Work Text:
Regret. Absolute regret.
Hawks didn’t know why he brought Tokoyami with him to go patrolling- actually no that was a lie, he wanted the kid around because he felt anxious when his chick intern wasn’t near him but that was not the problem at the moment.
The problem was how both he and Tokoyami were tip toeing their way into the dorms trying to find a first aid kit to patch up their wounds and they had to go into the kitchen to get it without getting caught.
The problem also was how the moment Tokoyami and Hawks stepped into the common room a black cat walked out from the kitchen, and the second Hawks made eye contact with it he knew it wasn’t about to end well. Especially when the cat suddenly charged towards them.
“Hissssss!”
Without a second of hesitation Hawks moved his arms under Tokoyami's armpits so he could lift him off the ground and bolted towards the ceiling, a startled gasp erupted from Tokoyami when he was suddenly picked up and he winced when he felt the cut on his ribs rip apart and get bigger. The cat ran towards them and pounced to try and swipe its claws at them but missed and landed on the ground with an angry growl.
Hawks moved his arms so they were now around Tokoyami’s chest, not wanting to drop his intern. Both Dark Shadow and Tokoyami made a noise of protest but stopped once they caught sight of what caused Hawks to act the way he was.
“Why is that thing in here?! Cats are the absolute worst! Why couldn’t it have been a dog? A rabbit? A fish? A hedgehog?! Literally anything but a cat. They all hate meeeee!” Hawks quietly whined at the cat, eyes narrowing when it jumped onto the counter and pounced one again to try and get to him.
Tokoyami tried to even his breathing and fought back tears when he was jostled but didn’t show that he was in any pain aside from that. “I do not know, I do not recall anyone in the class getting a cat.” He murmured, he saw Dark Shadow come out from his shoulder.
“Back off!” Dark Shadow whisper-shouted, when the cat hissed as an answer he quickly hissed back, his was much louder and scarier which made the cat hesitant but the hesitation was gone almost as fast as it appeared as it started swiping its claws at the shadow.
Dark Shadow cowered back, after the recent battles from the busy patrol tonight it was too tired to deal with anything. Tokoyami watched as his sibling returned back to him, keeping his arms wrapped around Tokoyami’s waist and hid under his cloak to rest like a belt.
Hawks looked around to see if there was anyone in the room, for some reason out of Aizawa’s 20 students there was somehow absolutely no one in the common room which he was thankful for. Hawks could tell that Tokoyami was also relieved that nobody was around. In the corner of his eye Hawks saw the frame of Aizawa’s body sleeping on the couch.
Uh oh.
Oh shit. Shit. Shit. Shit. Shit! Shit! Shit! Shit! That was not good, Hawks had brought Tokoyami and himself to the dorms because it was the closest safe spot and his agency was too far away. It was a Sunday which meant tomorrow was a school day for his intern.
It was nighttime so nobody was awake which was the reason Tokoyami suggested that they cleaned their wounds here since nobody would see them so it would be like nothing happened and they could both carry on about their lives the next day.
They were fighting with a burglar that had a sharp skin quirk, however the hell that worked. Apparently the villain could make his skin as sharp as razor blades whenever it came into contact with someone so when Tokoyami body slammed the villain into a wall to stun him he got a large patch of his skin on the left side of his ribs ripped off.
What caught them both off guard was that the villain had more than 1 quirk which is why when Tokoyami attacked he was caught off guard. They had originally thought that the mans only quirk was being able to multiply whatever he touched but because he also had a sharp skinned quirk both Tokoyami and Hawks got a bit scuffed up. Hawks’s shoulder was injured from a different villain that they fought earlier during the patrol but he just ignored it and pushed through.
Hawks let his intern personally take down the villain, once Dark Shadow pinned the man down with his talons the villain let out a string of curse words and slurs that made Hawks put his hands on Tokoyami’s head so that he would not hear them.
Which horrified Tokoyami because he was NOT a child.
The injury wasn’t enough for major concern but it was bad enough that it needed to be cleaned and bandaged up quickly. Hawks’s bird instincts made it so he couldn’t leave Tokoyami alone until he was all patched up and good to go. Not to mention he also got nicked by the villains sharp skin, he shot a glance at his bleeding shoulder and prayed to god that no blood would drip anywhere on the floor. It felt like razors were still cutting into his skin but Tokoyami had a much larger cut than he did so he didn’t even want to know what pain his chick intern was in.
