Summary:

“You really can't recognize it? After you prayed so hard to get it?”

Notes:

Hi! After thinking it through I decided to give my other work a continuation. I hope you enjoy and feel free to let me know if you do
PS: It can also be read as a standalone :)

Work Text:

“You must've cursed me.” Megumi pants after breaking away from the kiss.

Even if this affair had been going on for a while now there were moments of clarity, like the current, that made Megumi question his actions.

He did question a lot whenever he was alone with nothing besides his thoughts, but not with Sukuna. He usually was so entranced by the other that the thought of parting from the embrace barely crossed his mind. Even less it crossed ending their, if it could be called like that, relationship. Yet these brief instances of lucidity existed and he paid attention to them.

“What do you mean?” The other spoke softly, very according to the way he caressed the sorcerer’s face. For such hands to hold something with so much care should be inconceivable, yet that was the exact scene playing right now between the two of them.

“That you must've poisoned my mind!” Megumi held his ground even if the other seemed unfazed by the accusation.

“Oh blessing, do you really think that's what it is?”

“I don't know!” He meant every word that came out of his mouth, “but this is as wrong as it can be.” Megumi spoke his mind even if his body told a whole nother story. The curse couldn't help but laugh at his response or his reaction. Most likely both.

“Why are you laughing, asshole?” Shame clouded Megumi’s judgment at that moment, he would not dare to speak so recklessly to Sukuna in any other situation.

“You really can't recognize it? After you prayed so hard to get it?” Sukuna talked just as if he was savoring every word. Megumi, on the other hand, behaved as if the words were getting inside his skin, making him itch all over.

“Recognize it? You sure as hell are not making any sense.” He spat, trying to get away from the other. Sukuna held him in place by the nape and tasted his own lips before replying. Megumi stopped struggling.

“Then, let me spell it out for you dear Megumi: this is love.”

The younger man's face shifted in disgust upon hearing the words just as the curse found ecstasy pronouncing them. His pupils enlarged seeing the other’s get smaller. The fear normally aroused Sukuna, but right now it was the other’s denial that had him captivated. How fascinating, he told himself.

“No, it can't be.”

“It is.”

“It can't. Because you are...and I…” He shook his head with eyes shut tight.

“I'm a curse and you are a sorcerer?”

 “Yes!”

“But Megumi, you and the shadows were meant for each other. It's only natural that you should embrace the dark.” Sukuna owned those words as if he were the Master of Truth instead of King of Curses, Megumi’s body went rigid and his eyes widened by hearing him.

“It's…different. I use it to fight curses, I help people.” It wasn’t clear whether he wanted to convince the other or himself with the explanation; still, every time he opened his mouth he seemed less certain of everything.

“Do you, now? Don't you save people, say, unequally?”

“I…”

“Then, why would you deprive yourself of something you longed so desperately for?”

“It's just not right.”

“To love a curse or to allow yourself to be loved? Which one is it, Megumi?” That last bit seemed to persuade him. Either it was that it was or messing up with his convictions, twisting his morale for good. At least that’s what the younger’s expression conveyed to Sukuna.

Still, even if his gut was telling him that he had won his instinct told him he had to pretend, at least for the other’s sake. In order to conquer him he had to appear human; after all, they still had a long way before the sorcerer could accept his true nature.

“Come, please?” He invited. At some point, during the exchange ,the other had set a distance between them, so the curse tried to mend that. At first Megumi seemed hesitant to approach; even so, Sukuna did nothing but wait. Eventually Megumi complied; the other welcomed him with open arms.

“Let yourself be cared for.” Sukuna whispered so smoothly it was barely audible, as he stroked his hair. Megumi simply obliged, in the end, deep down he did want that too.

“You know this can't go on forever, right?”

Oh but it will. The curse thought.

“Let us enjoy the moment then,” he lied.
