Summary
Iris glanced at the clock at the exact time it struck midnight. She sighed. Another late night at the office for her husband. It was beginning to become a commonplace occurrence. Him coming in after midnight tip-toeing through the apartment and gently pulling back the covers to not wake her.
If she didn’t know any better, she’d think he was avoiding her, or worse, being unfaithful. Maybe he was.
Her eyes felt heavy. Sleep usually eluded her until Barry was home. But today she’s too exhausted, too frustrated. A persistent ache between her ears that wouldn’t relent.
She couldn’t shake the anger that simmered beneath her fingertips. Boxing until her arms were sore barely scratched the surface of her irritation. There was a quiet part of her that knew her displeasure was justified. Still, she couldn’t get the words out. She couldn’t keep waiting for them to return to normal because, at this rate, they never were. They needed to talk.
Set a few weeks after the season 8 finale.
Iris deals with the lingering aftermath of her time sickness.