He also knew that his body was for sure all bruised up from the hard landing he did when he and Tokoyami were chasing the guy down but that wasn’t his top concern right now. What was, is the fact that his chick was hurt and needed to be bandaged up.
Unfortunately for Hawks and Tokoyami, they couldn’t ask Aizawa for help at this moment. They knew knew how much trouble Hawks would be in if Aizawa found out that one of his students was hurt on the 2nd pro hero’s watch. That is why they wanted to do this in secret, just a quick in and out and then Hawks could go back to his agency like today never even happened and Tokoyami could head back into his room and go to school the next day.
Hawks would avoid getting in trouble, Tokoyami and Dark Shadow would avoid the embarrassment of getting caught, and they would all be saved from a scolding session. It was a win-win for everybody.
If everything went to plan that is.
“Okay this is fine, we are just going to play a game of the floor is lava.” Hawks reassured, looking around to see if he could find somewhere to land where the cat couldn’t get to them. Luckily with all of his training, his wings didn’t make any noise when he flew so he could hover silently as he thought of a plan.
Tokoyami awkwardly moved himself into a better position as he pointed towards the kitchen. “There’s a first aid kit in the top drawer above the stove.”
“Hisssssss!” The random cat hissed again making Hawks move backwards slightly, he heard Tokoyami sigh and he looked down at the fledgling.
Tokoyami wondered how the cat even got into the Dorms.
“Dark Shadow are you awake enough to grab the first aid kit?” Tokoyami whispered softly, his quirk groaned and started sluggishly floating towards the kitchen to grab the first aid kit.
“Shit, doesn’t one of your classmates have enhanced hearing?!” Hawks panicked, looking around to see if he could see anyone coming. With his Hawk vision it was easier for him to see in the dark compared to normal people, Tokoyami was the same.
“Yes, but Jiro’s room is soundproof so that will not matter.” Tokoyami said, wincing and sucking in a sharp breath when Hawks readjusted his grip again and touched the large cut on his ribs.
Dark Shadow quickly came back with a first aid kit in his talons, handing it to Tokoyami before disappearing into Tokoyami’s chest to rest. Tokoyami murmured his thanks to his quirk before looking down at the angered feline below him.
“Stupid cat.” Hawks muttered under his breath, an involuntary squawk escaping his throat when the cat growled and jumping up again. He used one of his feathers to lead the cat out and far away from the room before cautiously lowering himself and Tokoyami back onto the ground.
Once Tokoyami’s feet hit the ground he let out a relived sigh, stiffly walking over to the kitchen counter and placing down the first aid kit before opening it and pulling out two bandage rolls for both him and Hawks.
“Shouldn’t we do this in the bathroom?” Hawks whispered, eyeing Aizawa for a moment before accepting the bandage roll Tokoyami gave him.
Tokoyami shook his head and looked into the kit for anything to disinfect their cuts. “No, the chances of us getting caught here are much less likely if we do it in the restroom.” He mumbled, which was true, the bathroom was at the other end of the dorms where most of his classmates slept.
Hawks nodded and was about to pull down the arm of his shirt to bandage his shoulder that was now bleeding all over his yellow jacket but before he would even unwrap the bandage roll he heard something move and-
“What are you two doing?” Aizawa’s tired voice rang out around the room making both Hawks and Tokoyami jump into battle positions out of habit. When they saw the look Aizawa was giving them they couldn’t help but shy back a bit.
“Eraser! It’s great to see you man, I was just dropping Tokoyami off from patrols!” Hawks whisper-yelled, trying to make his voice sound like he was excited and happy. Though he could tell Aizawa saw right through his act, he hid the bandage roll behind his back using one of his feathers.
Aizawa cast a quick glance at the clock on the wall. “Really? At 3 in the morning?” He asked skeptically, Tokoyami was quick to follow Hawks’s lead and made sure that the first aid kit was hidden behind his back under his cloak so Aizawa would suspect them to be injured.
He didn’t even have enough time to close the kit so he was just holding it behind his back praying that the contents in it wouldn’t fall out.
“Tokoyami you are aware that you are not allowed to leave the Dorms after 10:00 PM without a guardians permission correct?” Aizawa said, it wasn’t even a question because Aizawa knew that Tokoyami knew that rule.
‘Ha. You’re dead.’ Dark Shadow unhelpfully commented in their shared headspace and Tokoyami couldn’t help but agree with him. For once he was thankful for his bird head because I hid most of his facial expressions.
