson, a 19 year old with bad luck in school and even worse luck in love. But according to Dustin the man was a great DM and could shred on the guitar.
Every Friday these losers would line up to pine for her Dingus. She shook her head at their suffering, while Steve looked for Love he had trouble seeing the people around that like him. Not that any of them were worthy of her best friend.
Out of everyone she would choose Eddie, he had the least history with Steve and Robin believed that would yield better benefits.
“Pathetic.” She stated, coming to stand right next to Eddie. “Y'all can just talk to him, you know? He doesn’t bite.”
Robin isn’t sure why she always tried to give them all advice. Turning from looking at them to looking back at Steve who was checking his hair in the side mirror before he was accosted by all his freshmen.
“Your siblings have more courage than you. Later losers.” Robin said, starting to walk down the steps of the school, her hand in the air shaping out a big L.
Once she got to the bottom of the steps she sprinted her way over to the car and hopped on Steve’s back. He spun her around causing her to giggle before letting her long legs unwrap and drop to the ground. Robin tossed her bag into the back seat of the car as she waited for Steve to shoo away his minions. She turned back to look at the top of the staircase to see the Steve fan club glaring at her. Sliding into the front seat she leaned out the window and flipped them off.
Steve got in the car and started it, Robin slid back in and buckled the seatbelt.
“What was that all about?” Steve asked as he started driving them to their next job, “Did one of them mess with you? Want me to talk to them.”
Steve grunted at the thought of her being pushed around by them. Robin lifted her hand and patted her best friend's cheek.
“Just fighting for your honor Dingus.” Robin said and Steve made a squawk.
If they wanted to date Steve they better bring their A game because her best friend deserves the world.