Tokoyami coughed and shifted from foot to foot, sending Hawks an apologetic look before speaking. “Yes Sensi, but figuring how I am Hawks’s student intern he would legally be considered one of my guardians like yourself. He was the one who texted me and gave me permission to leave the Dorms and go on patrols with him. Tonight was much busier than usual which is the reason I have come back at this dark hour.”
The betrayed side look Hawks gave him made Dark Shadow snicker, Tokoyami enjoyed hanging out with Hawks a lot but he wasn’t about to lie to his teacher for him.
Aizawa eyed him up and down as if he were looking so any type of lie before turning towards Hawks with a glare that definitely took 10 years off his life.
“So you took my student out in the middle of the night to aid you with your patrols on a Sunday?” He asked harshly, the tone in his voice making him sound like he was scolding a child for running away.
Hawks wings puffed up in indignity, opening and closing his mouth a few times before clearing his throat. “Ah- well you see Eraser… technically it was 11 when I called him so not exactly the middle of the night-“ He stopped talking when Aizawa raised up his hand.
“Let me get this straight.” Aizawa growled, his tone was clearly a no nonsense tone as he pointed at Hawks. “You took Tokoyami, my student an hour after nobody is allowed to leave the dorms so that he could help you with patrolling which you can clearly do on your own. You also brought him back to the dorms at 3 in the morning. Not only that but you took him out on a Sunday when he has to get up at 8 in the morning to get ready for school like the rest of his classmates and learn. Which would mean that he would only get 5 hours of sleep at the most, yet the average teenager needs at least 8 hours of sleep to function properly.”
Hawks mind raced to come up with an excuse, he knew Aizawa was protective of his students but clearly the man was making it a bigger deal than it was…? Back at the Hero Commission with his handlers he only ever got 5 to 6 hours of sleep and look at him now!
…
…Okay maybe he wasn’t the best example.
Unfortunately for him while he tried to come up with an excuse his wings fluttered anxiously behind him, his right wing accidentally hit Tokoyami making the teen hiss in pain as he jumped and fumbled with the first aid kit he was hiding behind his back before dropping it with a loud *CLANG!* for everyone to hear, all of its contents spilling out of it and onto the floor.
The 30 second silence afterwords was absolutely deafening.
‘Okay, now you’re really dead.’ Dark Shadow deadpanned in their head once again, Tokoyami kept his gaze on the ground, not wanting to meet his teachers eyes.
‘If I die you die, we are doomed to sink on this ship together.’ Tokoyami thought back, though he was mainly trying to listen and hear of any of his classmates were leaving their rooms to find the source of the noise.
“How did he get hurt on your watch?” Aizawa snarls at Hawks, making Hawks and Tokoyami flinch and tense up, both obviously hoping Aizawa missed Tokoyami’s hiss of pain. “You are a hero. The second highest ranked hero, your duty to look out and protect others, just because my student is your intern does not make him any less important than the citizens.”
Aizawa picked up the first aid kit from the ground before grabbing Tokoyami’s arm and gently guiding him to sit on the couch, Hawks followed close behind, not taking his eyes off of where Tokoyami’s injury was hidden under his shirt.
“What were you planning to do?” Aizawa scowled, digging through the first aid kit to find the hydrogen peroxide and thicker bandages. “Just patch yourselves up and then act like it didn’t happen?”
A involuntary warble escaped Hawks throat when he watched Tokoyami lift up part of his shirt to let Aizawa disinfect the wound. While he could easily do it by himself he knew it would probably make his teacher less anxious if he did it.
Tokoyami hissed when his teacher used a cloth doused in hydrogen peroxide to wipe away some of the blood. There were so many things he wanted to say to try and explain himself but he found his voice to be lost, unable to say a word due to the pain as he continued to avoid eye contact and just looked at the wound on his ribs.
Luckily Dark Shadow didn’t have that problem, peaking out from under Tokoyami’s cloak and letting out a quiet whine to get the adults attention.
“Fumi… hurt…” Dark Shadow sniffed, making himself impossibly smaller as he curled under Tokoyami’s cloak. Aizawa froze and looked at Tokoyami before throwing a glare at Hawks who was looking at the wound on Tokoyami’s ribs with wide eyes.
“How long have you been injured?” Aizawa asked softly, the question was directed at Tokoyami but Aizawa still kept his gaze on Hawks who was looking more and more uncomfortable by the second.
Tokoyami thought for a moment, lying wouldn’t do him any good and his teacher deserved the truth. “Around an hour, two at most.”
They all heard Aizawa curse under his breath as he wiped off all the dry blood from Tokoyami’s skin, Tokoyami held his breath for most of it, the feeling of dead skin around the gash on his ribs being ripped off still lingered when Aizawa started to wrap the bandages around his ribs to cover up the wound and keep it from getting infected. Dark Shadow whimpered again and looked at the bandages with caution, they were wrapped up tight to the point where it hurt but the blood had stopped leaking from the cut which was a good sign.
“You will be going to recovery girl in the morning the moment you wake up, you are too stay here to rest and fully heal and will not attend school tomorrow. Do you understand? ” Aizawa instructed, huffing when Tokoyami nodded and didn’t do anything else. He put a hand on his students shoulder to let him know that he wasn’t mad.
At least not at him.
“I will stay here to watch you and make sure you recover properly and do not leave, we will eventually discuss what happened tonight but I can assure you Tokoyami that you are not in any trouble.” Aizawa stated calmly, watching as Tokoyami’s tense shoulders relaxed slightly and he gave Aizawa a thankful expression.
Hawks raised an eyebrow at Aizawa and put hands up in surrender. “Honestly not that bad, I don’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this whole thing” He said, sounding mostly like he was truth to convince himself more than Aizawa. “it’s not nearly as bad as the time Tokoyami did a 1 vs 6 a few weeks ago, he was a little scuffed up but you would’ve been so proud…” Hawks sentence died in his throat when he saw Tokoyami quickly start motioning for him to shut the fuck up.
“What.”
The tone of Aizawa’s voice was so, so much worse than before. Hell, even Tokoyami and Dark Shadow tried to hide themselves in Tokoyami’s cloak, Hawks is also pretty sure he just saw Tokoyami draw the cross on his chest which- fucking Christ that made the moment so much worse.
“Idiot.” Dark Shadow whispered to Tokoyami who could help but nod his head slightly in agreement, his eyes blown wide as he looked between both his mentors.
Before anyone could blink Aizawa’s red eyes landed on Hawks, he grabbed the pro hero by the scruff of his jacket and started dragging him out of the room. Hawks, Tokoyami, and Dark Shadow shared panicked looks with each other before Hawks was dragged out the door leading to the exit. They both waited and got comfortable on the couch, until they could no longer hear their teachers feet walking down the hallway anymore.
“He’s dead.”
“Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!” Hawks whined as Aizawa dragged him- literally dragged him down the halls of the Dorms. He couldn’t even find his footing before he heard the sound of doors opening and a rush of cold air hit his face, his wings tensed slightly from the sudden change of the atmosphere.
Huh, they got outside a lot faster than he thought.
Hawks quietly hissed in pain and stumbled when Aizawa let go of his jacket and pushed him forward, staring into his soul with that blank expression that made it almost look like the man was sleeping but the rage in his eyes told a whole different story that made Hawks suppress a shudder. They were a good 40 feet from the Dorms now.
“You took my student without letting me, or anyone else know.” Aizawa stated with an even voice. It wasn’t a question, Hawks instantly realized, it was an interrogation.
“Yes.” Hawks said quietly, not fully understand what the big deal was. He cast a glance at his shoulder and noticed that some blood started to seep through his jacket. Probably from being dragged and tossed.
“In the middle of the night.”
“Yes…”
“And you brought him back at 3 in the morning.”
“Yes…”
“On a Sunday.”
“…yes…”
“And this has happened multiple times.”
“…yes…”
“So you’ve tricked my student into thinking that what he is doing is not wrong because it is not breaking any rules, instead, twisting and bending them.”
Hawks opened his mouth to try and lie but he felt his words die on his tongue when Aizawa’s eyes turned red. Despite Aizawa’s blank expression, Hawks could see the rage in those eyes that promised pain and suffering towards anyone stupid enough to piss him off.
Hawks, just happened to be stupid enough.
“The number one rule in the Dorms is that past 10:00 PM a student is only ever allowed to leave the premises with an adults supervision, the second part of that rule says that the adult who is with the student must inform another adult and tell them where they are going in case of an emergency.”
Aizawa levelled him with a flat stare, Hawks felt like his soul was out for everyone to see and was being judged, he couldn’t help but shrink in on himself and looked down.
“Students however do not know about the second part of the rule to try and give them a bigger sense of freedom, you however, did know this rule and choose to ignore it. Am. I . Correct?”
Hawks actually did see that rule when he read the information about the Dorms, he definitely forgot about it because it only just came to mind, this was why he wasn’t a paperwork kind of guy.
“…yeah…”
“And you weren’t going to inform me about this, or anyone else about taking one of my students in the middle of the night to fight villains.”
O-Kay, Hawks suddenly realized how bad this actually looked.
“…yes…?”
“And while he was out patrolling with you he got himself injured. On your watch , and he apparently has been injured for hours before you took notice. Add that to the fact that he was going to go to school tomorrow, having little to no time for the injury to heal.” Aizawa said, scanning around the area as if he was making sure nobody was nearby.
Which may or may not have freaked Hawks out even more, the pain in his shoulder got increasingly worse.
“Yes.” Hawks said stiffly, lowering his head in shame. Even though he was no longer looking at the older hero he could practically feel his disapproving stare.
Once again, faster than Hawks had ever seen a person move, Aizawa grabbed the neck of his jacket and pulled him forward so they were staring directly into each other eyes.
Yup. Definitely nightmare material.
“What kind of hero are you?” Aizawa asked gruffly, being awoken only minutes ago still having its affects on him. Hawks went stiff at the question and started pushing down all of his training to fight he had from the Hero Commission.
“I send my students out to internships with other hero’s because I want them to gain self confidence, and learn other important skills that I cannot teach them because I am an underground hero.” Aizawa’s voice dropped to a more calm, collective one which set Hawks on edge.
“However, I am now figuring out that for months you have been teaching my student to lie and not ask for help when he needs it.” Aizawa used his available hand to point towards the entranced the Dorms. “Fumikage is in there injured because of you. Now, I want the exact number of times you have taken him out on patrol without anyone knowing and how many times he has been hurt and the both of you have kept your mouths shut.”
Aizawa was surprised with how well he was controlling himself, the amount of anger rushing through him was enough to make any man snap and go on a murder spree. He didn’t even want to know how many times Tokoyami had been training with him or went to school while hiding an injury and all this time he didn’t realize it.
Plus the fact that Tokoyami had gotten back to the Dorms at such a late hour, Aizawa knew that Tokoyami had horrible sleeping habits but he just blamed it on Dark Shadow because that made the most sense, not he was starting to have second thoughts.
He made a mental note to keep a closer watch on Tokoyami.
When Hawks didn’t say anything after a few moments Aizawa roughly pushed him backwards and stood up at his full hight, he was slightly taller than the younger male which even he knew made him look more intimidating by default. “I am temporarily removing Tokoyami from your care, he will stay will me for the majority of three weeks- more if I see fit. ” Aizawa quickly added when Hawks opened his mouth to speak.
Aizawa looked down at Hawks but kept his composure rigid, just to try and throw the younger hero off more. Years of practice made it so he could keep a blank expression and yet somehow give off an intimating aura.
“He will not be seeing you in any shape or form, that includes not going to your Agency, no texting, calling or any other sort of communication. Because it seems that you have tricked him into bending the rules, Tokoyami will not have any punishments if that is what you are worried about.”
Hawks felt every single one of his feathers relax, relief running though his body like the blood in his veins. Just the thought of Tokoyami or Dark Shadow getting into trouble because of him back his stomach churn.
“You may be ONE of his legal guardians because of this internship but do not forget that I am more legally responsible for him while on U.A Campus than you are. I hold just as much legal responsibility for Fumikage as his parents.” Aizawa reminded him, knowing he full well had enough power to completely cut Hawks from Tokoyami’s life.
He wouldn’t do that though, not unless something like this happened again because nobody puts his kids in that kind of danger.
“You will meet me at U.A on Tuesday and we will have a talk about your behaviour with Nezu, until I say so you are unwelcome at the Dorms from now on.”
Okay, enough was enough. Hawks knew he messed up bad but he couldn’t stand it anymore. All of his training from the Hero Commission going down the drain for his intern.
“Eraser you can’t do that-“ Hawks winced at the deathly cold stare Aizawa sent his way. “I’m being serious you actually can’t- it’s a bird thing, Tokoyami is…”
Hawks faltered, unable to find the right words that would either not get him in trouble or sound weird. He let his mask break in front of the man, some emotion finally slipping through
“I-it would be like separating a bird from its flock ya know?” He tried, based on the other mans stare he definitely didn’t. “Separating a baby bird from its flock would not only affect the fledgling but also the adult because if I don’t know where he is and if I don’t know that he’s safe then I start to freak out which is the reason why I stop by your class all the time, you understand? I-I can’t- I won’t be able to go three weeks without seeing Tokoyami and confirming it myself that he is safe and I know what I did was stupid but I’m still relatively new at this whole intern things and I’m really, really sorry that Tokoyami got hurt and I didn’t tell you but trust me when I say, nobody is as ashamed or guilty as me. I know you’re mad at me and you have every right to be but I care about both Tokoyami and Dark Shadow more than you could ever imagine.” Hawks finished his long rant chest heaving, his wings at his back twitching from his anxiousness.
The silence out here was just as bad as it was inside, everyone and everything was asleep so there was no noise aside form the wind blowing against their skin, the tiny droplets of rain landing on them every couple of seconds. There was barley any light aside from the light post that were down the road and even those provided a very little amount of light.
Aizawa stared directly into Hawks eyes, as if he was looking for some kind of lie or deception from the number two hero. When he couldn’t find any he sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “Two weeks. You two can see each other again in two weeks if you follow the rules from now on. If you break any of these rules I will keep Tokoyami out of your care for a much, much longer amount of time.”
Aizawa turned his back on Hawks and started walking back towards the Dorms, a sign that he knew the other wouldn’t try anything foolish unless he wanted to fight. Aizawa looked back when he heard Hawks’s quick footsteps behind him and only then noticed the blood on Hawks’s shoulder.
Somehow, without missing a beat Aizawa turned around and walked straight back to Hawks who was looking at him with sad, desperate eyes that even for him almost made him reconsider separating Tokoyami and Hawks, but no. No he had already seen his students puppy eyes and was well prepared.
“Do not mistake my kindness for forgiveness.” Aizawa hissed quietly, pulling out a bandage roll and pressing it into Hawks’s hand. “If I see you trying to communicate with my student before I allow you too, or if you even think about taking my student out to fight villains with you again without consulting me first I will personally make your life a living hell.”
It wasn’t a statement, it was a promise.
Hawks felt his heart turn to ice, his intern- his chick wasn’t going to be able to see or talk to him and it was all his fault. He could feel his pupils turn to slits at the threat but he looked away and closed them to not make Aizawa think he was going to argue. He was thankful that the older hero had turned the 3 weeks into 2 but it still seemed like too long-
It was too long.
“W-wait Eraser-!” Hawks tried to run up to the older hero but Aizawa made it to the entrance before he could and shut the door on him. Hawks winced at how he jostled his shoulder when he skid to a stop in front of him, looking at Aizawa through the glass door.
Aizawa did not look at all impressed, he didn’t say anything and it was almost scary how quietly he moved, he raised an eyebrow before taking out his keys and locking the door. Hawks made a desperate warble sound for the second time today when Aizawa turned his back to him and started walking down the hallway back to where Tokoyami was.
Aizawa pinched the bridge of his nose and tried to rub the sleep out of his eyes, god his kids were going to be the death of him.
When Aizawa got back into the living room he took notice that Tokoyami was sleeping on the couch where he left them. Tokoyami was using his arm as a pillow and was sleeping on his uninjured side while Dark Shadow was wrapped around his waist and curled on his chest like a tired cat.
He sighed fondly, walking over to the couch without making a sound and sitting in the remainder of space left on it. He watched Tokoyami’s breathing pattern, thinking about what Hawks said and if it really would affect Tokoyami that bad for the two of them to not see each other for a while.
Eventually Aizawa felt his eyelids start to drop once again, he glanced at the entrance he came from then back to his sleeping student. He would stay at the Dorms tomorrow and take a day off to watch over Tokoyami, no doubt he could convince Nezu to let him take a break day and have Mic or some other teacher cover for him.
He got himself into a comfier position and let his eyes close, all the small sounds around him slowly fading as he drifting off into a deep sleep. He felt Tokoyami shift on the couch so that his student’s head was now on the armrest and he heard Dark Shadow let out a small whine in protest of moving. Without thinking Aizawa reached out and put a hand on what he assumed was Dark Shadow’s head, smirking at the sleepy but happy trill he got in return.
The last thing he heard before falling into sweet unconsciousness was Dark Shadow’s sleepy cooing and Tokoyami’s soft snoring as his student started burying himself deeper into his cloak.
“Fucking problem children…”
